Comparing Christianity to Islam: Gospel of Peace vs. Mandate of Terror

COPYRIGHT WARNING

So far, in 2015, there have been 2,501 attacks by Islamic Terrorists; 178, just in the month of November.[1]

Since the attack on America at the Twin Towers in New York City, on September 11, 2001, Islamic Terrorists have carried out 27, 290 attacks, world-wide.[9]

Number of terror attacks by the followers of Jesus during the same period: -0-

With the advent of radical fundamentalists Muslims who take their religion to such an extreme that they kill non believers; many critics of Christianity claim that fundamentalists followers of Jesus are no different.

The Crusades which took place from 1095-1291, were ordered by the leaders of the Catholic Church,[10] who murdered millions of Muslims. This event is often cited as the reference to assert claims that Christianity has committed similar events to those of Muslims, which is historically, incorrect.

Over the course of human history, there have been many groups of people who have hijacked religion and use their ancient scriptures to justify atrocities that they wish to commit. When we examine the actual words of Jesus in the New Testament, we find that He never instructed any of His followers to kill people who refuse to believe. In fact, we see just the opposite. A great majority of the fifth chapter of Matthew’s gospel describes Jesus’ instructions to His followers in how they should respond to people:

Jesus Speaking

But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, Matthew 5:44

But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. Matthew 5:39

You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’ But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, “Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire. Matthew 5:21-22

Only the Catholic Church is guilty of the horrendous acts of the Crusades. There were millions of other Christians throughout the world during that time, who never participated in, nor condoned, these unjust actions. At no time in the history of the world, has the Christian Church as a whole, ever participated in the murder of non believers, nor have they ever taken up arms against any people in order to convert them to Christianity.[11]

President Obama said the following, regarding Christians and their past behavior, at the National Prayer Breakfast on Feb. 5, 2015, in Washington, D.C:

“Humanity has been grappling with these questions throughout human history,” he told the group, speaking of the tension between the compassionate and murderous acts religion can inspire. “And lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ. In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often was justified in the name of Christ.”

I.S.I.S Comes to Steal, Kill, and Destroy: The Reason and Source of Terrorism

ISIS

In this article we will examine the true source of terrorism in the world today and who is really orchestrating the reign of death and chaos that has plagued our planet.

The Bible distinguishes the events of the last days from all other periods of human history. During this time, one group of people will bring the world to its knees by its reign of terror. Today, the greatest threat to peace in the world is the radical Islamic Terrorists of ISIS/ISIL.

The Bible reveals that the true leader of this mass horde of murderers is satan. If we compare the list of activities that the people of ISIS carry out all over the earth, their mission and manifesto are precisely the same as satan.

The devil has one mission on the earth: to seek out and destroy as many human lives as possible. Jesus said that those who murder and create terror on the earth are the son’s and daughters of the devil. The true family of God are those who pursue peace and seek to love people. We see this illustrated in the words of Jesus as He confronts the religious leaders of Israel. These men claimed that their religion ensured that they were the true followers of God. The Selectively Offended

COPYRIGHT WARNING

I disagree with that

Today, we live during a period of history when the rights and freedoms afforded to all Americans by the First Amendment are being eroded and redefined.

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”

There is a group of individuals who are offended by what certain people say or write and therefore assert that those who express themselves in offensive ways, should be silenced. The problem with this view of speech is that the people who make these claims, selectively choose what is offensive and what is not. Essentially, anything that you write or say that they do not agree with, is deemed offensive language and should be censored.

Winning The War On Christmas

Starbucks No Christ

It is only November 9th and already there is news across America that malls and department stores are cutting Christ out of Christmas. Several malls have eliminated Christmas trees, and all references to Jesus and His birth. Starbucks has introduced a Holiday cup that simply has their green logo on a plain red cup.

Whatever the excuses retailers give for their elimination of Christ from Christmas; not offending certain people of other religions, or wanting to remain neutral and non religious, the end result is an assault on the tradition that Christmas is to millions of Americans and people around the world.

What we can we do about it

Vote with your cash. This year, patronize malls and stores that celebrate the traditional Christmas season with trees, lights, and traditional emblems that represent what Christmas really is: When God gave us the gift of His Son, and we celebrate by giving our gifts to those that we love. Tell store owners that you are offended and you want Christ to stay in your Christmas celebration.

It may be hard, it might cost you a little, but it is really the only way that we can persuade the owners and managers of stores and malls that we want Christmas to stay the way it has been for a very long time. Tell those in charge how you feel. Write letters. Speak to the managers of malls and stores. Tell them that if they will not keep Christ in Christmas, and put up the traditional decorations of Christmas in their stores and shopping centers, you will not spend your money at their places of business.

It is really just that simple.

Your Name Is Written In Heaven

Lambs Book of Life

When Jesus spoke to His disciples, He said that they should rejoice that there names were written in heaven.

…rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” Luke 10:20

When we examine the original Greek language in which this verse was written, the verb that is used for “written,” carries with it the idea that these names were written in heaven from eternity. In other words, because God knows all things, He has always been aware of every person who would choose to follow Jesus and rely upon Him for their Salvation. These individuals have always been known to God and there names would remain in the book of life—forever.

There is also an indication that the “Book of Life,” contains that names of every person who will be born upon the earth. Their names will remain in this book, until the last day of their life. Upon their death, if they have rejected the command of God to believe upon Jesus for their Salvation, then and only then, will their name be blotted out of The Book of Life.”

It Matters, What We Say and Do

COPYRIGHT WARNING

It matters what we do

Does the Lord really care about the things that we look at, the places we go, the things we say, and the way that we live our life?

Paul wrote in the New Testament that those who believe in Jesus and who have asked Him to be their Savior and the Lord of their life, should live in the same way that Jesus lived His life.

He who says he abides in Jesus ought himself also to live just as He lived. 1 John 2:6

The question that each one of us must ask ourselves is “Am I living my life in a manner that is a true reflection of Jesus?” In other words, when people see us—as we claim to love the Lord—do they see a person who speaks and does the things that Jesus said and did? Can people tell if we love Jesus by the way that we speak and the way we live? Continue reading “It Matters, What We Say and Do”

Does It Please The Lord?

COPYRIGHT WARNING

Pleasing the Lord

Each year at this time, I receive several questions about Halloween and the practice of dressing up as certain characters. People who Love the Lord wonder if participating in these traditional holidays is right. They ask men like myself, who are teachers of the Bible, if it is okay for them to allow their children to dress up and go trick or treating.

In every question that we have, regarding our behavior; it is what the Lord says that is important, not what I or any other person feels is right. The final authority for the Christian should always be what the word of God says.

In these matters, our primary question should always be: “Does it Please the Lord?”

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light in all goodness, righteousness, and truth, finding out what is pleasing to the Lord. Ephesians 5:10
