The Ezekiel 38 War — Overview and Key Players
Ezekiel 38–39: A prophetic war where a vast coalition comes against Israel, but is supernaturally defeated by God.

- Where We Are Today In The Prophetic Fulfillment Of All Prophecies Of The Last Days

UPDATE: The U.S. airstrike on the Fordow nuclear site near Qom, Iran—carried out by seven B‑2 Spirit bombers dropping 14 GBU‑57 “Massive Ordnance Penetrator” (MOP) bombs—occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. local time, June 22, 2025 (Iran Standard Time). The Pentagon stated on Sunday, June 22, 2025, that 125 Military Aircraft, delivering 75 Precision Guided Weapons as well as submarines launching 30 Tomahawk Missiles, were involved in this operation.
- Official briefings and intelligence assessments indicate the operation was planned for the pre‑dawn window, typically between 2:00 and 4:00 a.m., to exploit reduced alertness and vulnerable air‑defense conditions .
- According to The Times (via AP/UK reports), the B‑2 bombers departed from Diego Garcia aiming to strike Fordow at around 3:30 a.m. local time.
- Confirmation from Fox News via Trump’s side, and multiple outlets, report six MOP bombs were delivered onto Fordow during this strike.
UPDATE: Monday, June 23, 2025, Iran launched “the same number,”(14?) of ballistic missiles against the Al-Asad American Military Air Base at Qatar, as U.S. Forces used to attack Iran’s Nuclear Sites. This appears to be nothing more than an Arabic “Face Saving” measure.
Importance of Destroying Iran’s Nuclear Capacities
When the prophecy of Ezekiel 38 is fulfilled, there is a confederacy of nations that come together from the North. These nations include, Russia, Iran, Sudan, Ethiopia, Libya and Turkey. All of these nations must come to attack Israel or the prophecy fails.
It is important to understand that it was the former leadership of the Biden Presidency that drove the confederacy of Russia and China together against Israel. God is sovereign and He uses the actions of men to accomplish His will. In every scenario we find in the Bible, the actions of leaders in countries that did not know the God of Israel were directed towards the finality that He determined. Whenever a leader, such as Nebuchadnezzar, thought that he would supersede the will of God, he was humbled, and sometime, removed from his position of power.
Daniel 2:20-21 “Praise the name of God forever and ever, for he has all wisdom and power. He controls the course of world events; he removes kings and sets up other kings.”
Understanding that Iran is a key nation in this attack on Israel, and knowing that as of today, Iran no longer has a nuclear capability, this battle described by Ezekiel 38 must happen very soon. After 30-60 days Iran will likely be under the control of a new government and have vastly diminished military capabilities. They would not be able to come with the other nations named in the Ezekiel 38 prophecy.
The Battle of Ezekiel 38 Can Happen, Either Just Before, or Just After The Rapture
If the prophecy of Ezekiel 38 Prophecy will be fulfilled before the Rapture of Jesus’ church, this Battle most likely will take place within 30-60 days of the bombing of Iran’s Nuclear facilities. At 100 days, we enter the Feast of Trumpets on September 22-24, 2025 when the removal of Jesus’ church is likely. This will cause the Tribulation Period to begin, with the revealing of the antichrist.
War With Iran Is Imminent: The Events Of The Last Days Before Jesus Returns For His Church
The U.S. airstrike on Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility—using seven B‑2 bombers and fourteen GBU‑57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP) bombs—has major implications for Iran’s military, strategic, and prophetic position, particularly in relation to the Ezekiel 38 coalition.
Summary: How the Bombing Affects Iran in the Context of Ezekiel 38
Iran (Persia) in Ezekiel 38
Ezekiel 38:5 lists Persia (modern-day Iran) as one of the key nations that joins Gog (likely Russia) in a massive end-time assault against Israel. The coalition includes:
- Russia (Rosh, Gog, Meshech, Tubal)
- Iran (Persia)
- Libya (Put)
- Sudan/Ethiopia (Cush)
- Turkey (Gomer, Beth-Togarmah)
“Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya are with them, all with shields and helmets.” — Ezekiel 38:5
Iran plays a central role as one of the most ideologically motivated, Israel-hostile members of this alliance.
The Impact of the Fordow Strike on Iran’s Role in Ezekiel 38
Short-Term Setback
- The strike likely destroyed a portion of Iran’s underground uranium enrichment infrastructure.
- It delays Iran’s progress toward a nuclear weapon, possibly by months or years depending on how extensive the damage is.
- Iran’s air-defense systems—likely caught off-guard—may now be exposed as vulnerable to Western stealth capabilities.
This Bombing of The Fordow Site Is Not a Permanent Deterrent
- Bible prophecy anticipates Iran’s continued hostility toward Israel and eventual involvement in a future invasion (Ezek. 38–39).
- Despite military setbacks, Iran’s motivations remain unchanged: antisemitism, Islamic eschatology, and a long-term goal to “wipe Israel off the map.”
- Iran’s regional proxies (Hezbollah, Houthis, and Shia militias) remain operational, and its partnership with Russia and China continues to strengthen.
A Likely Prophetic Outcome
This strike does not eliminate Iran from the Ezekiel 38 equation. Instead, it may:
- Fuel Iran’s rage and accelerate coordination with Russia and other Gog-Magog allies.
- Lead to greater military partnerships with China, Russia, and Turkey in defiance of the U.S. and Israel.
- Encourage Iran to shift nuclear development further underground or to allied nations.
Ezekiel 38:10–11 implies a false sense of peace in Israel before the attack, which could follow this airstrike:
“You will say, ‘Israel is an unprotected land filled with unwalled villages! I will march against her and destroy these people who live in such confidence!’” — Ezekiel 38:11
This bombing delays Iran’s military capabilities but does not derail its prophetic role in the Ezekiel 38 coalition. In fact, it may strengthen the resolve of Iran and its allies, moving the world closer to the precise conditions foretold by Ezekiel:
“Get ready; be prepared! Keep all the armies around you mobilized, and take command of them.” — Ezekiel 38:7

My brother Rob. As the events over the past 18 months, or so, have heightened my awareness and willingness to open my eyes and ears to biblical prophecy, I just came across Psalms 83 again; but this time, from a prophetic perspective, instead, of that as a prayer – which was how I have read it in the past. Can you shed some light on how Psalms 83 may be (potentially) the underlying prayer for the Ezekiel 38/39 war?
Also. Jeremiah 49:34-39 describes judgement against Elam (which is considered southwestern Iran) in which God declares that He will break Elam’s military power, scatter its people, and bring disaster upon them. I am not certain if this was fulfilled by the Greeks (Daniels Prophecies) or meant for the latter days. So for my continued education and curiosity, please share your opinion on this as we see the evacuations taking place in Iran now; and, how that Psalm plays into the Ezekiel 38/39 war.
Thank you for using your vast knowledge and faith in the Lord to share what it is you are seeing through the power of the Word as they match to world events. May God continue to bless you in that regard.
I must say that the Lord has asked us to not be afraid; however, I cannot help feeling the internal tremblings sometimes. Please offer prayers for us sinners my brother as we do the same for each other.
Prayers and blessings always my brother.
The Beginning is truly Near.
