The Reason Donald Trump Did Not Win A Second Term As President

Few consider that Donald Trump was placed into service by the Lord, yet he did not give glory to the Lord during his four years. President Trump took glory for himself and claimed he accomplished all his works. Like Nebuchadnezzar, Trump has been removed and another replaces him.
The prophet Daniel told king Nebuchadnezzar that he had made a mistake and that he should not forget that it was the Lord who had placed him into service, not the kings abilities or power:
Your Majesty, you are the greatest of kings. The God of heaven has given you sovereignty, power, strength, and honor. He has made you the ruler over all the inhabited world and has put even the wild animals and birds under your control. You are the head of gold. “But after your kingdom comes to an end, another kingdom, inferior to yours, will rise to take your place. ~Daniel 2:37-39 (NLT)

The Prophecy:

You will be driven from human society, and you will live in the fields with the wild animals. You will eat grass like a cow, and you will be drenched with the dew of heaven. Seven periods of time will pass while you live this way, until you learn that the Most High rules over the kingdoms of the world and gives them to anyone he chooses… ~Daniel 4:25

The Fulfillment:

“But all these things did happen to King Nebuchadnezzar. Twelve months later he was taking a walk on the flat roof of the royal palace in Babylon. As he looked out across the city, he said, ‘Look at this great city of Babylon! By my own mighty power, I have built this beautiful city as my royal residence to display my majestic splendor.’ “While these words were still in his mouth, a voice called down from heaven, ‘O King Nebuchadnezzar, this message is for you! You are no longer ruler of this kingdom. ~Daniel 4:28-31 (NLT)
Like Nebuchadnezzar, Trump failed to give God the Glory for his achievements, and he is driven from his office. Nebuchadnezzar learned the hard way: the Lord is God, we must give Him the Glory and not take it for ourselves.

The Lesson:

“After this time had passed, I, Nebuchadnezzar, looked up to heaven. My sanity returned, and I praised and worshiped the Most High and honored the one who lives forever. His rule is everlasting, and his kingdom is eternal. All the people of the earth are nothing compared to him. He does as he pleases among the angels of heaven and among the people of the earth. No one can stop him or say to him, ‘What do you mean by doing these things?’ ~Daniel 4:34-35
Nothing happens in this world that is not under the sovereignty of God. Rulers are appointed for the Lord’s own purposes and when they are given power, they must give God the glory for all their achievements. Donald Trump became president by the will of God, and He failed to tell the world that all his achievements were because the Great God of Heaven caused these things to happen through Him. Because of his pride, he lost his opportunity to serve the people of the United States for a second term.
As with Nebuchadnezzar, after his rule, a ruler came who was “inferior” to his kingdom, this is also part of God’s sovereignty. ~Daniel 2:38

  1. Yes, all glory goes to GOD for HE is and shall be Forever LORD. Yes, if Donald Trump does give GOD all the Glory, then, The LORD might use him again or use someone else for all things are possible and GOD must be Glorified.

  2. wisdom is a part of Gods mercy toward those who think they trust and believe. To know wisdom is to know the love of God found in Jesus Christ. Much different than thinking you know Him! Resting in the blood , finding wisdom from above can only come from God! Anything else would be work righteousness, that does not except the grace that only He can give. The words found in the gospel will direct i the path into righteousness!

  3. God does oppose the proud and give grace to the humble, but not always in ways that are immediately obvious or predictable. So we shouldn’t be like Job’s friends who conclusively blame problems on sin.

If I were to guess, though, I’d say that God has handed the U.S. over to destroyers because the U.S. hasn’t repented. Installing Trump in 2017 was an unexpected act of mercy, and removing him was judgment. He was the leader that the Tea Party always needed, but never had until recently.

About him not giving glory to God, I think you’re overstating it. Transcripts are searchable on C-SPAN, and he expressed need for God’s grace a number of times, saying “with God’s help” we will accomplish something.

11/2/20 in Kenosha, Wisconsin: “With God’s help, we will defend the right to life, religious liberty, free speech, and the right to keep and bear arms, your Second Amendment, which is totally under siege.”

11/2/20 in Fayetteville, North Carolina: “With God’s help, we will defend the right to life, religious liberty, free speech, and the right to keep and bear arms.”

11/1/20 near Miami: “We will teach our Children to love our country, honor our history and always respect our great American flag, [and we] will live by the timeless words of our national motto, In God we trust.”

2/18/19 in Miami: “And one day soon, with God’s help, we are going to see what the people will do in Caracas and Managua and Havana.”

I think a better title would be, “A Reason Donald Trump May Not Have Won A Second Term As President”. Paragraph one could say, “…yet he give glory to the Lord infrequently during his four years. President Trump tended to take credit for his works. Perhaps, like Nebuchadnezzar, God will remove him to humble him — and if he learns to give greater glory to God, perhaps he will be restored.”

    Keep the faith Bro!
God has all the time and options He needs!
He’s been propping up and giving strength to our sitting president for 4 years to fight this evil. God loves Donald the same as he loves you and me!
Let us only be guilty of keeping the faith!

    • Thanks Rick. There is no possibility now that he can win. Sadly, it’s over and we have a new president. Blessings to you…

      • But… if Trump humbles himself before the Lord, and gives Him the glory for all he accomplished, he can run again in 2024 and win.

      • I have been to the White two times by invitation of the President and have a personal connection with an advisor. I have sent an email to this person with the attachment “The Reason Donald Trump Did Not Win A Second Term As President.” I ask this person to try and get this to the president. If he gives glory to God, then I truly believe God will right this wrong.
