Are The Old Testament Laws Applicable To Christians Today? Are We Required To Keep Them?

How Do The Old Testament Laws of Mixing Fabrics and Crops Relate to Us Today?

In Matthew 5, Jesus said: 17 “Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose. 18 I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved.

In Matthew 5:17-18, Jesus is not saying that every command in the Mosaic Covenant remains binding upon Christians forever in exactly the same form. He is saying that every part of the Law and the Prophets would remain in force until it reached its intended goal in Him.

The Greek word translated “accomplish” or “fulfill” is plēroō (πληρόω), meaning “to fill up,” “to complete,” or “to bring to its intended purpose.”

The Law contained several categories:

Moral laws (murder, adultery, theft, false witness).

Civil laws governing ancient Israel as a nation.

Ceremonial laws involving sacrifices, priesthood, food laws, ritual purity, and symbolic separations.

The mixed fabric and mixed seed laws belong to the Ceremonial laws category.

The Command: Mixed Seed

Leviticus 19:19 ‘You shall keep My statutes. You shall not let your livestock breed with another kind. You shall not sow your field with mixed seed. Nor shall a garment of mixed linen and wool come upon you.

The Command: Mixed Fabrics

Deuteronomy 22:11 “You shall not wear a garment of different sorts, such as wool and linen mixed together.

These commands seem strange to us today because they are symbolic laws rather than moral laws. The principle behind these laws is that Israel was called to be separate from the nations around them. God repeatedly emphasized distinctions between His people and the people in the world who don’t know Him:

  • clean and unclean animals,
  • holy and common things,
  • priests and people,
  • Israel and the nations,
  • sacred and profane.

The physical separations illustrated a spiritual reality. Israel was not to become spiritually mixed with pagan worship and pagan culture. God called people from out of the world that does not know Him, into a new personal relationship where they would belong to the Living God, not the dead false gods of the Canaanite nations.

The mixed garments and mixed seeds were daily visual reminders that God’s people were to remain distinct and holy.

Leviticus 20:26 states the principle precisely:

“You shall be holy to me, for I, Yahweh, am holy, and have set you apart from the peoples, that you should be mine.”

The external separations God was illustrating, pointed to by these commands not to mix, were an internal separation. When Jesus arrived, He fulfilled the intended purpose of these laws of mixing in the Ceremonial Laws of the Israelites, but calling us out of the world, to belong to Him as His special people.

How Did Jesus Fulfill These Laws?

Jesus fulfilled the intent and purpose of the Law by accomplishing the reality that they point to. The New Testament repeatedly explains that believers are now separated unto God, not by clothing, food, or agricultural regulations, but by the work of the Holy Spirit. The symbolism of the Old Testament gave way to the reality of what Jesus accomplished for us. Paul writes to the believers at the church in Colossae:

Colossians 2:16-17 “So don’t let anyone condemn you for what you eat or drink, or for not celebrating certain holy days or new moon ceremonies or Sabbaths. For these rules are only shadows of the reality yet to come. And Christ himself is that reality.”

The Old Testament Ceremonial laws were shadows, illustrations of what Jesus, as the Messiah, would do when He arrived on Earth as a man to fulfill all 400 of the Messianic Prophecies.

Jesus is the Reality of What those Shadows Meant

Similarly, the writer of Hebrews says:

Hebrews 10:1-10 “The old system under the law of Moses was only a shadow, a dim preview of the good things to come, not the good things themselves. The sacrifices under that system were repeated again and again, year after year, but they were never able to provide perfect cleansing for those who came to worship. 2 If they could have provided perfect cleansing, the sacrifices would have stopped, for the worshipers would have been purified once for all time, and their feelings of guilt would have disappeared.
3 But instead, those sacrifices actually reminded them of their sins year after year. 4 For it is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. 5 That is why, when Christ came into the world, he said to God, “You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings. But you have given me a body to offer. 6 You were not pleased with burnt offerings or other offerings for sin. 7 Then I said, ‘Look, I have come to do your will, O God—as is written about me in the Scriptures.’” 8 First, Christ said, “You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings or burnt offerings or other offerings for sin, nor were you pleased with them” (though they are required by the law of Moses). 9 Then he said, “Look, I have come to do your will.” He cancels the first covenant in order to put the second into effect. 10 For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.”

