The Authority of God in Moral Matters
The starting point for any theological discussion on sexuality or gender must be the authority of God as the Creator:
Genesis 1:27 (NLT): “So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”
This text establishes a binary creation: male and female. Gender, in the biblical worldview, is not fluid or self-assigned, but determined by God at creation. The creation of Adam and Eve is presented not merely as descriptive, but as prescriptive—establishing a divine order for humanity.

Marriage as Defined by God
Genesis 2:24 : “This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.”
This is the first institution of marriage, defined as between one man and one woman. Jesus affirms this definition explicitly:
Matthew 19:4–6: “Haven’t you read the Scriptures?” Jesus replied. “They record that from the beginning ‘God made them male and female.’ And he said, ‘This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.’”
Jesus not only affirms male-female marriage but grounds it in creation—pre-dating Moses, the Law, or culture.
The Argument: “Jesus Never Spoke About Homosexuality or Transgenderism”
This is one of the most commonly used defenses of same-sex and transgender lifestyles. Here’s how that argument breaks down under scrutiny:
Jesus Is Yahweh in the Old Testament
Genesis 19:24 (NLT): “Then the Lord [Yahweh-Jesus] rained down fire and burning sulfur from the sky on Sodom and Gomorrah.”
John 8:58: Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, before Abraham was even born, I AM!” (I AM is the Eternal Name For God)
The Hebrew text says: “YHWH rained fire from YHWH out of heaven” — three persons identified as YHWH. This supports a plurality within the Godhead, and many early Church Fathers, including Justin Martyr and Tertullian, understood this as the pre-incarnate Christ executing judgment.
- It Was Jesus Who Destroyed Sodom And Gomorrah
- Translators Of The Early Koine Greek Texts Of The New Testament, Understood That Jesus Was Yahweh/Jehovah Of The Old Testament
- Evidence That Jesus Is Yahweh/Elohim
So to say “Jesus never condemned homosexuality” ignores His role as Yahweh, who did in fact judge it.
Jesus Condemns Porneia (Sexual Immorality)
Mark 7:21–23: “From within, out of a person’s heart, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality [porneia], theft, murder, adultery… All these vile things come from within; they are what defile you.”
The Greek word porneia includes all forms of sexual sin outside biblical marriage—including homosexual behavior. Jesus doesn’t have to list every specific sin; He uses a comprehensive term rooted in Levitical morality.
Homosexuality in the Old and New Testaments
Old Testament
Leviticus 18:22: “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.”
Leviticus 20:13: “If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.”
These prohibitions are not ceremonial laws, but moral laws, found in the same context as prohibitions against incest and child sacrifice.
New Testament
Romans 1:26–27: “That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men… burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men…”
All of the Old Testament Laws regarding Sexual Sin, were affirmed in the New Testament:
Acts 15:28-29: “For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay no greater burden on you than these few requirements: You must abstain from eating food offered to idols, from consuming blood or the meat of strangled animals, and from sexual immorality. If you do this, you will do well. Farewell.”
1 Corinthians 6:18-20: “Run from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body. Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.
Paul calls this behavior unnatural (para physin)—against the created order.
1 Corinthians 6:9–10: “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality…”
The Greek terms here are arsenokoitai (male bedder) and malakoi (effeminate or passive partner). These are specific, targeted words that reflect the active and passive participants in homosexual acts.
1 Timothy 1:10: “…the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine.”
Transgender Identity and the Bible
While the Bible does not use modern terms like “transgender,” its moral framework speaks directly to the issue:
Deuteronomy 22:5: “A woman shall not wear a man’s garment, nor shall a man put on a woman’s cloak, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.”
This is a creation-based ethic, not merely a cultural one.
The text forbids cross-dressing and gender confusion.
God’s Design Is Immutable
Isaiah 45:9: “Woe to the one who quarrels with his Maker—an earthenware vessel among the vessels of earth! Will the clay say to the potter, ‘What are you doing?’”
Psalm 139:13–14): “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb… Your workmanship is marvelous.”
To reject one’s God-given sex is to oppose the Creator’s intentional design.
Redemption and Grace
It is essential to affirm that the gospel is for all, and transformation is possible:
1 Corinthians 6:11: “Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Paul affirms that people once engaged in homosexual behavior had been forgiven and changed.

