Today, we live during a period of history when the rights and freedoms afforded to all Americans by the First Amendment are being eroded and redefined.
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”
There is a group of individuals who are offended by what certain people say or write and therefore assert that those who express themselves in offensive ways, should be silenced. The problem with this view of speech is that the people who make these claims, selectively choose what is offensive and what is not. Essentially, anything that you write or say that they do not agree with, is deemed offensive language and should be censored.

Does God need us to defend Him? The Bible describes the early followers of Jesus as men who “earnestly contended for the faith (Jude 3).”
In recent years, there have been many people who are offended by many things. A person can hardly say anything at all without offending someone, somewhere. The term: “Politically Correct” has been used to define what we can say, within the boundaries of acceptable language. Censor: “an official who examines material that is about to be released, such as books, movies, news, and art, and suppresses any parts that are considered obscene, politically unacceptable, or a threat to security.“
Politically Correct: “exhibiting (or failing to exhibit) political correctness: it is not politically correct to laugh at speech impediments.“ Continue reading “If Your God Needs You To Defend Him, He Is Not God”
In the United States, the right of free speech is protected by the first amendment to the Constitution. This is, of course, unless you are a Christian. Try to post a Christian perspective on ABC News, CBS News, CNN, NBC, MSNBC, and other news agencies and see what happens.
Over the past several years, I have attempted to post a Biblical/Christian perspective on the online news organizations and every one was deleted, except Fox News. The reason: It was a comment by an Evangelical Christian.
I have several web sites and I often receive very disturbing and controversial replies to the articles that I post. I never delete any comment. I give my readers the freedom to express themselves in any way that they want, without censure or deletion. It is my opinion that allowing everyone to say what they want to say, gives us a wider view of the mindset of a greater number of people.
