For many years, I have begun my day with a devotional in the Bible. I read the chronological texts as they happened, detailing all the events of the Bible from a perspective of when these things took place.
This morning, the portion of scripture I read was from the Book of Habakkuk. In chapter 3, beginning at verse 2, Habakkuk writes concerning Judah:
“I have heard all about you, LORD. I am filled with awe by your amazing works. In this time of our deep need, help us again as you did in years gone by. And in your anger, remember your mercy.”
In a prophetic sense, Habakkuk was talking about two events of God’s wrath that will take place. An earlier event when He destroys Israel and Judah, and a later event in the Last Days when He destroys the world during the seven year Tribulation.

As of today (July 18, 2026), there are 55 days until Rosh Hashanah begins.
In 2026, Rosh Hashanah (the Feast of Trumpets) begins at sundown on Friday, September 11, and continues through nightfall on Sunday, September 13.
If you have read my books on Rosh Hashanah, the Feast of Trumpets, and the Rapture, you know that Jesus precisely fulfilled the first four Feasts of the Lord on the exact day and in the precise way these Feasts required.
Jesus died on Passover as the Passover Lamb. He lay unraised from the dead during the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Jesus rose from the dead exactly three days later on the Feast of First Fruits. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit on the precise day that the Feast of Pentecost was observed. Why did Jesus fulfill each of these first four Feasts precisely on the right day?
In my Book, “The Feast of Trumpets and the Rapture,” I explore this stunning reality in great detail.
Since Jesus precisely fulfilled the first four Feasts on the exact day, will He return to fulfill the 5th Feast of Trumpets during Rosh Hashanah, removing His church from Earth and beginning the Seven-Year Tribulation?
This morning, as I was reading Habakkuk 3:2, the Holy Spirit spoke to my mind and reminded me that as Judah was about to experience the time of God’s Wrath being poured out on the nation, so also will the beginning of the Tribulation Period be a time of this same Wrath.
Revelation 6:16-17 Then (the people in the Tribulation) said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”
Then the Spirit spoke to my spirit and asked me, “How many days till Rosh Hashanah?” I looked and counted and discovered that it is 55 days until sunset on September 11, 2026. This will begin the Feast of Trumpets, Rosh Hashanah, in 2026.
The number 5 in the Bible is often associated with God’s grace, favor, goodness, and provision; this is an inference from repeated biblical patterns. There are several examples that illustrate this pattern in scripture.
The Five Books of Moses
The Torah consists of five books:
Genesis
Exodus
Leviticus
Numbers
Deuteronomy
These five books reveal God’s gracious covenant with Israel, His provision of redemption, His Law, and His promise of the coming Messiah.
The Five Principal Sacrifices
Leviticus begins with five major offerings:
Burnt Offering
Grain Offering
Peace Offering
Sin Offering
Trespass (Guilt) Offering
Together they portray God’s gracious provision for fellowship and forgiveness, ultimately fulfilled in Christ.
David Chose Five Smooth Stones
In 1 Samuel 17:40, David selected five smooth stones before confronting Goliath.
Although David only needed one, many expositors have viewed the five stones as illustrating that victory came through God’s provision rather than David’s strength. Scripture itself does not assign symbolic meaning to the number here, but the event certainly demonstrates God’s grace and power.
Five Loaves Fed Thousands
Jesus fed over 5,000 men in Matthew 14:17-21 with:
Five loaves
Two fish
This miracle displays God’s abundant provision and grace.
The Fifth Commandment
The Fifth Commandment reads: “Honor your father and your mother…” This is called by Paul: “the first commandment with promise” (Ephesians 6:2)
Again, a connection with blessing and grace.
The Tabernacle
Measurements of the Tabernacle repeatedly involve multiples of five.
Examples include:
Curtains joined in groups of five (Exodus 26:3)
Pillars arranged in fives
Courtyard dimensions are built around multiples of five
Some expositors see these repeated measurements as emphasizing God’s gracious dwelling among His people.
Abraham’s Intercession
