86: Psalms 22:27-29
365 Prophecies: Prophecy 86
Because of the Messiah’s victory at the cross, He shall be given dominion and rulership over all the nations of the world.
Old Testament Prediction:
Psalms 22:27-29 “All the ends of the world Shall remember and turn to the LORD, And all the families of the nations Shall worship before You. For the kingdom is the LORD’S, And He rules over the nations. All the prosperous of the earth Shall eat and worship; All those who go down to the dust Shall bow before Him, Even he who cannot keep himself alive.”
New Testament Fulfillment:
Revelation 19:15 “Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron…”
Hebrews 1:8 and 13 But to the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.”…But to which of the angels has He ever said: “Sit at My right hand Till I make Your enemies Your footstool?”
2 Peter 1:11 “for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
John 17:24-26 (Jesus speaking) “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me. And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”
The ultimate goal of God is to redeem the earth back to the place of His first creation. God permits men to act upon their own will in determining their eternal destiny. The right of self-determination is a privilege that the Lord has given to us, being made in the image and likeness of God. No other creation has this great honor of redirecting their destiny after having fallen into sin and being separated from God. When the angels capitulated into sin, no plan of salvation was made available to them. Mankind is unique and, as far as we know, the only creation of God who is not in direct conformity to His will. For the present time, God is permitting each person the supreme privilege of deciding their fate. We may be a part of his eternal kingdom of light and life, or confined to eternal darkness from where no man may return.
The destiny of the universe has already been determined by God. In heaven, the word of God is already settled forever. It is only on this tiny planet that men still raise their fists in rebellion and refuse the Lord His rightful place. There is no struggle for rulership between God and satan. Lucifer attained the highest order of all God’s creation—only to lose his privileged place by pride.
In the end, Jesus will win and satan will lose. The Book of Revelation Chapters 16 and 19 describe a battle called Armageddon, in which satan will assemble a great army of men who will be waiting for the return of Jesus, to destroy Him. The Lord will simply speak and the entire army of the beast will perish. The devil and the antichrist along with all the fallen angels will be assigned to the Lake of Fire forever.
Revelation 16:15-16 “Behold, I (Jesus) am coming as a thief (unexpected). Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.” 16 And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon.
Revelation 19:11-14 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He (Jesus) who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God (John 1:1). 14 And the armies in heaven (the church), clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword (the word of God Ephesians 6:17), that with it He should strike the nations…
Revelation 19:19-21 And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him (Jesus) who sat on the horse and against His army. 20 Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21 And the rest were killed with the sword (the word of God) which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.
God is choosing a team of winners who will reign with Him over His creation, for all of eternity. He would like very much to have you be on His team.
The next prophetic event in the linear timeline of mankind is the Rapture of Jesus church. This event described by Paul in 1 Thessalonians Chapter 4 is the moment when all who love Jesus and wait for Him with great anticipation—will be fully redeemed. For a complete study on the doctrine of the Rapture, read the chapter in this book entitled: The Rapture of the Church.
At the Rapture, all those who have already placed themselves under the sacrifice that Jesus has made for their sins will suddenly be removed from the earth. This will allow for the unveiling of the world ruler, whom the Bible describes as “the antichrist,” to assume his prophetic position as the leader of the world. He will institute a seven-year peace plan between Israel and the surrounding nations that will guarantee her safety and the rebuilding of the temple on the Temple Mount (See Prophecy 312). In the middle of this seven years of peace, the antichrist, also known as “the beast,” will command the world to worship him as God. This will unleash the twenty-one judgements of God, described by the Book of Revelation, Chapters 6-18. This wrath from the Lord will be directed at the kingdom of the beast and all those who worship him on the earth.
At the end of the seven years, Jesus will return to the earth, as described by Revelation Chapter 19—to the Mount of Olives near Jerusalem (see Prophecy 301 and Prophecy 313). Waiting in a two hundred-mile long valley north of Jerusalem, described as “the Valley of Megiddo”, satan will be waiting with an army of men from all over the world, ready to fight Jesus and kill Him (See Revelation 16 and 19 above). The Lord will slay all those who are assembled in this valley by the words of His mouth. The blood of that massacre will be to the depth of a horse’s bridle, for over two hundred miles.
Revelation 14:20 And the winepress was trampled outside the city, and blood came out of the winepress, up to the horses’ bridles, for two hundred miles.
At the conclusion of the Battle of Armageddon and the assignment of satan and the antichrist to the Lake of Fire, Jesus as the Messiah will begin His reign of 1,000 years on the earth, as promised by God in the Old Testament.