Most People Miss The Fact That The Old Testament Laws Were To Prepare Us For Jesus’ Arrival To Fulfill All Laws

The mixed fabric laws were illustrative lessons teaching us that God has called us to holiness and separation from the world. Jesus fulfilled these laws by creating a people separated unto God through His death and resurrection rather than through ceremony.

Since Jesus Fulfilled The Ceremonial Laws of the Old Testament, Are Christians Bound to the other Laws of Sexual Purity?

This question came up early in the first century when the Apostles were still alive, requiring a meeting to clarify which Laws of Moses Christians must keep. In Acts chapter 15 these men met to make a firm statement and establish this principle for every generation of believer in Jesus.

Acts 15:1 While Paul and Barnabas were at Antioch of Syria, some men from Judea arrived and began to teach the believers: “Unless you are circumcised as required by the law of Moses, you cannot be saved.”

Acts 15:5-6 But then some of the believers who belonged to the sect of the Pharisees stood up and insisted, “The Gentile converts must be circumcised and required to follow the law of Moses.” So the apostles and elders met together to resolve this issue.

The question of whether the Christian church was required to keep all the laws of Moses as they believed in Jesus, was addressed in the Book of Acts, chapter 15. A determination was made by all the Apostles that under the New Covenant of Salvation that was made possible by Jesus’ death and resurrection, the Laws of Moses were no longer applicable to those who believe in Jesus, with the exception of four:

  1. Do not eat meat sacrificed to idols.
  2. Do not commit sexual sin
  3. Do not eat meat where the blood has not been bled out.
  4. Do not drink blood.

Acts 15:11-21 We believe that we are all saved the same way, by the undeserved grace of the Lord Jesus… And so my judgment is that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God. Instead, we should write and tell them to 1. abstain from eating food offered to idols, 2. from sexual immorality, 3. from eating the meat of strangled animals, and 4. from consuming blood. For these laws of Moses have been preached in Jewish synagogues in every city on every Sabbath for many generations.

The Old Testament laws of sexual purity among believers in Jesus were crucially important. God sees what a person does with their body as a personal issue. When we turn from our sins to Jesus (without repentance, there is no salvation), the Holy Spirit comes to live in us. We take the Lord with us in everything we say and do. For this reason, sexual sin is offensive to God. He lives in us, and He does not want to be brought into sexual sin that we commit.

For this reason, the laws of the Old Testament that prohibit sexual sin are still applicable to the Christian today. If you intend to follow Jesus and be saved, you must first repent (end) your former sins. This includes fornication (sex outside marriage), adultery (sex other than your spouse), and same-sex sin (homosexual, lesbian, transgender sex).

God established these laws early in the Old Testament, and He has never ended or amended these laws. Many people say that sex between two men or two women is “holy” to God, but this is a revisionist idea that the Bible never supported.

The Assertion That Jesus Said Nothing About Same-Sex Relationships

Today, it has become necessary to teach the Old Testament laws regarding sexual purity and clarify what this term means. The reason is that today we have a newly created church that claims to be “Christian,” but denies what the Bible teaches, substituting the opinions of people and what society demands.

This new church is called “The Progressive Christian Church.” Notice the changes to what the Bible has taught regarding sexual sin, since God first authored these texts:

In the Progressive church, sin is any personal or systemic condition that prevents a person from flourishing, harms others, or obstructs love, rather than a direct violation of God’s fixed moral law requiring judgment, repentance, and ending sin.

The newly established twenty-first century Progressive Christian Church has eliminated the need for repentance from sexual sin in its organization. The following is a published statement by the “Reformed Church in America” that calls the historical Christian Church to repent, not LGBTQ individuals to repent:

It is time for the church to repent of its sinful assumption-making about people of homosexual orientation… It is time to bless holy relationships… between same-sex partners.”[1]

Progressive theological teaching often defines repentance (Greek metanoia) not as turning from sin, but as a change in consciousness or relationships: Repentance is “more an awakening of consciousness… restoration of right relationships… less about… moral wrongdoing.”[2]

The Bible has always been clear in its message: God is offering forgiveness of all sin and a personal relationship with the Living God if we will repent of our sins and trust in Jesus for our salvation. For twenty decades, people have understood that sexual sin is an offense to God.

