Those who view gay marriage as a right, often misuse Bible verses for their assertions. The basis for their argument is that certain strange moral behaviors are endorsed by God and the Bible, therefore, no Christian should have any problem with gay marriage.
The following chart illustrates the lack of knowledge that many atheists, critics of the Bible and the LGBT community have, regarding what the Bible teaches:

If a concise search is made to discover the reasons why people do not believe in God, it quickly becomes evident that every point of objection made by the atheist, is easily overcome with logic and reason. As I read through the following: “The Top 10 Reasons I Don’t Believe in God” by Greta Christina, it became clear that the author is simply making affirmation regarding things that she has little or no knowledge of.
It is common in life for persons to make inaccurate or incorrect statements about persons or matters to which they have very little knowledge.
These arguments are based largely on speculation and conjecture, rather than actual facts. It appears that this author is greatly misinformed about the subject that she attempts to write about as an instant expert. It is common amongst the atheists to regurgitate the statements of others before them, who were also in error regarding their statements. As an object lesson in how opaque the arguments against the existence of God are, I will give answers these to objections. In these responses I will demonstrate precisely how the atheist and skeptic consistently fail to demonstrate a compelling argument against the existence of God.
The following 10 objections to God are made by author, Greta Christina, in her book: But “Does God exist?” Continue reading “Refuting “The Top 10 Reasons I Don’t Believe in God,” by Greta Christina”
Let us suppose for a moment that in Jerusalem, 2,000 years ago, a group of 12 men determined that they would create a new religion. The reasons for their scheme are simple: to become rich, gain power over other men, and receive great acclaim and public adulation. This new religion will have, as its central figure, a man who is said to contain the Spirit of the Living God. He will be killed and then on the third day, He will be raised to life.
First, we must understand—apart from the precision that would be required to make such claims believable, they would have to demonstrate how all of the things their Messiah says and does would be understood as a fulfillment of all the Old Testament predictions which describe a coming Messiah. What many people forget when they are evaluating whether Jesus Christ actually lived, died, and rose from the dead is the fact that someone just like Him was predicted by over 400 Old Testament prophecies. It is a fundamental principle of factual authenticity that no amount of evidence is ever sufficient to convince most skeptics of the Bible and the Historical Jesus–that both are true and reliable.
This author has been actively in pursuit of the facts of Jesus’ Resurrection, as well as the historicity of His existence as a real person of antiquity, for nearly 40 years. During this time, the facts which fully validate Jesus as a real person of history have continued to pile up–while those who reject Jesus has also increased. A person who has determined the end result of any question or unknown subject before the search begins cannot be convinced by evidence. Only those who are intellectually honest and are willing to follow the facts where they lead, may discover the real truth of any question of life.
I have found that in every discussion with atheist’s today who believe that the person of Jesus Christ is a myth, these individuals rarely investigate the available evidence for themselves. It is a clear and reoccurring problem with many atheists that they do not care to investigate evidence. Relying instead upon the words of other atheists a great number of critics simply do not investigate the facts to see if they are valid. It has been clear to me over the past 40 years that a great number of conclusions made by unbelievers are based upon personal choice rather than evidence. When a person does not want to believe something, they often look for others who agree with their conclusions in order to validate their choice.
In this article I present a brief example of historical evidence for the man described as Jesus of Nazareth which has been a part of the historical record for over 2,000 years. Even against vigorous opposition from adversaries who refuse to accept the written historical record, this evidence from secular history has been full validated by literary and historical scholars. There are certain tests that any ancient literary document must pass, in order to be considered a reliable source and accurate in the events they describe.
1. It must be validated by manuscript evidence.
2. It must come from a reliable source.
3. It must be written close to the time of the events.
4. It must have substantial copies.
5. It must be found in the custody of a relevant source.
In every case, the New Testament meets all of these criteria–above and beyond those of all other literary documents of antiquity.
