Who Raised Jesus From The Dead? Impeaching The False Assertions of The Jehovah’s Witness And Mormon Churches In Their Trinity Doctrine

One of the primary markers that distinguishes a false religious cult from a true biblical church is what these churches and religions do with the person of Jesus Christ:

A common attribute of all religious cult-churches is the diminishing of who Jesus is. The Bible elevates Christ, but religious cults make Him something far less. The Bible describes Jesus as the Eternal, Living God, who is Yahweh-Jehovah, from the Old Testament. Churches like the Latter-day Saints (Mormons) and the Jehovah’s Witnesses deny that Jesus is Yahweh-Jehovah.

If your church or religion changes any part of the Bible to align with the ideology of your religion, you should run away from that church or religion as fast as possible.

God has once and for all time delivered to us everything we need to know about God, salvation, and how to live our lives, in the Bible.

If you want to impeach the doctrine of the Mormon and Jehovah’s Witnesses, just ask them one question: “Who raised Jesus from the dead?” They will tell you, “God.” When you show them that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—all raised Jesus from the dead, this proves that all three are God—impeaching their claim that Jesus is not Yahweh-Jehovah.

Translators Of The Early Koine Greek Texts Of The New Testament Understood That Jesus Was Yahweh/Jehovah Of The Old Testament

This essay examines the fundamental biblical doctrine of the Trinity and demonstrates how both Jehovah’s Witnesses and Latter-day Saints have changed, added, and removed texts of the Bible to fit their religious ideology. While both of these false religions claim they are “Christian,” they deny the Christ of the Bible. For any church to be a genuine church that Jesus established, they must believe what the Bible teaches regarding Jesus, and not the fabricated ideas of the religion or church that claims to be Christian.

The Jehovah’s Witnesses and the Latter Day Saints are much later productions of a church that both claim that biblical Christianity, according to what Jesus established as “My Church,” was incomplete and lacking. Both of these latter-false churches assert that in the 1800s God gave their leaders a revelation that they should correct and restore what Jesus intended, by the establishment of a new religion.

Let’s take a look at what the Bible says about the doctrine of the Trinity and use these texts to answer an important question: “Who raised Jesus from the dead?”

According to the Jehovah’s Witnesses and the Latter Day Saints, only God, Jehovah-Yahweh, raised Jesus from the dead. What we find when we conduct our own examination of the Bible is that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit all raised Jesus from the dead:

Who Raised Jesus From The Dead?

GOD:

Acts 2:24 — “But God released him from the horrors of death and raised him back to life, for death could not keep him in its grip.”

2 Corinthians 4:14 “God who raised the Lord Jesus…”

The New Testament records that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit raised Jesus from the dead, because all three are God.

1. The Father, As God, Raised Jesus From The Dead:

Romans 6:4 — “…just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.”

Galatians 1:1 — “…Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead.”

2. The Son, As God, Raised Himself From The Dead:

Jesus claimed that He had the authority to raise Himself from the dead;

John 2:19–21 — Jesus said, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”

John 10:17–18 — “I sacrifice my life so I may take it back again. No one can take my life from me. I sacrifice it voluntarily. For I have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up again.”

3. The Holy Spirit, As God, Raised Jesus From The Dead:

Both Peter and Paul state that the Holy Spirit raised Jesus from the dead.

Romans 8:11 — “The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you.”

1 Peter 3:18 — “He suffered physical death, but he was raised to life by the Spirit.”

The Trinitarian Unity

These verses are not contradictory. Instead, they demonstrate the Trinitarian harmony in the resurrection:

  • The Father as God, willed and determined the resurrection of Jesus.
  • The Son as God, exercised His authority to raise Himself from the dead.
  • The Spirit as God was the agent who applied resurrection power to Jesus’ body.

The resurrection of Jesus is the work of the entire Godhead, displaying the unity and cooperative action of Father, Son, and Spirit.

These texts prove that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are One God. These texts from the Bible prove that Mormon and Jehovah’s Witness doctrine regarding the Trinity is in error.

The Early Christian Church Stated That The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit Raised Jesus From The Dead:

Irenaeus (c. 180 AD)

“He [Christ] suffered, and rose again, and ascended into the heavens in the flesh… this is the faith which the Church has received.”⁸

Irenaeus emphasizes that the Father raised Christ, but always in unity with the Son as also God.

Tertullian (c. 200 AD)

“It was the whole Trinity, who raised Christ from the dead: the Father by His authority, the Son by His power, the Spirit by His energy.”⁹

Origen (c. 250 AD)

“He rose again by the divinity dwelling in Himself, yet also by the power of the Father, and the operation of the Holy Spirit.”¹⁰

Augustine (c. 400 AD)

“The Father raised Him, the Son raised Himself, and the Holy Spirit raised Him: it is one work of the Trinity.”¹¹

This demonstrates the historical continuity that the Father, Son, and Spirit are all three, One God.

The Biblical Definition

The resurrection is the supreme example of Trinitarian cooperation in salvation:

  • The Father, as God, declares Christ righteous and victorious.
  • The Son, as God, exercises His authority over death.
  • The Spirit, as God, has the power to transform the mortal body of Christ into an eternal body.

This unified action affirms both Christ’s deity and the coequal role of Father, Son, and Spirit in redemption.
