There is a curious paradox that is presented in the pages of the Bible that a great majority of people have not understood. Jesus described a physical birth that every person will experience; and a second spiritual birth that is necessary in order to obtain eternal life. Jesus said that because of our sin and sin nature, we are all already under the condemnation of God and dead in our sins. Once we understand who Jesus is and the reason that He came into the world, we have the opportunity to be born again a second time. At that moment, our spirit within that was formerly dead, comes alive. Continue reading “Born Once; Die Twice. Born Twice; Die Once”
A Unique Life
There is one man who is so distinct amongst all other men who have lived upon the earth, that He is worthy of careful examination. Many people have great difficulty with the Christian church and organized religion–and so they should. The religions of men are frequently a catastrophe of errors and diversely opposite from who Jesus is and what He represents.
Jesus is not a religion, He is not a church. He claimed to be God, living within the flesh of a man, and the only Savior of the world. Either He is a liar, a man delusional, or He was telling the truth. It is our responsibility to examine the evidence for His life and determine if He is who He claimed to be.
Jesus never commanded men to join a particular church or religion, He said “Follow Me.”
This is a fundamental error that atheists make in their inability to perceive God. They imagine that God must be created. Those who do believe in God, do not believe in a God who came into existence at some point in time. In this manner, Christians also do not believe in the kind of God that the atheists do not believe in.
The fallacy of insisting that God must have a creator Himself, runs an illogical circle of never-ending god’s who were each made by a god before them. In order for one who is truly God to exist, He must be singular and uncreated.
Let us consider this premise: The term “God,” is defined as a Being who is perfect in every regard. Any being who is not perfect would not be God, with a big “G,” he would simply be one god amongst many god’s, little “g.”
Since there can only be one God (big G), this first premise requires that He must be perfect in every regard, incapable of error or wrongful actions. If God were able to commit error, He would not be perfect, and therefore he could not be God. Continue reading “Who Created God?”
As we examine human life, we discover that every culture, every country, all people, and nations, have laws which order and direct human activity. Laws are necessary because the basic nature of the human species is towards evil. We are inherently selfish and often seek to look out for our own interests first. Without laws, evil would run rampant over peaceful people who are doing their best to live good and productive lives.
What is the origin of human laws? Where did the framers of the Constitution of the United States find the laws that allow the freedoms that we enjoy as Americans?
The Egyptians, Assyrians, Greeks, and Romans, as well as, many other great an powerful nations of the ancient world, worshipped many different gods. Not one before, ever possessed the laws that were given to the nation that originated from Abraham. When God gave Moses His law on Mount Sinai, these basic ten commandments changed, forever, the course of all human activity. No other nation in the history of the world had the code of moral laws, like those which governed the people of Israel. Every great nation since that time, has fashioned their own laws, from these basic ten laws that Moses received from God. Continue reading “The Bible As The Basis For All Human Laws”
As we consider the theory of evolution, we must ask the question: has man adapted to his environment, and evolved in regards to his treatment of other human beings?
If we examine the entire history of the human species, we discover that people today are no kinder and gentler towards other human beings than they were at any other time in human history. In fact, the cruelty and evil of human activity has grown markedly worse.
If man in in fact, evolving, should there not be some indication of this evolutionary process in his social behavior. What we observe is a species who is the most cruel, and vicious, amongst all the creatures of earth. Continue reading “The Bible Has Told The Truth Regarding The Nature Of Man”
Over the course of 40 years, I have heard just about every excuse for why a person will not receive Jesus as their Savior. In all of the reasons that people give for their unwillingness, they all boil down to one source: A desire to live a certain life that they have chosen, without the interference of religion.
There are many who claim that there is no proof for the existence of God. This is perhaps the most preposterous excuse, considering the massive evidence that is available today to prove that God must exist. In these cases, those who make such assertions, do so from willing ignorance. While asserting that no proof exists for God, under investigation, we find that these persons have not done the necessary work themselves to determine whether or not God actually does exist. In an overwhelming majority, most people who make such claims, use the comments and quotes of other atheists, not their own personal research.
I have not met a single atheists who has taken an academic approach to their atheism by sincerely exploring all the facts which empirically prove that God must exist. The arguments that are frequently given are at best; insufficient, at worst; only taken from the words of other atheists. If you listen to persons who are incorrect in their hypothesis or conclusions, then your hypothesis and conclusions will also be incorrect. If a concise search is made to discover the reasons why people do not believe in God, it quickly becomes evident that every point of objection made by the atheist, is easily overcome with logic and reason. As I read through the following: “The Top 10 Reasons I Don’t Believe in God” by Greta Christina, it became clear that the author is simply making affirmation regarding things that she has little or no knowledge of.
It is common in life for persons to make inaccurate or incorrect statements about persons or matters to which they have very little knowledge.
These arguments are based largely on speculation and conjecture, rather than actual facts. It appears that this author is greatly misinformed about the subject that she attempts to write about as an instant expert. It is common amongst the atheists to regurgitate the statements of others before them, who were also in error regarding their statements. As an object lesson in how opaque the arguments against the existence of God are, I will give answers these to objections. In these responses I will demonstrate precisely how the atheist and skeptic consistently fail to demonstrate a compelling argument against the existence of God.
The following 10 objections to God are made by author, Greta Christina, in her book: But “Does God exist?” Continue reading “Refuting “The Top 10 Reasons I Don’t Believe in God,” by Greta Christina”
Over the course of many years, I have often been asked why Christianity; following Jesus, is different from all other religions of the world. First, we must understand that religion is a creation of man in his attempt to make himself acceptable to God. In reality, the Bible teaches that no person can do anything that would cause God to accept us—except believe what He has said.
The basis for true salvation is in a completed work of God, not in man’s performance or attempts at being religious.
In all of the religions of the world, except Biblical Christianity, a person must keep a a set of rules in order to be acceptable. The Bible teaches that we cannot do anything to cause God to love us; He already does. The distance between us and God is because of our sin. There is nothing that we can do to remove our sins, or make ourselves better. If we will be acceptable to God, He must do something to change our situation. Let us suppose for a moment that in Jerusalem, 2,000 years ago, a group of 12 men determined that they would create a new religion. The reasons for their scheme are simple: to become rich, gain power over other men, and receive great acclaim and public adulation. This new religion will have, as its central figure, a man who is said to contain the Spirit of the Living God. He will be killed and then on the third day, He will be raised to life.
First, we must understand—apart from the precision that would be required to make such claims believable, they would have to demonstrate how all of the things their Messiah says and does would be understood as a fulfillment of all the Old Testament predictions which describe a coming Messiah. What many people forget when they are evaluating whether Jesus Christ actually lived, died, and rose from the dead is the fact that someone just like Him was predicted by over 400 Old Testament prophecies. Criticism is often put forth regarding whether certain scriptures from the Hebrew scriptures, are in fact prophetic. From the vantage point of the Jew who does not believe that Jesus is the Messiah, none of the events of Jesus life, death, and resurrection are held as fulfillments of the ancient prophets.
The atheist and agnostic refuse to believe that anything in the Bible is credible; particularly the application of scriptures which assert that Jesus is the object of these verses.
What we find, is that those who are predisposed to a non belief in God, or doubt the validity of scripture as God’s word, are less likely to believe that the Prophecies of the Messiah are genuine. Continue reading “Criticism of Messianic Prophecy”
