The results of 70 years of secular humanism is revealing the true state of hearts in American government. Constant emphasis on science as the solution to the Coronavirus Pandemic; very little to no emphasis on turning to the Lord Jesus for His mercy and help.
Science cannot save our nation from the Coronavirus. We do not have a vaccination that will effectively remove its threat. Cries for testing on demand only adds to the pandemonium and fear that people are feeling at this moment. Testing will not eliminate the threat, nor will it make people feel more secure.
In times of trial and calamity in the world, people should turn to God and seek His mercy. In every difficulty we can experience in our life, science can only provide partial help. Even if we cure every infected person on the planet of Coronavirus, these persons will still die someday. Jesus came into the world and demonstrated that He not only has the power to heal every sickness and disease, He also has the ultimate cure to sin and death: His death and resurrection.
Man’s problem has always been sin. Sin is what brought sickness, suffering, and death into the world in the first place. Only by curing the world of all sin, will people no longer get sick or die. Science cannot bring relief from death, and it never will. Imagine if science could end death and we would live forever in our current state of sin. The world would become uninhabitable within a few hundred years.
Understanding Our Need
This is a time for repentance, prayer, and turning to Jesus for help. It is not a time to lift up human wisdom and science as our god and seek help from its supposed power. If you are watching news from around the world, one thing is clear, science does not have answers for this problem. There are many hypothetical solutions, but not one provides the removal of Coronavirus.
It is certain that one of the purposes of the Coronavirus under the sovereignty of God, is to turn people to Him and away from humanism and the worship of science as man’s answer to all of our problems. The only reason that we have science in the first place and mathematics to understand the existence and function of the universe, is because God has given us minds capable of understanding these principles. God created the universe in such a way that we can see His engineering, design, and purpose in its existence. It was the intention of God when He created the universe, to show us by its existence, that He exists.
How God Created The Universe: Science And The Bible In Symmetry
I am certain that God intends that this time of crisis in the world, and in America, is for the purpose of turning people away from their former reliance on science, human wisdom, and education as the answers to all of man’s problems. Our history has revealed that nothing that man has achieved has made him a better being. Despite our advancements in every area of science and education, we are just as much sinners today as we were at the beginning of our fall from God.
Jesus came to earth as God in the body of a man. He lived a sinless life, performed works that only God is capable of, died on a Roman cross for the sins of every person, and rose from the dead on the third day—never to die again. His life, death, and resurrection were predicted by the 400 prophecies of the Old Testament prophets, and He fulfilled every one with precision.
Jesus Is Our Savior, Not Science
Only Jesus’ death and resurrection provides the eternal solution to all of man’s problems. Only Jesus lived a perfect and sinless life so that He could offer it for us and pay the debt the world owes for every sin. Only Jesus died and rose again, never to die again, and proved by the historical record that He is Lord of the universe, healer of every disease, and Master of all human life.
This plague that has overtaken the world is not for our destruction, but it is intended as our teacher. To bring us to our knees and cause us to realize we do not have the power to stop this plague. Nothing that science can do will stop the spread of the Coronavirus, and nothing that science can do will save the lives of those who will die under its power. Only in Christ do we have assurance that we can find healing from this virus, and even if we die—immediately we will find ourselves in the presence of the Lord in heaven, where we will never be sick or die again.
Science cannot save us; only a international turning to the Lord can. This is our moment to change the course of this Pandemic and find mercy, but we must all begin to turn to the Lord and seek His mercy.
If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. ~2 Chronicles 7:14