The claim that Jesus never addressed homosexuality or transgenderism is a half-truth—and thus deceptive. As Yahweh in the Old Testament, He judged it; in His earthly ministry, He upheld sexual purity, male-female marriage, and affirmed the creation design.
The Bible calls all people to repentance—not to affirm them in their sin, but to redeem them from it. To tell people God approves of sin is not compassion—it is cruelty. Truth, spoken in love, is the only path to freedom:
John 8:32: “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Why is God is fundamentally opposed to gay and transgender relationships? To understand this issue we must look deeper than the surface of individual behaviors and instead examine the underlying theology of creation, covenant, holiness, image-bearing, and eschatology. God’s opposition is not arbitrary or based in cultural norms, but flows from His eternal nature, purposes, and design. Below is a structured, theological analysis.
God’s Nature and the Purpose of Creation
God is a God of Order, Not Chaos
1 Corinthians 14:33: “For God is not a God of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.”
The God of the Bible established a binary and ordered creation: light/dark, land/sea, male/female. This reflects His intentional, rational nature. Transgender ideology, which posits gender as fluid or subjective, and homosexuality, which inverts the male-female design, introduce chaos into God’s order.
Male and Female Reflect the Image of God Together
Genesis 1:27: “So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”
God’s image is not complete in one sex alone—it is revealed in the complementary unity of male and female. The male-female union models the unity and diversity within the Trinity—distinct persons, one essence. Gay and transgender relationships dismantle this image, removing or redefining the complementary unity God designed.
Marriage as a Theological Symbol
Marriage Preaches the Gospel
Ephesians 5:31–32: “As the Scriptures say, ‘A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.’ This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one.”
Heterosexual marriage is not just about companionship or sex—it is a prophetic symbol of Christ (the groom) and the Church (the bride). To alter marriage is to obscure or distort the gospel that it was designed to picture. Gay marriage cannot portray this divine mystery—it flattens the symbol, making it a purely horizontal, human union.
God’s Covenant Pattern and Sexual Ethics
Covenant Requires Distinction and Fidelity
Throughout Scripture, God’s covenants involve distinctions:
- Holy/profane
- Clean/unclean
- Male/female
- Israel/nations
- Creator/creation
Leviticus 20:26: “You must be holy because I, the LORD, am holy. I have set you apart from all other people to be my very own.”
God establishes boundaries to teach His people about holiness. Homosexual and transgender practices erase boundaries, thus violating the covenantal ethic.
Rebellion Against the Creator’s Authority
Sexual Sin as a Form of Idolatry
Romans 1:24–25: “So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired… They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself.”
Paul’s argument: sexual inversion is not just immoral—it is theological rebellion, a visible manifestation of inward idolatry. Transgenderism says, “I will decide who I am.” This is the same rebellion as Satan: “I will be like the Most High” (Isaiah 14:14).
Human Identity: God-Defined, Not Self-Defined
Our Bodies Are Not Our Own
1 Corinthians 6:19–20: “Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit…? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price.”
Transgender ideology teaches that your body is malleable, subject to your internal self-perception. Scripture teaches the opposite: you are stewards of a God-given body, which is sacred and purposeful. To surgically or hormonally alter it is a violation of stewardship and identity.
The Family as God’s Plan for Societal Flourishing
Fruitfulness and Dominion
Genesis 1:28: “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it…”
God’s design for the reproduction of humanity, the structure of families, and the nurturing of children is built upon heterosexual marriage. Same-sex relationships are by nature sterile, and transgenderism confuses parental roles (mother/father). Thus, these relationships undermine God’s blueprint for generational blessing and stability.
The Eschatological Vision: The Restoration of All Things
Revelation 21:5: “Behold, I am making all things new.”
The new creation is not a destruction of God’s design, but a restoration of it. Sexual sin, including homosexual and transgender expressions, is part of the fallen order, not the redeemed one.
Revelation 22:14–15: “Blessed are those who wash their robes… Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral…”
God’s end goal is to purify and restore creation to its intended beauty. Thus, sexual immorality is excluded from the New Jerusalem.
Why God Opposes Gay and Transgender Relationships

God is not anti-person—He is anti-rebellion. His commandments are not arbitrary restrictions but life-giving boundaries to preserve human flourishing, societal order, and divine revelation. The opposition to gay and transgender relationships is not because God lacks love, but because He is love (1 John 4:8)—and love always tells the truth (1 Corinthians 13:6).
Psalm 100:3: “Know that the LORD, He is God! It is He who made us, and we are His.”
When we trust that He knows best, and submit to His authority, we discover the joy of being who we were created to be—not self-made, but God-made.

The Following Post Made On Facebook, Illustrates The Seriousness Of Rightly Defining What God Said About Same-Sex Relationships