Did Jesus Say Anything About Same-Sex Relationships?

First, we must ask a person if they know who Jesus is, and when did He begin His existence. When we are a serious students of the Bible, it becomes clear that Jesus did not begin His existence in the New Testament, being born at Bethlehem. He has always been Yahweh, the Eternal God, seen throughout the Old Testament.

One of the most important places we find Jesus in the Old Testament is in Genesis chapters 18 and 19. In these texts, Yahweh, in the Hebrew, is indicated in the Old Testament as LORD, all caps. When we arrive at the New Testament, we find that Jesus, in the original Koine Greek language that the New Testament was written in, is called Lord, Kurios.

The translators of the Koine Greek texts into English understood that the LORD of the Old Testament, Yahweh, is the same as Jesus, Lord, Kurios, in the New Testament. Early first-century readers of the Koine Greek texts of the New Testament had no doubt that Jesus was Yahweh from the Old Testament. It is surprising today how many people don’t know this about Jesus. They think He is merely a man, born in Bethlehem, who was a great spiritual teacher who did good and loved people.

It is Jesus as The LORD-Yahweh, in Genesis 19:24, destroyed all of the men of Sodom for their Sodomy, because they wouldn’t repent of their homosexual sin.

Jesus did not begin at Bethlehem. He has always been Yahweh, the Eternal God. Jesus, as Yahweh, destroyed Sodom, the origin of the word for “Sodomy,” same-sex sin.

“Then the LORD (Yahweh-Jesus) rained down fire and burning sulfur from the sky on Sodom and Gomorrah. He utterly destroyed them.” Genesis 19:24-25

Jesus has already judged same-sex relationships as sin. This is proven by Genesis 19:24.

The idea that Jesus said nothing about gay or transgender persons is false. Destroying the men of Sodom for the sin of Sodomy is definitive.

John says that Jesus is the “Word of God,” which defines Him as the author of the entire Bible. In Leviticus 18:22, Jesus wrote: “Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin.

First, Jesus wrote in Leviticus 18:22, that a man is not to have sex with another man:

Leviticus 18:22 “Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is an abomination”.

Then Jesus pronounced the penalty of death for men who refused to repent of their homosexual acts:

Leviticus 20:13 “If a man practices homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman, both men have committed a detestable act. They must both be put to death, for they are guilty of a capital offense.

This is why Jesus went to Sodom and carried out the judgment of death for all the men of Sodom, because they refused to repent and end their Sodomy.

Jesus also said in Matthew 15:19-20, “that homosexual acts (porneia) defile a man.”

Jesus said in Mark 10:6-8 that “from the beginning” God created male and female and only these two are allowed by God to engage in sex, as husband and wife, for life.

This is confirmed in the New Testament by Jude and Peter:

“I want to remind you, though you already know these things, that Jesus first rescued the nation of Israel from Egypt, but later he destroyed those who did not remain faithful….And don’t forget Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring towns, which were filled with immorality and every kind of sexual perversion. Those cities were destroyed by fire and serve as a warning of the eternal fire of God’s judgment.” ~Jude 1:5-7

“God also rescued Lot out of Sodom because he was a righteous man who was sick of the shameful immorality of the wicked people around him. Yes, Lot was a righteous man who was tormented in his soul by the wickedness he saw and heard day after day…God is especially hard on those who follow their own twisted sexual desire and who despise authority.” ~2 Peter 2:7-10

Jude and Peter in the New Testament confirm that the sin of Sodom was Sexual perversion, not inhospitality.

God has made it clear that same-sex sin will exclude a person from heaven.

1 Corinthians 6:9 states that homosexuals and sodomites will not inherit the kingdom of God (heaven).

malakos (transgender), arsenokoitēs (sodomites), like the men of Sodom whom Jesus destroyed in Genesis 19:24, because they would not repent.

Historical Jewish and Early Christian Conclusions In Jewish Intertestamental and Rabbinic Literature:

The Book of Jubilees 16:5–6 and Testament of Naphtali 3:4–5 describe the sin of Sodom as unnatural sexual relations, not inhospitality.