Abraham pleaded with God five times over Sodom by reducing the number of righteous required in Genesis 18:24-32:
50 → 45 → 40 → 30 → 20 → 10
His first reduction is by five, illustrating God’s willingness to show mercy if even a small number of the righteous remained.
The New Testament Application
Jesus often grouped people or blessings around the number five.
Examples include:
Five loaves
Five wise virgins and five foolish virgins (Matthew 25)
Five talents entrusted to one servant (Matthew 25)
These texts concern stewardship, readiness, and God’s generous provision.
Is “Grace” the Official Meaning of Five?
Many conservative Bible teachers have suggested that five symbolizes grace, including figures such as E. W. Bullinger and J. Dwight Pentecost. However, it is important to distinguish between biblical observation and biblical doctrine. Many significant events involving the number five center around God’s gracious dealings with people using the number 5.
Habakkuk’s prayer in 3:2 is remarkable because it is offered at a time when judgment is certain. God has already revealed that the Babylonians are coming. Habakkuk does not ask God to cancel His righteous judgment. Instead, he prays: “In your anger, remember your mercy.” (Habakkuk 3:2)
That prayer recognizes two truths simultaneously:
God is perfectly just.
God delights to show mercy, even while executing judgment.
Throughout Scripture, the Lord repeatedly demonstrates this pattern.
- Before the Flood, Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord (Genesis 6:8).
- Before Sodom was destroyed, Lot was rescued.
- Before the tenth plague fell on Egypt, Israel was protected by the blood of the Passover lamb.
- Before Jerusalem fell to Babylon, God continually called His people to repentance through the prophets.
- Before the Tribulation, the New Testament repeatedly calls people to repentance and faith in Christ.
When the Spirit asked me, “How many days till Rosh Hashanah?” He knew this would move my thoughts toward the Feast of Trumpets, and the 55 days till this 5th Feast begins. A coincidence?
I never set dates for the return of Jesus or the beginning of the Tribulation. I do, however, notice when events of the Last Days parallel events described by the Bible for the last of the Last Days. Do I think Jesus will return for His church in 2026, in just 55 days at the beginning of Rosh Hashanah? I don’t know,
The prophet Habakkuk notices in his time by the words: “In this time of our deep need, revive Your work… In wrath remember mercy.”
That prayer harmonizes with the New Testament’s repeated exhortations to remain watchful, holy, and expectant. Jesus repeatedly told His disciples to “keep watch,” not because they could calculate the day, but because they should always be ready (Matthew 24:42–44). Peter similarly wrote that “the end of all things is at hand,” urging believers to live sober, prayerful lives (1 Peter 4:7).
In my Book The Feast of Trumpets and the Rapture, I lay out what the Bible states for the Feast of Trumpets and how Jesus was following this roadmap when He was on Earth early in the first century.
Habakkuk closes his book with one of the greatest declarations of faith in all of Scripture:
“Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the LORD! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! The Sovereign LORD is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights. (Habakkuk 3:17–19)
That is the heart of biblical watchfulness: expecting the Lord, praying for His mercy, trusting His sovereign purposes, and rejoicing in Him regardless of the circumstances.
Is Hearing The Spirit Speak To Your Mind a Biblical Principle?
The Holy Spirit does communicate with believers. Romans states, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God.” (Romans 8:14) And: “The Spirit speaks to our spirit that we are children of God.” (Romans 8:16)
In the same way, Jesus said that His sheep hear His voice and follow Him (John 10:27), and the New Testament repeatedly speaks of the Spirit leading, convicting, comforting, reminding, and giving wisdom to believers (John 14:26; 16:13; Acts 13:2; Galatians 5:18).
It was on May 13, 2025, that the Lord spoke to me the details that I published in two books (below) that described the events of the Last Days. I have not heard anything from the Lord since that time, until suddenly, today, I received these details that I am writing to you in this essay.

The Beginning is Near!

