He was not the kind of man that most people would consider a powerful leader, or conqueror of nations. He worked with His hands and shaped wood from trees into useful objects for life. He used no force to compel anyone, He spoke humbly, and treated the lost, the broken, and the poor, with great compassion and love.

He did not attend a prominent Rabbinical school to learn the ancient scriptures. He was no author or traveling evangelist. There were no accolades or parades when He came into the world, though He created all that exists by the words of His mouth.

He was rejected, despised, ridiculed, scourged and crucified. While bearing unimaginable suffering Himself, the constant desire of His heart was to bring freedom to His tormentors. To the men who tortured Him: “Father, forgiven them.” To the repentant thief on the cross who had mocked Him moments before: “Today you will be with me in paradise.” To the whole world, a promise: “It is finished.” The work of your redemption is complete, eternal life is yours, heaven is your eternal home.

His heart burst from within as the mounting pressure of bearing the sins of the world pushed his body beyond the stress than any man had ever bore. He commanded His spirit to depart His body. He breathed His last, His blood poured out, His work– finished.

For three days, He lay in the borrowed tomb of a friend, his body experiencing no decay. On the first day of the week, a spectacular event–equalled, only by the first moments of the universe; when light exploded into the darkness of this world and He was alive once more.

When we read the New Testament narrative of Jesus, we are struck by the impossibility of this story. There are many aspects of the accounts that the writers are describing that were not expected by Israel, nor the world. The idea that God would visit the earth in the form of human being. The thought that the natural laws of the universe could be suspended by the voice of a man. How could anyone speak to a raging sea and calm it?The possibility that a person could shout at a tomb and the dead would return to life. It’s a good thing that Jesus said the name of Lazarus when He commanded Him to rise; otherwise the dead from the whole world would have risen.

This is a systematic treatise that intricately details the purpose of Jesus’ presence here on the earth.. See His life, death, and resurrection through the lens of the Hebrew scriptures in one of the most thorough and detailed books available today.

If you are a Christian, you were born extremely rich. The day that you first trusted in Jesus as your Savior, you began a new life as the son or daughter of the Greatest King who has ever lived. Possessing great riches is not enough to live a truly satisfying and purposeful life. We must also gain knowledge and wisdom; to know how to live. In order to fully understand the riches that are ours, we must read the bankbook and discover what God has deposited into our account because of what Jesus has accomplished for us.[1]

Many years ago, one of the world’s richest men, discovered a list of priceless items that he wanted for his collection. He dispatched his trusted employee to travel the world until he found these items and bring them back to his home. After a long and exhausting search, the items were discovered—all in the same location. The employee returned to his boss and reported: “Everyone of these treasures that you were seeking, are already yours. They have been in your warehouse for quite some time.”

In Christ, everything that we are searching for in our life, is already ours…

One of the many treasures that we possess, is the certain knowledge of God’s power and ability to order and bless our lives. There is no greater place to learn about the Lord’s capacity to direct our lives, than seeing this capability demonstrated by the fulfillment of His prophetic word. Many people misunderstand the purpose of these prophecies of the Bible as an attempt to predict the future. This was not the intended purpose of God’s prophetic word. The Lord was desiring that every person might know Him and be able to trust in what He has promised us. How better to prove this ability than to speak about things that are yet to come; and fulfill His word, with extreme precision. (more…)

Jesus As A Matter Of History

No credible Biblical scholar today believes that Jesus was not a real person of history. The evidence for His existence is so overwhelming, that to deny Jesus lived in Galilee at the time depicted by the New Testament would place any writer in a classification of incompetency.[1]

All opposition to the existence of Jesus has now been refuted; and the fact that He lived and conducted Himself in the events described by the four Gospels of the New Testament, is incontrovertible.

A recent publication by Richard Carrier, entitled: “On the Historicity of Jesus,” fabricates a new theory that the Jesus who is alleged to have existed in the New Testament, was a sort of mystical being—not a physical entity.