Philo of Alexandria (1st century Jewish philosopher) writes that the Sodomites “lusted after one another” and engaged in shameless acts of sodomy.

The Early Church Leaders:

Josephus, Antiquities 1.194–195: Sodom was destroyed because of “practices of unnatural lust.”

Tertullian, Ambrose, Jerome, and Augustine – all refer to Sodom as punished for sexual sin, not social misconduct.

Jesus died for sinners, but we must repent of all sexual sin and live new lives of Holiness, born by the Spirit of God. Jesus has given you His laws regarding what is right concerning your body and your life. You say these laws don’t apply to you.

“Even though I gave them all my laws, they act as if those laws don’t apply to them.” ~Hosea 8:12

The Progressive Christian Church Redefines The Old Testament Law of God Regarding Sex Between Men.

Notice the LGBTQ apologists’ view of the clear texts from Leviticus 18 and 22 that prohibit sex between men with the penalty of death as the judgment by God: He says the texts of Leviticus 18 and 20 do not condemn homosexuality, it “prohibits a man from being treated as a woman.” Do you see this in the texts of Leviticus 18 and 20?

Notice that the text of Leviticus 18, which clearly defines sex between two men as an abomination, says nothing about treating a man as a woman.

Leviticus 18:22 “Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is an abomination”.

Leviticus 20:13 “If a man practices homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman, both men have committed an abomination. They must both be put to death, for they are guilty of a capital offense.

The texts of Leviticus 20 that pronounce death as the penalty for homosexual behavior are not even mentioned in the context of this LGBTQ apologists’ view of the texts.

Another new phenomenon has arisen today that was formerly unknown: the modern homosexual apologist. These persons seek to defend homosexual and lesbian sexual relationships by redefining what the 3,000 year old texts of the Bible have recorded. The newest assertion that I have heard recently from LGBTQ Apologists is that the men of Sodom were not engaged in anal sex. It wasn’t homosexuality that caused them to be destroyed; it was inhospitality, gluttony, and being otherwise, mean hosts.

What Was The Sin Of Sodom?

Advocates for same-sex relationships often cite inhospitality as the reason God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. The claim that Yahweh did not destroy Sodom and Gomorrah for sodomy, but only for inhospitality, is a revisionist interpretation that lacks textual support and contradicts both the Old and New Testament records.

This argument, common among progressive theologians and some modern critics, originated as a way to minimize or reinterpret the clear biblical condemnation of homosexual acts.

Biblical Textual Evidence That Refutes the “Inhospitality” Argument

Genesis 19:4-5 “But before Lot retired for the night, all the men of Sodom, young and old, came from all over the city and surrounded the house. They shouted to Lot, “Where are the men who came to spend the night with you? Bring them out to us so we can have sex with them!”

Genesis 19:4-5 “Now before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both old and young, all the people from every quarter, surrounded the house. And they called to Lot and said to him, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally.”

The Hebrew word translated “know” is yadaʿ (יָדַע), which has a clear sexual meaning in many biblical contexts (used over 900 times in the Old Testament).

In Genesis 4:1, “Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived…” clearly indicates sexual relations.

Lot’s response in Genesis 19:7–8, where he offers his daughters who “have not known a man,” confirms that the intent of the mob was sexual: “Do not act so wickedly… I have two daughters who have not known any man.”

Impeaching The Hospitality Assertion

Offering hospitality was already extended by Lot (Gen. 19:1–3).

The mob’s crime was not neglecting hospitality—it was the violent demand for homosexual rape.

Jude 1:7: The New Testament Confirmation: “And don’t forget Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring towns, which were filled with immorality and every kind of sexual perversion. Those cities were destroyed by fire and serve as a warning of the eternal fire of God’s judgment.

The Koine-Greek text makes the meaning of this text in Genesis 19:1-3, clear:
The Greek word, ekporneusasa (ἐκπορνεύσασα) means: “sexual immorality”

The Greek reads: “apelthousai opiso sarkos heteras” (ἀπελθοῦσαι ὀπίσω σαρκὸς ἑτέρας): “going after strange flesh” – commonly understood by Greek scholars as pursuing unnatural sexual desires (homosexual acts).

Jude connects the sin of Sodom with sexual perversion, not with bad manners or hospitality issues.

