The Atheists asks the question, “Who created God?,” assuming that His existence necessitated a cause.
This is a fundamental error that atheists make in their inability to perceive God. They imagine that God must be created. Those who do believe in God, do not believe in a God who came into existence at some point in time. In this manner, Christians also do not believe in the kind of God that the atheists do not believe in.
The fallacy of insisting that God must have a creator Himself, runs an illogical circle of never-ending god’s who were each made by a god before them. In order for one who is truly God to exist, He must be singular and uncreated.
Let us consider this premise: The term “God,” is defined as a Being who is perfect in every regard. Any being who is not perfect would not be God, with a big “G,” he would simply be one god amongst many god’s, little “g.”
Since there can only be one God (big G), this first premise requires that He must be perfect in every regard, incapable of error or wrongful actions. If God were able to commit error, He would not be perfect, and therefore he could not be God. Continue reading “Who Created God?”
Isaiah the prophet wrote:
Isaiah 29:14 “ For the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, And the understanding of their prudent men shall be hidden.”
Paul echoed this truth, some 700 years later:
1 Corinthians 1:18-19 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”
In this world, there are many people who have spent countless years building their academic resume into a plethora of achievements. The higher the degree, the greater the belief that religion and spiritual matters are but myth and mysticism. As knowledge increases, so does pride. As men and women gain secular notoriety, so also does their cynicism and skepticism towards the Bible, Christianity, and the concept that all men are in great need of redemption.
The Bible describes the wisdom of this world as foolishness. The more people learn of the world’s wisdom, the farther they gravitate away from the awareness that God exists, and the closer they move towards secular humanism as an established bias for all their theories and premises. Questions regarding the origin of the universe are not purely philosophical
There are those who make assertions that there is no evidence for the existence of God. Others claim that the universe exists by purely naturalistic causes.
Are these claims true, and is there credible evidence to believe in the existence of God and that intelligence is a crucial and absolute necessity for the beginning of the universe?
There have been two problems with attempting to set forth these principles:
One: many of the non-theists, particularly those in the 18-29 age group, notoriously refute the questions of why the universe exists, based on the aged and impeached argument that questions for the origin of the universe are entirely philosophical, and not scientific.
Two: The problem in seeking to make a scholarly answer to these questions, due to the fact that all the material tends to become overwhelming to the reader. Continue reading “An Impossible Universe”
The Cross of Jesus is not what you might expect
As a result of my writing in presenting Jesus Christ as the Messiah and only Savior of the world, I have had the opportunity to converse with many who are atheists. On occasion, I have been informed that most atheists are “highly educated.” The inference is made that since a person has attained a high degree of education, they are better able to discern whether or not God actually exists. The assumption by those who claim that there is “no evidence for God,” is that if God did in fact exist, intelligent men could discover Him by their intellect.
This is an interesting perspective of the atheist. Although they claim to be the possessors of wisdom, they seem to have missed an important point: If God exists, then He would be the source of all wisdom and knowledge. His purposes and methods for revealing Himself, would not necessarily be the ways in which man would expect. He just might determined to present Himself veiled in a method that only the humble could discern. Continue reading “The Foolishness of the Cross”
Does God fail the test of provability, or have we simply failed to examine the evidence for His existence?
We cannot think beyond our past experiences or current knowledge. What we are able to understand is determined by what we have been exposed to. If our parents, teachers, or professors were Atheists, it is likely that we will endorse this same conclusion.
Today, there are increasing numbers of people who do not know God and believe that there is no evidence for His existence. They make their conclusions, in large part, because of the words of others who have declared that God cannot be proven by empirical evidence. There are very few individuals who have actually done the necessary research for a Transcendent being and later conclude the He must not exist. Continue reading “The Unknown God”
If God is the source of the Universe, and if He chose to reveal Himself to the creatures He has made–how would He accomplish this task? Would He make Himself know in a manner that we could expect, or would His revealing come in a way totally unanticipated?
The Apostle John wrote that although Jesus is the source of all things which exist, when He arrived in Jerusalem as the Messiah, the leaders of Israel did not recognize Him.
John 1:11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.
Today, many people repeat this error by failing to recognize the true identity of Jesus. Who He is, and the purpose for which He arrived in Jerusalem 2,000 years ago–is of profound importance. God was seeking to reveal Himself to all mankind. He chose to accomplish this by sending His Son, in the form a man. He spoke human words and communicated love, mercy, and forgiveness, in a manner that any person could understand.
Those who first saw and heard Jesus–suffered from difficulty in identifying Him. It is a fact of human nature that we find it difficult to accept things which do not meet our expectations. If there is a God, and if He chose to reveal Himself to the world–would He not do so with great grandeur, accompanied by an army of glorious beings?