Can you imagine a person coming into to the world who has the power to heal every sickness and disease of mankind as well as raise a person from the dead, simply by speaking to them or touching the afflicted person? The only human being who has ever possessed these abilities is Jesus of Nazareth, as evidenced by the New Testament. Jesus presence on the earth was an event of unparalleled importance in the history of the world. This is the reason that so many copies of the original record of His life was distributed to cities all over the earth in the first century. It is preposterous to claim that the New Testament we have in our possession today is not reliable because we don’t have the original documents which recorded these events.
Logic dictates that if there are over 24,000 copies of the original documents for any event, this event must have been of enormous importance to those who meticulously copied and redistributed these letters all over the world. The fact that all of these records of Jesus life have been used by the Christian church for 2,000 years, and were found in the custody of the church, add tremendously to their authenticity. There are no other documents of antiquity which can match the substantial record of the New Testament.

How do we know that the Bible is the word of God and not simply the words of men?
The Bible is unique amongst all other ancient documents in that it contains a perfect record of predictive and fulfilled prophecies. These descriptions are of such detailed specificity that their fulfillment would appear to be impossible. Yet this is precisely what we find when we examine the facts of history–in comparison with the narrative of these many prophecies of the Messiah. Every word spoken by the Hebrew prophets, has come to pass–exactly as they described. Over 400 Prophecies of the Hebrew Messiah have already been fulfilled by Jesus Christ.
In a single verse of scripture, the prophet Isaiah demonstrates the power of facts to convince the reader in the fulfillment of Bible Prophecy. This one verse of scripture contains ten predictions of the coming Messiah which fully validate Jesus of Nazareth as the only possible candidate for Isaiah’s words. Isaiah wrote these verses, nearly 700 years before Jesus came into the world. We know from the Septuagint version of the Old Testament, that nearly 300 years before Jesus was born, the Hebrew scriptures had already been translated into the Greek language. This Septuagint version remains until today, unchanged. In this long standing and highly regarded text of the Old Testament scriptures, the entire text of Isaiah is included. By this record of history, we are certain that the prophecies of Isaiah were written nearly seven centuries before Jesus fulfilled them. It has always amazed me, the faith that the Centurion displayed before Jesus. The testimony of Matthew is that Jesus marveled at him and said: Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!
The Centurion was a Roman officer who had authority over 80-100 men. This particular officer addresses Jesus as “Lord,” while the leaders of Israel do not. This Roman citizen, who had grown up in a culture which worshipped a multitude of gods, believed that Jesus was the promised Messiah of the Hebrew scriptures. Where did he learn about the Messiah? Who taught Him? What was it that brought his heart to this place of preparation? It may be that he had studied Jesus and the works that He had done, for some time. It is certainly possible the he had a few Jewish friends who had told him about the prophecies of the coming Messiah. Perhaps he had compared Jesus’ words and actions with the Hebrew scriptures and came to the conclusion that Jesus was the Messiah who was promised. Finding faith in the God of the Hebrews while being a Gentile and a leader amongst the soldiers of Rome was a truly amazing event. They call him “Jesus,” but he is not the Jesus of the Bible.
The Jehovah’s Witnesses, founded in the late 1870’s and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, founded in the 1820’s, both claim to be Christian churches–while they deny the Historical Jesus of the Bible. In order to be correctly designated as “Christian,” a church or an individual must believe in the Christ of the Bible.
If we ask a Jehovah’s Witness, or Mormon leader–if they believe in the historical Jesus as He is described in the Bible, many will respond that they do. Unfortunately, their answers do not correspond to the public record of doctrines and statements–which have been written during the history of their churches. Continue reading “A Different Jesus”
One of the empirical facts of evidence which sets the Bible apart from all other books who claim divine authority is the actual confirmation of the words of the Bible by Archeology.
If we can demonstrate that the ancient people and places, which are described in the Bible, actually existed—this provides great credibility for the authenticity of Old and New Testaments. Continue reading “Empirical Integrity of the New Testament”
Many critics of Jesus Christ, claim that His physical resurrection from the dead is an elaborate hoax created by the writers of the New Testament. When we examine the ancient texts of the Hebrew scriptures, we discover that the death and resurrection of the future Messiah was predicted, thousands of years before Jesus arrived on earth.
Twelve times, in the Psalms, Isaiah, and Jeremiah, the Messiah is described as being raised from the dead.
