Save A Few:
Have you ever stopped and stared at the crowds of people who walk down a street or congregate in one place? Do you wonder if they are ready for heaven, or if they consider what happens at the end of their life? I do, all of the time. I thought about this, before I made the world. I contemplated the fate of every person before I came to earth. My love compelled Me to give up My rights as God so that I could rescue a few and change the lives of those who were willing.
You may not be able to save thousands. It might not be possible for you to rescue many. If only you would try and speak to some, perhaps you could save a few.
How you live and what you say matters. The most powerful tool that serves as a witness for Me is how you live your life. People notice when there is someone who doesn’t speak harshly about other people. They see when you do good for those who treat you terribly. They wonder what you have inside that makes you that kind of person.
They will ask you, and then you can tell them that it is Me, living in you, who has made you a new creation.
You must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it. But do this in a gentle and respectful way. ~1 Peter 3:15-16 (NLT)
When I am with those who are weak, I share their weakness, for I want to bring the weak to Christ. Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save a few. ~1 Corinthians 9:22 (NLT)
Don’t worry about how to respond or what to say. God will give you the right words at the right time. For it is not you who will be speaking—it will be the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. ~Matthew 10:19-20 (NLT)
For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures…There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. ~Acts 4:11-12 (NLT)
Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone. ~Colossians 4:5-6 (NLT)
Then he brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.” ~Acts 16:30-31 (NLT)
Jesus, You thought of me, before I ever thought of You. Long before I knew that I was lost, You were already seeking me. Until I opened Your Bible and read what You had done for me, I didn’t know how wonderful You are.
It was the way You treated people that first attracted me to You. Whenever You spoke to the poor and those struggling with their lives, You were merciful and kind. Though evil men beat You, cursed and laughed at You, You remained silent. You took all of their accusations and threats, but You never defended Yourself because You were representing me at my judgment. I was once guilty, and there was nothing I could say to justify myself. As You stood in my place, You took the full force of punishment for my sins, and said only, “forgive them, for they know not what they do.”
When You were falsely accused, no response came from Your lips. You trusted Your life to the Father and depended upon His love. Though evil men tortured You relentlessly, not once did You retaliate or curse them. You stayed the course so that the cross would take away my sins.
Make me a servant who trusts all of my life to You—both good and bad. Allow me to be kind, merciful, and gracious, especially to people who don’t treat me well. Help me to not speak negatively about anyone or criticize them.
Give me Your love, Lord, so that I am able to bless and do good for those who ridicule me. Help me to love people who call me their enemy. Fill me with Your grace so I can bless people who hate me, and pray for those who spitefully use and persecute me. Allow me to do all of these things so that the love You gave me might open their hearts and change their minds, and so You can save a few.
