The Book “One Gospel: Matthew, Mark, Luke, And John, Combined As One Incredible Story” Now Available In A 5 Volume Print And Kindle Edition

When we read through the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John separately, it is impossible to receive all of the information about the events that are being described. Each writer is recording the things that he remembered, while other writers record additional details that were not included in the other accounts. By reading each gospel separately, we miss important details that have taken place.

If we read the four Gospels together at once, we see these little details from each writer, all at one time, and this allows us to understand the story of Jesus in greater detail. An example of how important it is to read all four gospels together at once is observed by the following example.

During the betrayal and arrest of Jesus, we see that Matthew and Mark tell us that someone who was with Jesus took out a sword and cut off the ear of the high priest’s servant. Luke adds that it was his right ear, telling us that the one who did this was likely left-handed. John adds the final detail that the person who did this was Peter, and the servant’s name was “Malchus.”

We wouldn’t know the entire story that took place unless we were able to read all four gospels at the same time.

Chapter 232: The Betrayal and Arrest of Jesus
Matthew 26:47-56 Mark 14:43-52 Luke 22:47-53 John 18:1-12

Matthew
…51 And, behold, one of them who were with Jesus, stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest’s, and took off his ear.
Mark
…47 And one of them that stood by drew a sword, and struck a servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.
Luke
49 When the men who were around him saw what would follow, they said to Jesus, “Lord, shall we strike with the sword?” 50 And one of them struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear….
John
… 10 Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.

This book takes the four gospels and places them before you as a single story so that you can see all that was written about the events that happened during Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. Every one of the 252 chapters in this FIVE VOLUME SERIES that describe the combination of these four Gospels also includes a detailed commentary.

An Example of the Useful Commentary Included in this 5 Volume “One Gospel” Presentation

Luke 1:1-4

“Seeing that many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us, 2 even as they delivered them to us those from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word. 3 It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write to you in order, most excellent Theophilus, 4 that you might know the certainty of those things, wherein you have been instructed.”

Bringing Good News

The world is full of bad news. Every day, we read and hear of the terrible things that people do to other people. We wonder where it will all end. If God truly loves us, then why does He continue to permit evil to permeate the earth and our lives? The good news is that God has done something about the evil that is in the world. Jesus has defeated the forces of darkness that plague our planet. Satan has been vanquished, and very soon his reign of terror on the earth will come to an end. When Jesus returns, there will be no more sickness and death. No one will hurt or kill anyone ever again. From the moment Jesus died and took all of our sins away, freedom began. When Jesus returns, after this long period of God’s patience and grace, He will destroy all evil, and it will never appear on the earth again.

Since the cross of Jesus, God has extended an invitation to the whole world. Any person, regardless of what they have done with their life, can receive the forgiveness of their sins and eternal life.

For the past two thousand years, there have been two choices that are offered to the world: one—choose your own way, follow the lies of the devil, and reject Jesus; two—believe what God said, turn from your sins, receive Jesus’ offer of forgiveness, and have a new life that will last forever.

When this time of God’s grace is at an end, satan will be banished to the Lake of Fire, and he will never be seen or heard from again. Every person who has received the forgiveness of their sins will live in a new and perfect body that can dwell anywhere in the universe. We will live together in perfect love, enjoying the lives that were intended for us from the beginning.

The Old Testament declares that the Messiah will come with this “Good News” (The Gospel). God is ready to forgive all sins and grant eternal life to all who will receive it.

Isaiah 61:1b “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, because the LORD has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted…”

New Testament Fulfillment:

Luke 4:17-18 And Jesus was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written, 18 “The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted.”

It is the specific task of Luke to record the details of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, as accurately and truthfully as possible. Luke declares that since others have written about these events, he felt he should also write about these things, “having a perfect understanding” of what took place. There is no other writer amongst the four gospels who recounts these events with greater precision than Luke.

A Second Chance

The best news man has ever received is that God is willing to forgive our sins. All of us have felt condemnation for the things we have done during our lives. We all know instinctively in our hearts that we have done wrong, and we long for relief from the guilt we feel. Much of Jesus’ teaching in Matthew Chapter 5, called “The Beatitudes,” is about finding relief from the guilt of sin.

Matthew 5:3-4 Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

Blessed or “Oh, how happy” are those who mourn for their sins and who are humble in their spirits concerning their sins, for they shall be comforted.

The Gospel or Good News is that Jesus came as the Messiah to declare that our time of captivity in sin is over. The poor and the brokenhearted, who are referred to in Isaiah 61:1, are the same poor who mourn over their sins, whom Jesus described in the Beatitudes of Matthew Chapter 5.

The Good news that the Messiah brings to those who are brokenhearted, genuinely sorrowful, and repentant over their sins is that “their time of deliverance is here.”

No person must ever carry the guilt for their sins again. All people, for all time, should know for certain that God really loves them and has done everything necessary to forgive all their transgressions through Jesus’ sacrifice.

There Are 252 Chapters and 2,769 Pages in the 5 Volume Print Series of “One Gospel,” That Presents All 4 Gospels Together at One Time, With A Useful Commentary And Messianic Prophecy Application

  1. There will be wars and rumors of wars. When you read that for the first time one does not not normally think of cold wars or trade wars. We normally think of wars like World War II or the wars between Gaza and Israel; but, rarely do we associate that phase with all the possible kinds of wars there can be. For instance, the killing of protestors.

Jesus had it right when He said `Forgive them Father for they know not what they do`. We are grateful for your grace our Heavenly Father.

    Thank you for Brother Rob.
