In the minds of many Jews in Israel and around the world, the arrival of the Messiah will bring a time of peace for the nation of Israel and the Jews, and the rebuilding of the third Temple.
Maimonides — Mishneh Torah:
“If a king arises from the House of David… and he builds the Temple in its place and gathers the dispersed of Israel, he is definitely the Messiah.”
It is interesting that the prophecies of Daniel chapter 9 predict that these two things will happen after the seven-year Tribulation begins. A “Prince” will emerge who will make peace between Israel and the Arab nations that surround the Jews. This event will begin the time of Tribulation that Daniel predicted.
For a long time, I have wondered how Israel could possibly build a Temple under the current threat of war against the Jews that has existed from Iran and her proxies for the past 47 years. The beginning of the U.S. attack on Iran has not only subdued a long-time enemy of Israel, but it has also brought at least 9 other Arab nations into a friendship with Israel. This image shows the Temple Mount area at Jerusalem with the Dome of the Rock. The East Gate is aligned with the opening of the Temple and the Holy of Holies, as required by the blueprints for the Temple’s construction. As U.S. forces began their overwhelming assault on Iran’s air, marine, and ground forces, Iran responded by launching missiles at the Arab state they had been friendly to before the war. This catastrophic mistake by the leadership of Iran gave a clear message to these Arab states that Israel and the United States were not their enemy; Iran is their enemy.
These nations are becoming more friendly toward Israel for several reasons: Geopolitical factors explain why many of these states have moved closer to Israel: Common Iranian threat – Iran’s missile program and proxy militias threaten the entire region. The Abraham Accords alignment – Gulf states such as the UAE and Bahrain have already normalized relations with Israel. A shared intelligence and defense cooperation – missile defense systems, cybersecurity, and intelligence sharing, and Energy and security alliances with the United States, which strongly supports Israel.
This has resulted in a friendship that began with Israel, which did not exist before the war with Iran began. Without realizing the results of these events, the world also does not understand just how important this defeat of Iran and the alliance with so many Arab nations is to the final prophetic events that concern Israel and the Jews. The following nations have been attacked by Iran during the current war:
- Israel – missile and drone strikes against civilian sites.
- Saudi Arabia – missiles and drones targeting oil infrastructure and the U.S. embassy in Riyadh.
- Qatar – missile strikes against U.S. air bases.
- Bahrain – missiles and drones targeting the U.S. Fifth Fleet headquarters.
- United Arab Emirates (Dubai, Abu Dhabi) – attacks on U.S. facilities.
- Kuwait – strikes against American positions.
- Iraq – militia attacks on U.S. bases and allied infrastructure.
- Oman – drone strikes on ports and shipping.
- Azerbaijan – Iranian drone attack on the Nakhchivan region.
- Cyprus – Iranian drone strike against a British base.
It is important to understand that the seven-year Tribulation is the fulfillment of the 70th week of Daniel 9. The first 69 weeks have already been fulfilled; there remains just one more week, one last seven-year period of time. The entire prophecy of Daniel 9:24-27 concerning the 70 weeks is a prophecy given to Israel and the Jews. Not the United States, not the Arab nations, not the Gentile world, just the Jews.
For the past 2,000 years, Jesus has been waiting to return to Earth to establish the kingdom promised to David, because He was giving the people of Earth time to hear what He has done for all of us at the cross, and turn to Him to receive salvation. Peter wrote that this delay in Jesus coming again to remove His church before the Tribulation begins is so that people have time to be saved.
2 Peter 3:9-10 “The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief.”
This 2,000-year delay is so that people can hear what Jesus has accomplished by dying on the cross for all sins, and have the opportunity to repent of their sins and turn to Jesus for salvation. Your family and friends that you want saved, and to be with you in heaven, Jesus wants them there more than you do. This is why He has been waiting to return for so long. But notice the last sentence in that scripture from 2 Peter 3:10: “But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief.”
