Daily Devotional: November 8

Don’t Worry:

When you worry about things, it is because you have forgotten who I am and what I am capable of. If you are really all alone in this life, then there would be great reason for anxiety and fear. By yourself, you really don’t know what will happen.

With me there is a certain and incredible future, because I have created you for great things and an enormous, unlimited life. The problem is that you can’t see what’s ahead, and you spend your thoughts and imaginations on fear instead of faith.

Live for your eternal life, and don’t worry about this temporary life. I have already seen all of your days long before you were born. I have planned every one of them, and I will always take care of your needs if you will only trust Me.

When problems and difficulties come along, as they must, I also have solutions for you. There is nothing that you will go through today, or any day, that I have not already thought about and planned for a good purpose.

Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? And if worry can’t accomplish a little thing like that, what’s the use of worrying over bigger things? ~Luke 12:25-26 (NLT)

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. ~Philippians 4:6-7

There is no fear in love; when we understand the Lord’s perfect love for us, it casts out all fear; because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in their knowledge of God’s love. ~1 John 4:18-19 (RCR)

Fear is an ever-present plague upon my heart, Lord. I worry about things that have not happened, and I fear that what I have already done was not good enough. I am concerned about being able to meet my needs because I don’t trust You as I should.

Help me to understand that You know exactly what I need every month and that You promised to take care of all my needs. Remind me that all my success is stored up in Your power to bless my life, even when I am not good enough or strong enough by this world’s standards.

You delight in showing power to the weak, and Your strength is made perfect in our weaknesses. I am more than a conqueror because You love me, Jesus, and You make my ways successful.
