With the Sabbath fast approaching, the Jews requested that the death of Jesus and the two criminals on either side of Him, be hastened. The Romans developed a method for accelerating the death of one being crucified; by breaking the shin bones. Continue reading “The Precision of God During Jesus’ Crucifixion”
After Jesus had risen from the dead He told His disciples that everything He had said and done were direct fulfillments of what had been written for the Messiah. The Old Testament scriptures were constructed by God so that the world would know and understand that Jesus is the true Messiah. The fact that the Jews, did not receive their Messiah when He came, was also predicted by the prophets. Jesus held the jewish leaders responsible to know these prophecies and prepare the people for His arrival. The Jewish nation and people failed to recognize that time of their visitation. Jesus pronounced judgment upon their nation in a blindness that would last until the final days. That blindness has continued for nearly 2,000 years. Just 38 years after the nation of Israel rejected their Messiah, the Roman army destroyed Israel and the Temple and disbursed the Jews throughout the world.
Then Jesus said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.” And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures. Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. —Luke 24:44-47 Continue reading “The Certainty of the Messianic Prophecies”

After writing several books regarding the Messianic Prophecies which Jesus fulfilled in the New Testament scriptures, I am still amazed by those who assert that Jesus did not fulfill any of these predictions. One of the texts that is most profound in validating Jesus as the Messiah, is observed in the descriptions of the prophet Isaiah in chapters 52 and 53. This morning I was reading through these verses in The Living Bible and I was struck by their exact portrayal of the actual events that took place in Jesus’ life.
It is impossible to discount the fact that Isaiah wrote these texts more than 700 years before Jesus was born. In fact, all of the scholarly Rabbi’s in Israel attributed the text of Isaiah 53 to the Messiah up until the 12th century. It was at that time that a change occurred where these men began to assert that Isaiah was describing the nation of Israel, not the Messiah. This becomes tenuous when we consider that verse 8 describes the Servant dying for the sins of Israel. If we insert Israel into this verse we have Israel dying for the sins of Israel. This is further illustrated by the following verse (9) that would require Israel would be innocent of sin and therefor suffering unjustly.
Verse 8: “For the transgressions of My people He was stricken.”
Verse 9: “He had done no wrong and had never deceived anyone. But he was buried like a criminal …” Continue reading “The Death and Resurrection of the Messiah Predicted by the Old Testament”

For many years, Christians and Jews have lived together as friends with a common heritage. We both worship the same God, but have a difference of opinion regarding the Messiah. This has not stopped our love or friendship for each other, nor prevented a respectful and healthy dialogue. Continue reading “Breaking Israel News Website: Readers Beware”

If you are a Christian, you were born extremely rich. The day that you first trusted in Jesus as your Savior, you began a new life as the son or daughter of the Greatest King who has ever lived. Possessing great riches is not enough to live a truly satisfying and purposeful life. We must also gain knowledge and wisdom; to know how to live. In order to fully understand the riches that are ours, we must read the bankbook and discover what God has deposited into our account because of what Jesus has accomplished for us.
Many years ago, one of the world’s richest men, discovered a list of priceless items that he wanted for his collection. He dispatched his trusted employee to travel the world until he found these items and bring them back to his home. After a long and exhausting search, the items were discovered—all in the same location. The employee returned to his boss and reported: “Everyone of these treasures that you were seeking, are already yours. They have been in your warehouse for quite some time.”
In Christ, everything that we are searching for in our life, is already ours…
One of the many treasures that we possess, is the certain knowledge of God’s power and ability to order and bless our lives. There is no greater place to learn about the Lord’s capacity to direct our lives, than seeing this capability demonstrated by the fulfillment of His prophetic word. Many people misunderstand the purpose of these prophecies of the Bible as an attempt to predict the future. This was not the intended purpose of God’s prophetic word. The Lord was desiring that every person might know Him and be able to trust in what He has promised us. How better to prove this ability than to speak about things that are yet to come; and fulfill His word, with extreme precision. Many people are not aware of the meaning behind the phrase that Jesus spoke, concerning the time of His return to earth, during the Rapture.
“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. Matthew 24:36
“Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming. Matthew 25:13
We must remember that Jesus is a Jew, and when He spoke He was speaking to primarily Jews. When Jesus spoke, He communicated in Hebrew and expressed His thoughts in a way that would be understood by the Jews who listened to Him. In the past week, I have had the great privilege of discussing the coming of Jesus as the Messiah, with many, many people. The advent of a fourth blood moon during the month of September, 2015, has opened up a wonderful world of exchange between those who do not believe and those who do.
One of the best questions that I received, was from a Jew who does not believe that Jesus is the Messiah. His difficulty is with the text of Jeremiah 23:5-6, where the Messiah is described as a “King, who prospered.” Since Jesus did not reign as a King, and He did not prosper (was crucified), in the mind of this person, Jesus could not be the Messiah.
The following is my discussion with “Israel.”