This is similar to the atheist—theoretical physicists of late, who cannot explain the fine-tuning of our universe by any naturalistic cause. In an attempt to remove any possibility that an intelligent Being is responsible for the Cosmos, the newest hypothesis—described as the, “multiverse,” designates our universe as one of an infinite number of other parallel universes (which no one can see). If we have an unlimited number of universes, then we would certainly expect to find at least one like ours that is finely tuned for life.

Although cosmologists do not have the ability to see beyond our own universe to test this theory, nevertheless, this has become the newest explanation for why the universe appears to be designed for life. This allows the atheist to make the assertion that God is not necessary as the source of our universe, since in their view, it came into existence by itself.[2]

Much like the multiverse, which no one can see, Richard Carrier also creates an ancient mystical Jesus, which no one could see, who was simply a figment of the imagination.

This premise ignores the vast evidence that exists from the Jewish Talmud. The ancient scribes of Israel who chronicled Jesus in their writings, had no interest in preserving any historical information about Him, nor Christianity. The Jews who recorded their commentary about Jesus in the Talmud, regarded Him and His followers as the latest of many cult religions of their day. These leaders of Israel had no desire to document the existence of Jesus, His crucifixion, nor those who followed Him—yet this is precisely what they accomplished by their adversarial comments regarding His arrest and execution. These records were written during the period of history in which Jesus is reported to have been in Israel, as described by the narrative of the New Testament scriptures.[3]

Regardless of how many inferences Richard Carrier makes in his book that the historical Jesus is a fabrication, we must understand that this publication exists—exclusively as a result of a large financial grant from an atheist organization. It should be obvious to those who read Mr. Carrier’s book, that his entire purpose for writing—to deny the historicity of Jesus, was because he was paid to refute the existence of Jesus Christ.[4]

In essence, Richard Carrier is a mercenary for the atheist cause, not a literary or historical scholar who has followed the evidence to a credible conclusion. The facts are, Mr. Carrier cannot refute the certainty of recorded history. Both the Jews and the Romans would rather that Jesus had not existed, yet they found themselves recording many of the events of His life and death—in their preserved records of history. The evidence of antiquity demands that Jesus existed as a real person in Palestine during the period of history in which the New Testament describes Him.

Most people are intelligent enough to understand that a person who has already determined what the end result will be, before he begins to write—cannot be objective in his conclusions.

The darkness which suddenly occurred during the time of Jesus Crucifixion in the Gospel of Matthew, is confirmed by secular sources. It is interesting that those who claim that the narrative of Jesus death and resurrection in the New Testament is a fabrication and myth–ignore the Historical records of these events. How is it that a myth could be confirmed by non-interested and hostile parties? Roman historians record a supernatural event of unknown origin–precisely occurring at noon on the day Jesus was crucified and lasting until 3 pm the same day–precisely as the New Testament Gospels describe.

“Search your writings and you shall find that in Pilates time, when Christ suffered, the sun was suddenly withdrawn and darkness followed”. –Rufinus, Greek Historian

“Now from the sixth hour (Noon) until the ninth hour (3 Pm) there was darkness over all the land. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” –Matthew 27:45-46 (more…)

In the present modern age of the internet and computer technology, the world has the largest assembly of information ever known. The ability to search or write on any subject has become commonplace amongst those who have a laptop or handheld device. Research into the subject of Jesus life, death, and resurrection, is as easy as a few clicks of the keyboard. Adversaries of the Bible and Jesus Christ have written extensively in rebuttal of the historical Jesus, as well as the New Testament narrative which describes His resurrection from the dead. Many claims have been made by critics who assert that Jesus is a myth, the Bible is full of inaccuracies, and the resurrection never happened. To the untrained, these articles put forth by critics may appear, on examination, credible and factual. In fact, they are not.