Jesus claimed to be Yahweh, the Eternal God, throughout the four Gospels. He began His ministry with the words, “Repent of your sins (Mt 4:17).
The entire purpose of the Bible is to bring people into an awareness that our sins are offensive to God and we must all repent, end them, or we cannot be saved.
In Genesis 19:24, Jesus as the “LORD (Yahweh), went to Sodom and Gomorrah and destroyed all of the men in these two towns, specifically for their Sodomy. This is why the historical record defines Sodomy as sex between men.
Jesus said that “unless we all repent, we will all be lost (Lk 13:3). He does not give special dispensation for LGBTQ persons because they feel they must act on their same-sex attraction. He tells all of us that we must repent of all our sins, end them, and cease to practice them, or we will all be lost.
Jesus said that at the final judgement many will say to Him, “Lord, Lord, and He will say, I never knew you…”
Matthew 7:22-23 “On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who continue to break God’s laws.’
Jesus said that these persons never were Born Again by the Spirit of God, because they refused to repent of their sins and follow Him.
If you continue in your same-sex sins, those that God has clearly defined as a perversion of His intended purpose for His creation; sex between two men or two women, then He will not accept you in your sins, you will be lost forever. Jesus said, “Get away from me, you who continue to break God’s Laws”
The establishment of a new false church in these Last Days, called The Progressive Christian church, is not Jesus’ church that was established by His death on the cross for all sins. It is a new false church that claims that its members, many who are LGBTQ persons, are acceptable to God, because their same-sex relationships are acceptable to God.
Jesus didn’t die for all sins only so that people who will not repent of sins, could remain in them. There is no salvation without repentance.
Jesus has spoken on same-sex sin. He did so in the first book of the Bible, Genesis. Jesus destroyed all the men of Sodom for Sodomy, not for inhospitality or any other reason, but for Sodomy.
Jude and Peter, in the New Testament, confirm that it was Jesus who destroyed the homosexual men of Sodom and Gomorrah because they would not repent.
In Jude 1:5-7, he states that Jesus as Yahweh, led the Israelites out of Egypt, then later destroyed them in the desert because the complained and rebelled against Him:
5 “So I want to remind you, though you already know these things, that Jesus first rescued the nation of Israel from Egypt, but later he destroyed those who did not remain faithful.
Then Jude states that Jesus as Yahweh in the Old Testament, also destroyed the men of Sodom and Gomorrah because they refused to repent from their homosexuality, describing these acts as, “sexual perversion, and immorality,” serving as a warning to everyone that God will not tolerate same-sex sin:
” …And don’t forget Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring towns, which were filled with immorality and every kind of sexual perversion. Those cities were destroyed by fire and serve as a warning of the eternal fire of God’s judgment.”
2 Peter chapter 2, he also confirms that the men of Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by Jesus because of their “shameful immorality, wickedness, and their judgment is an example to us of what God will do in judgment, to everyone who refuses to repent of same-sex sin:
“Later, God condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and turned them into heaps of ashes. He made them an example of what will happen to ungodly people. 7 But God also rescued Lot out of Sodom because he was a righteous man who was sick of the shameful immorality of the wicked people around him. 8 Yes, Lot was a righteous man who was tormented in his soul by the wickedness he saw and heard day after day.”
Stop claiming that you are a “Born Again Gay Christian.” This is not true. Repent of your sins and follow Jesus, and you can be Born Again. He will accept you if you end your same-sex sins.

As I have become more aware (see Mark 13:37), I find the Satanic delusion and deceit so crafty that it becomes easy to believe that you can really live as you wish and still be OK with God. What is alarming is that the Bible, the Word of God, tells us that we are sinful and we should strive not to sin, and repent when we do, which is the opposite message of some churches which is also shocking but not surprising.
But why are we sinful? We are sinful because the bride of Adam was deceived. And through that deception Adam disobeyed willfully and thus sin entered into the world. But notice Satan’s plan starts with the Bride. Eve’s creation came about because of what was taken from Adam. Now it is my opinion, but, not my original thought, that Adam’s side was pierced, after being placed in a deep sleep, so that Eve, a Bride, could be formed. And thus God presented Adam with his Bride.
Why is this point important? Because it foreshadows the crucifixion of Christ in that his side was pierced, after He died – a deep sleep – which lead to the formation of Christ’s Bride the Church – which God will present to Him as a Bride after the Tribulation.
Satan achieved victory over Adam after deceiving his bride Eve. But Satan could not achieve victory over Jesus. So Satan attempts and old strategy – Deceive the Bride. Now Jesus told us not to allow ourselves to become deceived (Mark 13 – the whole chapter) and that we should watch. And, today we can truly see many not watching – reference the parables spoke in Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
In the last days, the Bride (Jesus’ Church) will be rescued when Christ comes for her – The Rapture. Blessed are those that attend the wedding (Revelation 19:9) when God gives Christ His Bride.
So if Jesus can be called the Second Adam, then, The Church can be called the Second Eve – one is Groom; the other a Bride.
Really. All we can do for the lost is pray for them. To believe that you can live in sin without repentance of those sins, and, think you are OK with God is truly a great deception and is quite shocking. Even some Church Leaders themselves (potentially the new Pope) – the elect – have been deceived in this manner as prophesied. So it is not that shocking to me because we were forewarned it would happen. All you have to do is know the prophecy and watch.
I am learning, through Pastor Rob’s writings, that it is better to have God’s approval of a matter than that of men. White washed graves comes to mind.
Thank you Pastor Rob for all you do.