2 Peter 2:6–8 – Righteous Lot Was Distressed by Lawless, Sensual Conduct

2 Peter 2:5-8 “God condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and turned them into heaps of ashes. He made them an example of what will happen to ungodly people. But God also rescued Lot out of Sodom because he was a righteous man who was sick of the shameful immorality of the wicked people around him. Yes, Lot was a righteous man who was tormented in his soul by the wickedness he saw and heard day after day.”

The phrase “shameful immorality” (aselgeia – ἀσέλγεια) refers to sexually unrestrained, licentious behavior.

Peter’s use of these terms in the Greek language is consistent with sexual sin, not “inhospitality.”

Leviticus 18:22: “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.”

Leviticus 20:13: “If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.”

These laws were given after Sodom, but the sin of Sodom is depicted as one for which God judged the sin of Sodomy beforehand, indicating its severity.

Answering the “Inhospitality” Misinterpretation

Origin of the Misinterpretation: This argument largely stems from progressive interpretations, such as those in John Boswell’s book, Christianity, Social Tolerance, and Homosexuality (1980), where he argues that the sin of Sodom was inhospitality, not homosexuality.

The Ezekiel 16:49–50 text is cited in modern LGBTQ-affirming theology as a reinterpretation of biblical morality. Critics often cite this as “proof” that the sin of Sodom was something other than sexual:

Ezekiel 16:49–50: “Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy. They were haughty and did an abomination before me. So I removed them, when I saw it.”

While the text highlights social injustice, it ends by stating they “did an abomination”—a term consistently used in Scripture to describe sexual immorality, particularly homosexual acts (cf. Leviticus 18:22).

The Hebrew word for abomination here is תּוֹעֵבָה (toʿevah), used in Leviticus for male-male intercourse.

Ezekiel describes multiple sins, including injustice and pride. But it confirms that the final offense—the one for which God judged them—was an abomination, consistent with homosexual perversion.

The biblical text that is used to try to prove this point is Ezekiel 16:48-50. The problem with citing these texts in Ezekiel as proof that the sin of Sodom was inhospitality, not same-sex sin, is that Ezekiel is not talking about Sodom; he is describing the sins of Israel and the Hebrew people. The Canaanite god, Molech, the offering of babies upon his fiery hot arms

God called Israel to be His special people, separate from all the nations and people of the earth. When God led the Israelites into the land of Canaan, he instructed them to not worship the gods of the Canaanites, who murdered their children on the fiery hot arms of their god Molech. He told the Israelites to not to conduct themselves as the Canaanites did in sexual perversion, debauchery, and immorality.

Canaanite kings forcibly married their sisters. Young boys were kept as sex slaves and temple prostitutes at the temples of Canaanite gods. The Canaanite god, Anath, was a combination of sister and spouse as a goddess who was a mirror image of the deviant practices of Canaanite kings.[3]

The Canaanite goddess, Qudshu, “the Holiness,” is seen as a perverted moral goddess riding nude on the back of a lion, with a lily in one hand and a serpent in the other, seeking sex with her worshippers. Male prostitutes were dedicated to the sex cult of the Qudshu, offering themselves to this goddess in her honor.[4]

The vast number of Canaanite gods in Ugaritic epic literature displays the depth of depravity that characterized the Canaanite people and their demonic religion. Rooted in a debasement of normal human morality, Canaanites considered nothing off limits in the expression of their evil and licentiousness. Canaanites practiced barbaric rituals of murder while in mass orgies, as a part of their religious ceremonies.

Psalms 106:37-38 describes the gods of the Canaanites as “demons” whom they sacrifice their sons and daughters to on the altar of Molech. “They even sacrificed their sons and daughters to the demons. They shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters. By sacrificing them to the idols of Canaan, they polluted the land with murder.”

By the time that God sent Ezekiel to the Israelites, they were practicing all of the perversions that the Canaanites were used in the worship of their pagan gods. God’s people had given themselves to every perverted and evil practice of the pagan nations around them.

The NLT version is very descriptive of the text that proponents of same-sex relationships cite as proof that Sodom’s sin was inhospitality, not sexual sin:

Ezekiel 16:1-3 “Then another message came to me from the LORD: “Son of man, confront Jerusalem with her detestable sins. Give her this message from the Sovereign LORD: You are nothing but a Canaanite!”

