There are some who cannot wait for the day. They rise before dawn to meet Me. With their whole heart, they earnestly desire My presence. My word is the first thought of the day and the last meditation of the evening. My thoughts are continually on their mind, and all My will is the constant concern of their heart.
“Hear my voice” is their cry; “according to Your lovingkindness” is their yearning. Before all else they seek Me. Throughout the night they stay awake to watch. “When will You come for us, Lord?” Their constant expectation…
How can I withhold My presence from those who are desperate for Me? Can I keep, from those with such great love, all My goodness?
I feel your longing; I understand your need. I, too, hold in My heart the day when we will be together and walk as friends. How great is My desire for that first moment, when you make your entrance into heaven and I see your radiant smile.
It won’t be long now, and all your trials will be over—the day when you will know the fullness of My love as it encompasses your very being. There is a moment not long from now, when suddenly I will come for you and take you home to be with Me in My Father’s house forever.
I cry out with my whole heart; hear me, O Lord! I will keep Your statutes. I cry out to You; save me, and I will keep Your testimonies. I rise before the dawning of the morning, and cry for help; I hope in Your word. My eyes are awake through the night watches, that I may meditate on Your word. Hear my voice according to Your lovingkindness; O Lord, revive me according to Your justice. They draw near who follow after wickedness; they are far from Your law. You are near, O Lord, and all Your commandments are truth. Concerning Your testimonies, I have known of old that You have founded them forever. ~Psalms 119:145-152
Yes, Lord, this is my desire, to see You face to face and behold Your beauty and love. I want to wake in the morning and start my day with You, pouring out my heart and seeking Your will for the day.
Guide all my steps and fill me with Your presence so that I feel You with every step. Before I lay my head down at night, spend time with me, Lord. Cause my sleep to be peaceful, and remove all the cares and concerns of the day from my mind.
Give me Your peace, Jesus, so that the noise and confusion of this life do not rob me of a quiet spirit that abides because of Your presence in me.
How I love to live my life with a knowledge that You are with me in all things and that You have gone ahead to prepare a place for me. I keep my true home always before me, and I often think of the place You are making—ready for all of us who love You with all of our hearts.