Consider the following scripture from Matthew 24:36 (NIV):
The scripture makes a plain point. No one knows the day or hour. But is that a general statement or a clue or both?
But first lets consider the entire verse. It also says nor the Son. So I will ask a really easy question to answer. So if God knows all things, then how can the Son Of God be considered God when He does not even know the day of His return? Surely God knows all things right? But I digress and poke mockery at the one who does not have the answer since the Bible has the answer to this question.
Now anyone could go google using the following question: How could the Son of God being God who is suppose to know all things not know when He will return? But, scripture has already given the answer. The Bible teaches us this answer and it is the Holy Spirit that make understanding available to us as our helper (2 Timothy 3:16-17 and John 14:26).
See Philippians 2:7-8 for the answer to this really easy question to answer.
Now let’s consider that verse more closely. It is true that no one knows the day or hour as a general statement but is it also true that it is a clue as well? So is it also a clue?
To answer No to this question also suggests that the Feasts of Lord were not something that was meant to be fulfilled. But we have evidence that they were. Consider. (You can also google What are the Seven Feasts of the Lord)

So we know from the study of Scripture that Jesus fulfilled the first four Feasts on the First coming. He was the Passover Lamb, He lay un-risen in a tomb for three days, He was resurrected on the third day and become the First Fruits of the New Kingdom, and He brought the Holy Spirit exactly 50 days later which begin the Church (or the wheat that was to be harvested).
And we know that He will fulfill the remaining three on His second coming.
The Feast of Trumpets is the next Feast to be fulfilled and it is a Fall Feast. It is my belief that when Jesus said no one knows the day or hour He was specifically talking about the Feast of Trumpets which is also known as the day or hour no one knows. From a google search – Was the Feast of Trumpets also known as the day or hour no one knows?
New Testament context
So yes the phrase Jesus used in Matthew 24:36 is not only just a general statement, it is also a clue. But why both?
The general statement applies to obedience with the primary lesson being to always be prepared for the return of Christ. Followers are urged to live their lives in a way that pleases God, regardless of how long the waiting period feels.
The clue applies to the identification and the prophecy of the One to come. All the way back in Genesis Chapter 3 (verse 15), God provided humanity a Savior. The Old Testament outlines all Seven Feasts as something Holy. And we saw through scripture Our Savior fulfilling the First Four in great detail on His First Coming. These and many, many others give us proof as to Who the Messiah is for God WANTED US TO KNOW HIM.
Paul gives us the specific prophesy that relates directly the Feast of Trumpets in 1 Thessalonians 4. This prophecy is on the same scale as to that given to John (Revelation). This is a simple difference. Paul is speaking of the Rapture (The Removal of the Church before the Wrath of God arrives) and the Rapture applies only to the Gentiles. The Prophecy that John writes about in Revelation applies solely to Jacob (Israel) and the final week written by Daniel in Chapter 9.
So we know we are suppose to live right day by day to be ready but we are also to keep watch. We are guided by both a general statement and a clue toward the second coming. Having this clue allows us to look and see the signs of the times. Remember this was one of Jesus’ biggest complaints.
Luke 19:43-44
We must help each other with this and be joyous in the doing for it is to our comfort.
So I look for Him everyday which helps me keep oil in my lantern. But I look for Him everyday not because I expect today will be that day, but, because He is my Lord and I wish to follow Him. But I also know that He has more Old Testament prophecies to fulfill and I do not wish to hear Him say to me that which He said to His apostles in John 7:6.
Jesus will fulfill the remaining Feasts as prescribed or He is not Lord. Remember the words of John the Baptist and Jesus’ reply:
Know this. The Feast of the Trumpets will be fulfilled in its time. I believe this with all I am. And even if our calendars are out of sync with the Heavens, I now know many more signs thanks to Brother Rob and these pages.

That is some interesting information surrounding the Feast of Trumpets. I will continue to persevere and watch. We who follow Christ our Lord wishes for his quick return but I echo Habakkuk’s pray. Have mercy on us Lord. We truly need your mercy during this time.