Notice the context of Ezekiel chapter 16: Israel, Jerusalem, the Israelite people, and their “detestable sins,” like those of the Canaanites.

Ezekiel 16:20-21 “Then you took your sons and daughters—the children you had borne to me—and sacrificed them to your gods. Was your prostitution not enough Must you also slaughter my children by sacrificing them to idols?

The reason that God brought judgment to the nations of Canaan was due to their perversity in how they lived their lives. The offering of newborn babies to the god Molech was a common practice of the Canaanites. The people that God had called as His own, after they came into the land God promised them and they began to prosper, the Israelites copied the evil that the Canaanites had long practiced, the worship of Molech by murdering their babies to please their pagan god, and the sexual sin of men with men and boys.

The Three Parts Of God’s Law To The Israelites:

ONEThe Ceremonial Law was specifically given to Israel for worship (Leviticus). These laws were instituted for the purpose of preparing the Israelites for the time when their Messiah would arrive, and ended with the appearance of Jesus as the Messiah. These laws described and regulated the procedure for sacrifices and the requirements that were necessary because of sin. The believer in Christ today no longer must keep the ceremonial laws of Moses because Christ has fulfilled all of these for us.

TWOThe Civil Law was applicable to the Children of Israel for their daily living (Deuteronomy 24). The body of these laws is the primary source of misunderstanding for many people today. These civil laws were only for the Israelites and are not applicable to believers in Christ today. While the principles behind these laws still have an enduring benefit for everyone today, their actual strict observance is not required. Many of the principles of these laws are highlighted in the text of the New Testament as proper behavior for those who trust in Christ.

THREE: The Moral Law is illustrated by the Ten Commandments. They are the direct commandments of God, and demand obedience (Exodus 20:13). These laws are applicable for every generation and will never end. These Moral laws include all prohibitions by God for adultery, fornication, homosexuality, lesbianism, and transgender sexual relationships. LGBTQ persons did not get a special exemption from God.

The question for us today is whether God expects us to also keep the Ceremonial and Civil laws described by Leviticus and Deuteronomy.

This question came up not long after the Christian church began in the first century. The Jews who observed Gentiles coming to Christ insisted that they also keep the laws of Moses.

At the Jerusalem Council of Acts 15, this is precisely why the apostles did not require Gentile believers to obey these laws at the Council of Jerusalem. They did, however, uphold all the Old Testament Law regarding what God approves of as proper sexual relationships. Only one man and one woman, in marriage, for life, is defined by God as a proper sexual relationship.

If the mixed fabric laws remained covenant obligations for Christians, that council would certainly have included them among the requirements imposed on Gentile converts. If the Old Testament laws regarding sexual relationships, fornication, adultery, homosexuality, lesbians, and transgender relationships, were REDEFINED, the First Century Apostles would have written this in Acts 15.

The fact is that the laws regarding sexual immorality that the Old Testament established have remained since the first century and will remain forever.

  1. The sacrifices pointed to Christ’s sacrifice.
  2. The Passover pointed to Christ’s death.
  3. The priesthood pointed to Christ’s priesthood.
  4. The Temple pointed to Christ’s presence.
  5. Circumcision pointed to circumcision of the heart.
  6. The mixed fabrics and mixed seeds pointed to the holiness and separation of God’s people.
  7. The reality arrived in Christ, and therefore the shadow had fulfilled its purpose.

This is exactly what Jesus meant when He said:

“Not even the smallest letter or one tiny pen stroke shall in any way pass away from the law, until all things are accomplished.”

The law did not fail. The law succeeded.

Every sacrifice, every feast, every priestly garment, every dietary regulation, every purification ritual, every prohibition against mixing, every ceremony, and every symbol reached its intended destination in Jesus Christ.

  1. From the beginning Satan has twisted God’s words and mankind has listened. The LGBTQ sinners will also twist all of God’s words in order to relieve themselves from condemnation. They want God but they want their lusts of the flesh more so they twist God’s word to fit their sin. Very few of them will leave their selfish sexual lusts and desires for the Lord and his salvation. Just as Jesus said:
Matthew 7:13-14 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