To begin, most articles which claim that the Bible is inaccurate, or that Jesus is a myth, are based on the opinions of the writer and have no historical or factual basis. It is common amongst atheists and non-believers that they often espouse statements that have come to them from other atheists or non believers. Very rarely do any of those who take an adversarial position to the Bible or Jesus Christ, ever investigate whether the statements they are making–have a factual basis. Those who do posit facts, have invalid or inaccurate facts, and are not trained in the subjects that they claim to have knowledge of.

Upon a thorough examination of these positions against the Bible and the person of Jesus Christ, we find that these individuals did not begin with the idea that the facts are likely true, but commenced  upon their investigation with the assumption that the Bible is an assembly of stories–written by men and the person of Jesus Christ is a fabrication of history. When any person begins with an assumption that something is not true, this bias will cloud every part of their investigation. It is impossible to arrive at a truly impartial conclusion when we have determined ahead of time that something must not be true.

The only way in which any honest person can truly know what is true and what is false–is when we begin with the premise: “I don’t know,” and then follow the evidence where it leads. (more…)

It is a fundamental principle of factual authenticity that no amount of evidence is ever sufficient to convince most skeptics of the Bible and the Historical Jesus–that both are true and reliable.

This author has been actively in pursuit of the facts of Jesus Resurrection, as well as the historicity of His existence, as a real person of antiquity, for nearly 40 years. During this time, the facts which fully validate Jesus as a real person of history have continue to pile up–while those who are presented with such facts continue to deny them as credible. The person who has determined the end result of any question or unknown subject–cannot be convinced by any amount of evidence. Only those who are intellectually honest enough to admit that they do not know the full details of a particular subject and are willing to follow the facts where they lead, may discover the real truth of any endeavor.

In every discussion with today’s modern atheist who staunchly adheres to the position that the Bible is a compilation of men, and the person called Jesus Christ–is either is a myth or His life was greatly embellished in the narrative of the New Testament, I have discovered that these individuals have rarely investigated the available evidence for themselves. It is a clear and reoccurring problem with most atheists that they do not care to investigate evidence, rather they seek to support their choice that God cannot exist and Jesus is not who the Bible says that He is. Upon many interviews with these persons, I have discovered that the positions of a majority of atheists regarding God, is a matter of choice rather than a matter of facts.

In this publication I present a brief example of some of histories evidence for the man described as Jesus of Nazareth–which has been a part of the historical record for over 2,000 years. Not one piece of this evidence has ever been impeached or found invalid. Even against vigorous opposition from adversaries who refuse to accept the written historical record, this evidence from secular history has been full validated by literary and historical scholars. Luke 23:44-45 Now it was about the sixth hour (noon), and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. Then the sun was darkened

Imagine the entire earth growing completely dark at noon and remaining in darkness for three hours. Of course in some parts of the earth, it would already be dark. This prophecy is applicable to those places on earth that would normally experience daylight, suddenly being covered in deep darkness. At the suffering and death of Jesus, the earth would be covered by the same darkness that was poured into Jesus as He became sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

As Jesus is made sin for us, the earth lays in darkness while He suffers and dies. It is as if the whole planet has been put on notice that—had Jesus not come to lay down His life and remove all our sins, this planet would have remained in darkness forever. (more…)

The Resurrection of Jesus

Today, the world is in possession of one of the most compelling and empirical pieces of evidence for the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, that has ever been discovered. Once regarded as a forgery or hoax, this ancient document has now been confirmed as authentic and bearing evidence of supernatural origin. Examined by Forensic Pathologists and some of the world’s best image analyzing equipment, the Shroud of Turin has revealed stunning evidence that this linen cloth bears the image of the Crucified Jesus Christ.

Those who have carefully examined and scrutinized the Shroud, entered their investigation as skeptics and unbelievers–concluding their studies with confirmation that this is in fact the burial shroud of the man described as “Jesus of Nazareth,” crucified in Jerusalem, during the period of time described by the writers of the New Testament.
