Hear What I Hear
Imagine for just a moment that you are able to hear all of the cries, all the suffering, every broken heart, and the complete number of persons on earth who are in agony. I hear their cries constantly, and they never end.
All around you, each day, there are silent screams of people who have no one to share their despair with. They appear as if everything is fine, while inside their hearts are broken and hurting. People are very good at hiding their pain; and they will seldom open up to someone they hardly know, much less a stranger.
If you are willing, I can reveal people who are hurting and show you, through the Spirit, those who need a gentle touch. Just a few words of encouragement can comfort a troubled heart. Even if you don’t have an opportunity to speak with these people, you can say nothing at all and lift these dear people to Me in prayer.
I want to make you a part of the work I am doing on earth—to reach people who are lost and forgotten, broken and desperate. Will you be My hands and heart to reach a few who need a caring word of kindness?
The world is full of critical, harsh people today. There are few who are gentle and approachable, who make people feel cared about and important. I am asking you today if you will hear what I hear and help those who need Me?
The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. ~Psalms 34:17-18 (NLT)
This is the message from the one who is the First and the Last, who was dead but is now alive: “I know about your suffering and your poverty…” ~Revelation 2:8-9 (NLT)
Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous. ~1 Peter 3:8
Admit your faults to one another and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of the saved has great power and wonderful results. ~James 5:16 (RCR)
How much You care for us, Lord, to consider what You hear each day on earth—all the suffering and anguish of people. Your power is so great that You can see our sorrow, all our sorrows, and be able to send help to each one who calls upon You.
I do want to be a vessel of healing and to comfort people who are suffering. Help me to hear Your voice as You speak to my spirit and direct me to their side. Give me Your words of comfort and encouragement to bring relief and hope. Allow me to feel compassion for those who need a friend to listen and help bear their distress.
Thank You, Jesus, for making me a part of the work You are doing on earth and for allowing me the great privilege of making a difference in the life of someone today…and forever.