The “Day of the Lord” is the removal of Jesus’ church from earth before He opens the first seal of the seven seals described in Revelation chapter 6. When Jesus opens the first seal at verse 1 of Revelation 6, the Prince arrives on the scene at the beginning of the seven-year Tribulation to give the Jews what they require as the Messiah. He will make peace with “many nations,” and make the building of the Third Temple on the Temple Mount site at Jerusalem.
As Revelation chapter 6 begins with the start of the seven-year Tribulation, we find Jesus’ church already in heaven in Revelation chapters 4 and 5. How do we know Jesus’ church is there?
- They are wearing the white robes that only the church that has been redeemed by Jesus can wear.
- They are wearing the crowns that Jesus will give to His church for their service to Him after they were saved.
- They are singing a “new song,” one that no one else can sing except the people who have been redeemed by the “blood of the Lamb out of every tribe, tongue, nation, and people.”
Revelation 4:4 “They were all clothed in white and had gold crowns on their heads.”
Revelation 5:9 “And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; for You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
Only Jesus’ church can sing a song about being redeemed from all over the world, by His blood. The angels can’t sing this song. Israel can’t sing this song. The people of Earth can’t sing this song. Only if you have repented from your sins and turned to Jesus as your Savior does His blood cover your sins and make you perfect before God.
This Current War Between The United States and Israel Against Iran Has Opened The Gate For The Final Events to Begin That Will Start The Seven Year Tribulation
This war with Iran makes the possibility of the seven-year Tribulation beginning early next year a real possibility. If the war with Iran continues and the military and Islamic state surrenders, then Israel and the other Arab nations, who were also attacked by Iran, will be able to enter an unprecedented time of peace.
This would allow a leader to come to Israel and, with the cooperation of these Arab nations, give the Jews permission to build the third Temple at the Temple Mount. The Islamic Dome of the Rock currently occupies this Temple Mount site. We know from the work of several Hebrew scholars that there is an area just north of the Dome of the Rock that would perfectly fit the new Temple.
In my Book of Revelation verse-by-verse commentary, I describe all the events of this essay in great detail.
It is interesting that this site, next to the Dome of the Rock, would also allow the historical placement of the Temple to align perfectly with the Eastern Gate of Jerusalem. All former Temples on this site were precisely lined up with the East Gate. Currently, the East Gate has been bricked up, but when the Messiah arrives, according to Zechariah the Prophet, His feet will touch down at the Mount of Olives. He will walk down into Jerusalem and go through the East Gate and into the Third Temple.
The Messiah cannot return until this third Temple has been built, at the Temple Mount site. The events that have resulted from the US/Israeli war with Iran make these events possible for the first time in history!
The seven-year peace plan described by Daniel 9:24-27 requires “The Prince” to orchestrate a time of peace between Israel and many Arab nations. This is precisely what we see happening right now before our eyes. Who is the Prince? He will be the one who orchestrates the peace between Israel and the Arab nations we see now, who have become friends of Israel as a result of the war with Iran.
The Prince of Daniel 9, the one pictured in the image above who opens the first seal of the seven-seal document of Revelation chapter 6, is not the Messiah; he is a false Messiah that the Jews will believe is genuine, but under current deception, they will not recognize this man until the mid-point of the seven-year Tribulation.
At this point, the Prince will enter the Temple he has facilitated building, and go into the Most Holy Place. An image of this man will be built and taken inside the Holy place, where another man, called “The False Prophet,” will command the world to worship the first man, the Prince.
The Third Temple at Jerusalem cannot be Built Until Israel Is At Peace
When the Prince makes his entrance onto the world stage, he will be a mighty warrior who will conquer by peace. He will show such great force and strength that every threat he makes to nations will result in a peace plan. Only Iran will necessitate a brief war to subdue this long-time enemy of the Jews and the nation of Israel. It is likely that the current war with Iran will only last for a short time. The resulting peace that comes after this year could allow for a period of peace for the Jews and the Arab nations around Israel, which has never happened before.
This could begin the seven-year Tribulation, which is specifically for Israel and the Jews. Paul wrote that during this time, “all Israel will be saved.”
If these events are of interest to you, I have published several books that document and record the specific prophecies from the Bible that describe every detail of the current events we are seeing now, and those to come soon.
