After writing two articles today regarding the 14 points of the Nashville Statement, I visited a web site called: “The Daily Caller.” In this article, the author writes:
“The counter-manifesto, however, promotes homosexuality and transgender lifestyles as “fully blessed by God” and “without a need to conform to the heteronormative, patriarchal, binary sexuality and gender paradigm that Christianity has come to promote and embrace.” Continue reading “Someone Is Reading A Different Bible Than Mine: Same-Sex Relationships Are Now “Holy””
If you read the comments of critics who object to the Nashville Statement, one might imagine that this document contains unintelligent, unsupportable, and incorrect statements. When we actually examine the Nashville Statement we find that it simply restates what God has already said in the Bible since the beginning of creation. “Know that the LORD Himself is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves...” -Psalm 100:3
This post contains the complete 14 articles of the Nashville Statement and a complete explanation of these articles.
Evangelical Christians at the dawn of the twenty-first century find themselves living in a period of historic transition. As Western culture has become increasingly post-Christian, it has embarked upon a massive revision of what it means to be a human being. By and large the spirit of our age no longer discerns or delights in the beauty of God’s design for human life. Many deny that God created human beings for his glory, and that his good purposes for us include our personal and physical design as male and female. It is common to think that human identity as male and female is not part of God’s beautiful plan, but is, rather, an expression of an individual’s autonomous preferences. The pathway to full and lasting joy through God’s good design for his creatures is thus replaced by the path of shortsighted alternatives that, sooner or later, ruin human life and dishonor God
This secular spirit of our age presents a great challenge to the Christian church. Will the church of the Lord Jesus Christ lose her biblical conviction, clarity, and courage, and blend into the spirit of the age? Or will she hold fast to the word of life, draw courage from Jesus, and unashamedly proclaim his way as the way of life? Will she maintain her clear, counter-cultural witness to a world that seems bent on ruin?
We are persuaded that faithfulness in our generation means declaring once again the true story of the world and of our place in it—particularly as male and female. Christian Scripture teaches that there is but one God who alone is Creator and Lord of all. To him alone, every person owes glad- hearted thanksgiving, heart-felt praise, and total allegiance. This is the path not only of glorifying God, but of knowing ourselves. To forget our Creator is to forget who we are, for he made us for himself. And we cannot know ourselves truly without truly knowing him who made us. We did not make ourselves. We are not our own. Our true identity, as male and female persons, is given by God. It is not only foolish, but hopeless, to try to make ourselves what God did not create us to be.
We believe that God’s design for his creation and his way of salvation serve to bring him the greatest glory and bring us the greatest good. God’s good plan provides us with the greatest freedom. Jesus said he came that we might have life and have it in overflowing measure. He is for us and not against us. Therefore, in the hope of serving Christ’s church and witnessing publicly to the good purposes of God for human sexuality revealed in Christian Scripture, we offer the following affirmations and denials.

For reasons that are not always understood, people in the United States have come to the place where they must convince other people to think as they do. From the beginning, our forefathers understood that people are not going to agree and therefore they should give each other the right to express their opinion without fear of suppression from those who disagree. Continue reading “We Are Not Going To Agree On Everything, We Should Respect Each Other’s Right To Disagree On Anything”
It is inevitable during a national crisis that many people will question the goodness of God.
People have asked in times past how a God of love could permit such suffering. The idea is that God, having the power to stop these tragedies before they begin, appears to do nothing prevent the resulting suffering. Continue reading “A Good God and Hurricane Harvey”
If we examine the laws of the Old Testament we are struck by their peculiar nature. The question is: are people who receive Jesus as their Savior, bound to the laws of the Old Testament?

- Exodus 23:19: Cook a goat in its mother’s milk
- Exodus 21:17, Deuteronomy 21:20-21: Cursing parents, rebellious teens stoned to death.
- Leviticus 19:27: Cutting hair on the sides of the head.
- Leviticus 19:28: Obtaining a Tattoo

What are the signs of Jesus’ return and the end of the age?
Jesus was very specific in telling us what to look for in determining the end of this present world. For the time being, God’s timeline is focused on the salvation of people. God is waiting to give time for people to find Jesus, receive Him and be saved. God’s Spirit will not always strive with us forever. He has appointed a time when His Grace will run out and the end will come. For 2,000 years we have all seen God’s Grace in action, being patient with a world that denies God, rejects Christ, and is increasingly becoming more violent and evil. Today, the term, “Extremism,” has come to mean individuals who are extreme in their religious beliefs—causing them to take extreme action against others. The recent attacks in London at the London Bridge are repeatedly referred to as the actions of “Extremists.”
The problem with using this term, without the context of “Islamic Extremist,” is that people will also use this term to define other groups who are also extreme in their belief system, but non violent. Continue reading “The Danger of Using the Term: “Extremism,” Without Context”
When the people of America came to the shores of this great land, it was their intention to ensure that all future generations would not have to endure the religious discrimination and the suppression of religious liberty that they were forced to endure in England. An individual’s immutable biological sex is objectively determined by anatomy, physiology, or genetics at or before birth. A person may determine that they wish to be known by an alternative gender, but this does not void their biological gender identity. Continue reading “Transgender Rights and the Constitution”
