The Impending Judgement Of God Is About To Arrive

The parallel between the current condition of the human species today, and the behavior of humans just prior to the flood, is stunning. Jesus warned that when we see that people on the earth, degenerate into complete moral failure, the world should understand that the end of the current earth is near.

But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. ~Matthew 24:37-39

Two Things We Learn From Jesus’ Words:

One, Jesus confirms that the flood of Noah and the death of all life on earth by the flood, is a true event that really happened. If you trust in Jesus as your Savior and believe that the narrative about His life, death, and resurrection in the New Testament is true, you should have no problem with the Old Testament accounts of God destroying the world by a global flood. Jesus said it happened.

Two: the end of all life on earth is about to happen again.

It was the hearts of people on earth before the flood, that had become so wicked that every thought and intent was towards evil continually. This is descriptive of a total moral collapse in human society. From this we can understand that God will permit evil on earth to go only so far before His patience ends and judgement arrives.

Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. ~Genesis 6:5

Warnings From Scripture About The Last Days

When Paul wrote instructions to Timothy at the church were he was the leader, he stated that in the last days, certain signs of the end will be apparent, by the actions of human beings who live during that time.

But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. ~2 Timothy 3:1-5

I have lived long enough as a believer in Jesus that I have the benefit of looking back across 44 years of history to see these changes take place. In 1975, during the “Jesus People Movement,” I became a part of a revolution amongst young people who wanted more out of life than this world was offering.

In massive numbers, young men and women all over the western United States were picking up a Bible, reading about Jesus life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, and attending Bible teaching churches. We found a new life and hope in the midst of a world filled with bad news and discouragement.

The consequences of this outpouring of God’s Spirit in the years that followed, changed the entire world. People were hungry to know God and they were seeking Him with sincere hearts.

A Different World

In the past 10 years, I have seen a dramatic reversal in the hearts of people all over the world. No place is this more apparent that in the United States. For the first time in my life, I am seeing thousands of people who once claimed to believe in and follow Jesus, now deny Him and define themselves as Atheists or Agnostics.

Scripture predicted that just prior to Jesus’ return, there would be a massive departure of millions, from a true and saving faith in Jesus.

Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first. ~2 Thessalonians 2:1-3

The Greek word used here for “falling away,” is ἀποστασία apostasia, a depature of faith, ie, in Jesus.

According to the words of scripture, these persons never were true believers, but were deceived by their own hearts, thinking they were the followers of Jesus. We see an example of how this is possible and does take place, by Judas Iscariot in the New Testament. Judas lived with Jesus, walked with Him, saw and heard all that He did.

These people left our churches, but they never really belonged with us; otherwise they would have stayed with us. When they left, it proved that they did not belong with us. ~1 John 2:19 (NLT)

Jesus said that in order to obtain eternal life and obtain heaven, a person must continue with Him until the end.

But he who endures to the end will be saved. ~Matthew 10:22

Paul wrote to the Christians at Corinth that the primary criteria for anyone who claims to be a follower of Jesus, is their faithfulness to Him.

Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful. ~1 Corinthians 4:2

The instrument of measure to determine whether any person is genuinely saved from the moment they claim to trust in Jesus, is whether they remain with Jesus until the end. Those who claim to have once been a believer and now no longer can believe, are liars. According to the word of God, they never were saved. These individuals were self-deceived.

Evidence For Faith

Many of these persons who assert that they finally came to a place where they could no longer believe, will state that they just couldn’t find sufficient evidence to continue. In truth, they reached the end of their charade and could no longer pretend. For those who have diligently and sincerely sought out the evidence for faith which exists today, they have learned that there is and incredible reservoir of proof that cannot be impeached.

The massive written testimony of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection in the New Testament, surviving today by 24,593 manuscript copies of the record of Jesus. This represents a larger surviving body of written work for the life of Jesus, than any other person in the history of the world.
These accounts were written closer to the time of the events, than any other event in the history of the world, secular or religious.
Although there are claimed textual changes or “variants,” in the surviving New Testament manuscripts, upon close examination, we see that these alleged changes are only in spelling errors, grammatical mistakes, punctuation errors, and a few missing words. Not one primary principle of Jesus’ claim to be God, crucifixion for the sins of the world, or resurrection from the dead, have ever been changed during the entire period of the past 2,000 years. The New Testament we have in our possession today, is exactly as it was originally written during the time the events took place.

Latest Scientific Evidence For The Universe

The scientific world has been scurring about for the past few years, trying to figure out how to handle the facts that we now know the universe exists because of intelligent action, not by a natural process.

This reality has so scarred the atheist scientific community that they are now resorting to a new theory for the origin of the universe and human life: alien beings created our universe and fine-tuned it to support human life.

What is incredible about his latest hypotheses is that it is precisely what the Bible has been saying all along: the ultimate Alien Being, God, who possesses unlimited intelligence and technology, created our universe so that it could support human life on earth. He accomplished this by nearly 200 fine-tuned physical constants which are so precisely set that if they were altered by 1 part in 10^40, all life on earth would cease and the universe would collapse in a massive heat death.

