Learn From The Past:
The purpose of trials and difficulties is training. You learn from mistakes better than from successes. Once you have made mistakes, learn from them and move on. There is no purpose in dwelling on what has already past. Spending time feeling bad or regretting past sins and failures is a colossal waste of time.
All your sins were paid for by My death for you on the cross. Don’t dwell on them and allow past failure to keep you from tomorrow’s successes.
You are not where you need to be yet, because you are a work in progress that I will complete. Remember that I always finish what I start and I will not cease working in your life until I bring you to completion.
In Me, you are already complete and perfectly ready for heaven. The day you committed your life to Me and asked forgiveness for your sins, I made you a new creation.
Run away from thoughts of yesterday and all the things you wish you had not done. Use your mistakes to make your future victories possible. Take what you learned and share your failures and faults with other believers. They will be blessed and encouraged when they hear how you obtained victory over the past by moving on and pressing towards the goal of obtaining heaven.
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. ~Philippians 3:13-14
So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now! This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! ~2 Corinthians 5:16-17 (NLT)
That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our inner strength in the Lord is growing every day. These troubles and sufferings of ours are, after all, quite small and won’t last very long. Yet this short time of distress will result in God’s richest blessing upon us forever and ever! So we do not look at what we can see right now, the troubles all around us, but we look forward to the joys in heaven which we have not yet seen. The troubles will soon be over, but the joys to come will last forever. ~2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (TLB)
Help me today, Jesus, to let go of all my past failures, inadequacies, and works I never finished. Thank You that I have a new life now and all my past has been forgiven and that my record became clean the day I placed all my trust in You.
Work in my life, Lord, and give me wisdom to make good choices and to consider the consequences of all that I say and do.
Place in me a heart of understanding so that I can see what You see and hear what You hear. Allow me discernment in what people say, and teach me to measure everything for truth by what You have written in Your word.
