Evangelical Christians at the dawn of the twenty-first century find themselves living in a period of historic transition. As Western culture has become increasingly post-Christian, it has embarked upon a massive revision of what it means to be a human being. By and large the spirit of our age no longer discerns or delights in the beauty of God’s design for human life. Many deny that God created human beings for his glory, and that his good purposes for us include our personal and physical design as male and female. It is common to think that human identity as male and female is not part of God’s beautiful plan, but is, rather, an expression of an individual’s autonomous preferences. The pathway to full and lasting joy through God’s good design for his creatures is thus replaced by the path of shortsighted alternatives that, sooner or later, ruin human life and dishonor God
This secular spirit of our age presents a great challenge to the Christian church. Will the church of the Lord Jesus Christ lose her biblical conviction, clarity, and courage, and blend into the spirit of the age? Or will she hold fast to the word of life, draw courage from Jesus, and unashamedly proclaim his way as the way of life? Will she maintain her clear, counter-cultural witness to a world that seems bent on ruin?
We are persuaded that faithfulness in our generation means declaring once again the true story of the world and of our place in it—particularly as male and female. Christian Scripture teaches that there is but one God who alone is Creator and Lord of all. To him alone, every person owes glad- hearted thanksgiving, heart-felt praise, and total allegiance. This is the path not only of glorifying God, but of knowing ourselves. To forget our Creator is to forget who we are, for he made us for himself. And we cannot know ourselves truly without truly knowing him who made us. We did not make ourselves. We are not our own. Our true identity, as male and female persons, is given by God. It is not only foolish, but hopeless, to try to make ourselves what God did not create us to be.
We believe that God’s design for his creation and his way of salvation serve to bring him the greatest glory and bring us the greatest good. God’s good plan provides us with the greatest freedom. Jesus said he came that we might have life and have it in overflowing measure. He is for us and not against us. Therefore, in the hope of serving Christ’s church and witnessing publicly to the good purposes of God for human sexuality revealed in Christian Scripture, we offer the following affirmations and denials.

What are the signs of Jesus’ return and the end of the age?
Jesus was very specific in telling us what to look for in determining the end of this present world. For the time being, God’s timeline is focused on the salvation of people. God is waiting to give time for people to find Jesus, receive Him and be saved. God’s Spirit will not always strive with us forever. He has appointed a time when His Grace will run out and the end will come. For 2,000 years we have all seen God’s Grace in action, being patient with a world that denies God, rejects Christ, and is increasingly becoming more violent and evil. One of the most stunning proofs for the Bible as the word of God, is its incredible ability to predict world events, hundreds of years before they took place. Critics of the Bible, as well as the atheist who claims that there is no proof for the existence of God, often repudiate Bible prophecy and claim that the Bible does not predict any future event.
When we examine the prophecy of Zechariah, written nearly 700 years before Jesus entered Jerusalem, we find that the siege of Jerusalem in 70 A.D., was predicted—not only by this Old Testament prophet, but also by Jesus when He declared to the nation that He was their promised Messiah. Where did the laws of the United States originate? To what source did the framers of the Constitution draw their inferences in establishing the rights of citizens for America?
Before the founding of America; before the Constitution existed, there was a standard for all laws that was highly revered and looked upon as the only authoritative source for human law: “Blackstone’s Commentary on the Law.”
When the men who penned the words for the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States, were looking for a just basis for laws that would unite the colonies into one nation, one people, and government, they used the principles of Blackstone’s as the foundation for these laws.
We see evidence for the impact that Blackstone’s Commentary on the Law had on the framers of our Constitution when we examine the words of the Declaration of Independence:
“When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bonds which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.”
This term: “the laws of nature and nature’s God,” came directly from the text of Blackstone’s and is specific in its description for the origin of valid law.*
In this article, we will explore the major precepts of Blackstone’s, in order to understand the mind-set of the framers of the Constitution, when they were seeking to institute the just laws which would convey liberty to all people who would inhabit this land. It is a common error amongst those who are uniformed, that the United States was founded as a secular nation. In fact, when we examine the founding documents of the nation, we find that the entire purpose of our break from Britain, was to become a Christian nation, under the God of the Bible.
King George III, of Britain had declared that when he spoke, it was with the voice of God. It was with this belief that he felt that Britain had the right to dictate to the people of the new land of America, that their obedience was to the king of England and his laws, only.

It is a common error amongst those who are misinformed, that the United States was not founded by Christian men who believed that God had brought them to this land. Although there were several deists amongst the founding fathers, such as Thomas Jefferson, who believed in a Creator, while not being certain that God was actively involved in the affairs of men. The facts remain, as a part of the historical record, that when we examine the biographies of the founding fathers and read their words, we find that the overwhelming majority believed that the United States should be founded upon the Bible and the laws of God.
There are over 100,000 documents from the founding fathers that prove that those who came to this land, believed that God had brought them here. One of the stunning developments that has occurred in the United States during the past 60 years, is the movement of our citizens away from God and the Bible.
After decades of eroding morality and a rise in secular humanism, we no longer possess the faith of our forefathers. Beginning in the fifties, the Christian church ceased from teaching its members the principles of the Bible. This resulted in a nation of individuals who did not know what God has said, nor what He requires. This famine of God’s word produced an eroding national morality, and the acceptance of abhorrent lifestyles that were formerly considered illegal or perverse. Under the guise of equal rights, an onslaught of court cases, sought legal recourse to redefine marriage and what America considers normal in sexual relationships.
During this same period, Colleges and Universities began to teach evolution as the reason for all life, resulting in the exclusion of God from government and educational institutions.
As same-sex relationships became acceptable to the American people, the insistence for more rights, to a wider group of alternative lifestyle and gender identities, has also increased. In April of 2016, a 16 year old North Carolina student, who was born a female but identifies as a male, sued the Gloucester County School Board that had created a policy the prohibited any student from using a restroom that is contrary to their biological sex. On April 19, 2016, a federal appeals court in Richmond, Virginia, gave permission for this case to go forward as a sexual discrimination lawsuit against the school board. According to the federal court, the basis of the case is Title IX of the Federal law that prohibits sex discrimination at schools that receive federal funding.
We are seeing an ever increasing movement by the LGBT advocates to demand that every phase of American culture; government, churches, business, and education, accept every abhorrent demand that is made to accommodate their chosen lifestyles.
