177: Isaiah 9:7a
365 Prophecies: Prophecy 177
The Messiah will come to earth to establish a kingdom with no end.
Old Testament Prediction:
Isaiah 9:7a Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
New Testament Fulfillment:
Luke 1:30-33 Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”
When the angel told Mary that she would give birth, he said that He would be the Son of the Highest, and His kingdom would never end. It is certain that these words spoken by the angel were intended as a fulfillment of this prophecy of Isaiah, of the coming Messiah.
When will the kingdom of the Messiah begin?
The Book of Revelation, Chapter 11, describes the seventh trumpet as it is sounded near the end of the seven-year Tribulation. This causes the Kingdom of the Messiah to begin with a shout of affirmation by the redeemed church in heaven:
Revelation 11:15-17 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” 6 And the twenty-four elders who sat before God on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17 saying: “We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, The One who is and who was and who is to come, Because You have taken Your great power and reigned.”
When these events will take place:
1. During this time: We wait for the arrival of Jesus to remove His church from the earth at the Rapture.
2. The antichrist will make his entrance into the world.
3. The seven-year Tribulation will begin by a seven-year peace plan. In heaven, the first of the seven seals is opened (Revelation 6:1-2).
4. After three and one half years, the peace ends by the Abomination of Desolation (Daniel 9:27, Matthew 25:15), as the antichrist commands the world to worship him as God. The second through seventh seals are opened, the six Trumpets are blown (Revelation 6:3- 19).
5. The seventh Trumpet is blown, the kingdoms of this world (earth) become the kingdoms of the Messiah, Jesus Christ (Revelation 11:15-17).
6. Revelation Chapter 19: Jesus descends out of heaven with His church; returning to earth—at the Mount of Olives.
7. The Battle of Armageddon begin with Jesus destroying the armies of the antichrist; satan is chained in the bottomless pit, in Greek: The Abussos (Revelation 16 and 20).
8. The one thousand-year reign of the Messiah begins on earth with the members of His church established to reign with Jesus over the whole earth (Revelation 20).
Although Jesus arrived the first time as a humble servant who laid down His life for all mankind, at his return to earth, He will come with great power and authority as the King of all kings and Lord over all lords.
During His first arrival, Jesus came in fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies which describe the Messiah offering His life for the sins of all people. At His second appearance on earth, Jesus will fulfill the Old Testament prophecies which describe the Messiah as He conquers and overthrows all governments and replace them with His own righteous government.
