After Jesus had risen from the dead He told His disciples that everything He had said and done were direct fulfillments of what had been written for the Messiah. The Old Testament scriptures were constructed by God so that the world would know and understand that Jesus is the true Messiah. The fact that the Jews, did not receive their Messiah when He came, was also predicted by the prophets. Jesus held the jewish leaders responsible to know these prophecies and prepare the people for His arrival. The Jewish nation and people failed to recognize that time of their visitation. Jesus pronounced judgment upon their nation in a blindness that would last until the final days. That blindness has continued for nearly 2,000 years. Just 38 years after the nation of Israel rejected their Messiah, the Roman army destroyed Israel and the Temple and disbursed the Jews throughout the world.
Then Jesus said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.” And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures. Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. —Luke 24:44-47
Jesus said that the prophecies of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms, were written for Him. What were these prophecies and how did Jesus fulfill them? I have written two extensive books that detail all of these Old Testament prophecies and demonstrate how Jesus alone fulfilled these words.
It is really quite easy to prove that Jesus is the Messiah from the Hebrew scriptures. In order to miss their application to Jesus one would have to possess the same blindness that Israel has retained for twenty centuries. If you will examine these prophecies that were written from 700-1,500 years before Jesus was born, and compare these to what Jesus actually said and did in the New Testament, you will see that they are unmistakable. Every event that is observed by the narrative of the New Testament, was specifically engineered by Jesus to fulfill each of the 400 Messianic prophecies. Jesus was very careful to be in the right place at the right time in order to ensure that He would fulfill the prophecies of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms.
The following is a list of the prophecies that Jesus fulfilled which are included in the two books that I have written which detail these events. Both are quite extensive. If you have any interest in the Messianic Prophecies of the Bible, these two books will take you on a journey of discovery that will drastically change your view of the Bible and the true identity of Jesus the Christ.
