Daily Devotional: October 27

There Is Forgiveness:

Whatever your sin, there is a solution. Whatever your struggle, there is freedom. I did not come into the world to condemn you because I know that you already feel condemned. I came to provide an escape from the guilt and offer you forgiveness.

The prerequisite to salvation is a willingness to repent from your sins. You cannot come to Me and expect to receive eternal life, if you plan to live the same way you have been living. If you know that what you are doing is wrong and are willing to turn from your sins, I will forgive you and remove your record of wrong. You will feel a release from guilt, and you can start over today as a new person.

In this generation that you live, many people have the idea that since I saved you by grace, I am not concerned about your sins. This is not true. How can you come to Me and understand how much I suffered on the cross because of your sins, and then continue in those same sins? Be willing to walk away from your transgressions, and I will give you a new life that you cannot imagine.

In Jesus we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and common sense.  ~Ephesians 1:7-8 (RCR)

Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?  ~Romans 6:1-2 (NLT)

For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. ~Romans 3:23-25 (NLT)

Yes, I alone am he who takes away your sins for my own sake and will never think of them again. ~Isaiah 43:25 (RCR)

Lord, if you kept a record of our sins, who, O Lord, could ever survive? But you offer forgiveness, that we might learn to fear you. ~Psalms 130:3-4 (NLT)

Lord Jesus, when I see Your life, I am astounded at how pure and righteous You are. It seems that Your power to overcome sin and to defeat sickness and death were because of Your righteous perfection. Without sin, not even death could kill You.

Thank You for being willing to take all of my sins upon Yourself and the punishment I deserved. I never want to take advantage of what You have done for me by living a life unworthy of Your great sacrifice.

Help me to live a pure life and reject all sin. Give me wisdom to understand that all the world holds up as pleasurable and exciting are just chains upon my flesh to shackle me to sin and death.

Real freedom and joy comes by living right and choosing goodness. Thank You, Lord, that Your death and resurrection have broken the power of sin forever. Today I have the opportunity to demonstrate my gratefulness for what You have done. I can live my life above this world and experience the peace that comes from living my life with righteousness, just as You have.