Professor Alan H. Guth and his colleagues at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have determined that creating a universe like ours is not only possible, it has likely already taken place. An advanced civilization outside our universe, created ours by their intelligence and incredible technological prowess.

”The odd thing is that you might even be able to start a new universe using energy equivalent to just a few pounds of matter,’ provided you could find some way to compress it to a density of about 10 to the 75th power grams per cubic centimeter, and provided you could trigger the thing, inflation would do the rest.”

Dr. Guth believes that creating our universe from a single piece of matter under the correct pressure and temperature might someday be possible for humans, and has likely already taken place by other advanced beings.

”Such an achievement is obviously far beyond our technology,” he said, ”but some advanced civilization in the distant future might. . . well, you never know. For all we know, our own universe may have started in someone’s basement.”

Having found that our universe could not exist by a natural process, due to the intelligence required to fine-tune our environment, this “other alien beings,” theory is viewed today as a viable solution to the intelligently created universe we live in.

It is likely in the few years ahead, that scientists will abandon the idea of an arbitrarily existing universe and adapt the alien technology theory as the answer for our universe.

Sufficient Evidence To Conclude That God Exists

The Book of Romans begins with a statement that “what can be known about God’s existence, can be observed by the things that He has created, so that man is without excuse.”

As we have grown in our knowledge of the universe, we have learned that this declaration, written nearly 2,000 years ago, is true. God is the source of the universe and He left us a magnificent universe as sufficient proof for any reasonable person to understand that God exists.

When we examine the historical record and see that God has come to earth and has proven His existence to us, in person, we have additional proof that God exists. The New Testament is specific that Jesus clearly claimed to be God, the Creator of the Universe and all that exists. This fact is repeated throughout the New Testament.

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see—such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. ~Colossians 1:15-17 (NLT)

A Perfect Universe, Ruined By Sin

Many people wonder why, if God is omnipotent and can do anything, does He permit a world like ours with so much evil, suffering, and death. What few understand is that this is not the world that God originally created. It was the introduction of sin, a defect in the morality of man, that caused death to all humans and the chaos that is present on earth.

God knew that this would happen when He made the first man. He also knew that only by giving each of us our own choice, could we really know and understand whether we could freely and genuinely love God and be a part of the perfect world that is coming.

Creation has been watching the plight of man on earth. They have seen our perfection at the beginning, and how each person who lives, chooses which path they will take. God does not intervene in our decisions but leaves us with the privilege of determining our own eternal destiny.

Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope, the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay. For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us. We were given this hope when we were saved. ~Romans 8:18-24 (NLT)

God chose a very simple method to save us, by the death of His Son, on a Roman cross, where Jesus took our punishment and satisfied the justice of God which said: “the soul who sins will die eternally.”

This method of salvation is so easy that most people cannot accept it. This method is so offensive to some people; the idea that they are a sinner and condemned by God, that they cannot come in humility and be saved.

God has given the world a certain amount of time to decide what each person will do. About 90 percent of the people who have lived on earth, have rejected God’s offer and they are already held in their prison cell. Amongst blackness and silence, they will live in utter isolation and regret for eternity.

Why is God’s punishement so harsh, and for an eternal duration?

The reward for obeying God’s command to repent and receive Christ, is eternal perfection. The crime for disobedience is equal to the reward in its duration, eternity.

The condition of the present world is our final warning that the judgement of God upon a Christ rejecting world is about to arrive. When this happens, no one will have any more time to change their mind and be saved.

The time for making the wise choice is today. The moment when you can receive all that God has wanted to give you, is now. Do not continue to harden your heart, resulting in your own destruction. Repent now, turn from your sins and receive Christ so that you might be saved and not see the wrath that is coming upon the world.

The Day of the Lord Is Coming: Peter’s Warning To The Final Generation

This is my second letter to you, dear friends, and in both of them I have tried to stimulate your wholesome thinking and refresh your memory. I want you to remember what the holy prophets said long ago and what our Lord and Savior commanded through your apostles. Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.”

They deliberately forget that God made the heavens long ago by the word of his command, and he brought the earth out from the water and surrounded it with water. Then he used the water to destroy the ancient world with a mighty flood. And by the same word, the present heavens and earth have been stored up for fire. They are being kept for the day of judgment, when ungodly people will be destroyed.

But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment.

Since everything around us is going to be destroyed like this, what holy and godly lives you should live, looking forward to the day of God and hurrying it along. On that day, he will set the heavens on fire, and the elements will melt away in the flames. But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world filled with God’s righteousness.

And so, dear friends, while you are waiting for these things to happen, make every effort to be found living peaceful lives that are pure and blameless in his sight. And remember, our Lord’s patience gives people time to be saved. ~2 Peter 3:1-15 (NLT)