It is expected that you won’t understand the things of the Spirit. Those who have not been Born Again by the Spirit of God cannot understand the things of the Spirit. People who aren’t Born Again by the Spirit of God can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them, and they can’t understand it, for only those who are Born Again can understand what the Spirit means.
God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important.
God has hidden these things from you, and you are not allowed to understand them. Until you repent of your sins and fully trust in Jesus, you will not receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and be able to understand what I wrote in this essay.

I think you are wise to question anyone who states they have received something from the Holy Spirit. This is what the body of scripture instructs us to do. Where you are in error is in the cessationist idea that the Holy Spirit does not speak to the followers of Jesus today. Yes, please review all that I have said. I never set a date; I never said that Jesus will return on a specific day.
I said that scripture indicates Jesus will return to fulfill the Feast of Trumpets during the Rapture. Then I give you the scriptures.
I make commentary on scripture; I do not claim a new revelation of scripture that is in conflict with what had already been written.

No you did not “set a date” but what you were implying was clear. You do far better in your apolgetic work than when you try to figure prophecy out by current events. Enough is enough already about implying we are getting close to the rapture. I have heard this for 45 years now and I do believe in an imminent rapture.

I am glad we can see you admit that we did not set a date. I am happy that you see that. But you are now trying to insinuate the implication of setting a date. We did no such thing there either. We stated our case very clearly that we believe that the Rapture will occur during the Feast of Trumpets because of how that Feast and the Rapture mirror each other the tee, and, how the Jewish nation understood that the Feast of the Trumpets was also known as the day or the hour that no one knows. Therefore we have concluded from the teaching of the Holy Spirit that this statement is both a general statement to live by and clue to coming prophecy ie The Rapture. We recognize that the Feast of Trumpets is a two day – 48 hour event. We also recognize that we could truly never know which year without the signs of the time. And even if we could pinpoint, which I would never attempt, I still would not know which day or hour. For all things are truly left to God.
It is sad that we honestly report that which we believe is given by God through His Word and instructed upon us through his Spirit and brothers in the faith call us False Teachers only to say later … opps … maybe you didn’t set a date after all. I will also remind you, while offering my prayers for you, that Jesus was also called a false teacher.
We all have zeal for the Lord. But I implore you to understand that it is not we ourselves convicting ourselves of sin when we sin but it is the Holy Spirit. How does He do that if He does not speak to us through your our spirit? So yes the Holy Spirit is always teaching us.
I make you this promise. If Pastor Rob even thinks about trying to set a date on the Rapture, I will be the first to abandon him as a false teacher. But I will never abandon a brother from an accusation that I know is false no matter what.
I wish you well … always. The Rapture is a joyous thing. My earlier comment above states my full belief on this. I shall not hide from you for I cannot hide from the Lord. Please be well.

It’s very simple. God does not speak to anyone today like He did in the past for some very specific purposes. Read, “Is That You Lord? Hearing the Voice of the Lord: A Biblical Perspective”. Look back at what Mr. Robinson was saying about one year ago.

It is clear that you have an incorrect view of the role of the Spirit in the life of the believer today. I have read Gilley’s book, and it is clear you misunderstood part of what he was saying. I’m glad you read Gilley’s book. That is a good start. I think you would profit from reading outside the Charismatic tradition. Galaxie Software Electronic Publishing Theological Journals, if you don’ have it is a mixture of many different theological writers. Also, Frederick Dale Bruner, “A Theology of the Holy Spirit” may provide a different prospective even though you will disagree with him. Hopefully you have dropped the idea that I am not born again as you previously said, “Those who have not been Born Again by the Spirit of God cannot understand the things of the Spirit. People who aren’t Born Again by the Spirit of God can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. That is a blatant misuse of that Scripture when applied to Christians who don’t hold to your theological beliefs about the Holy Spirit.

@sdca7729. My brother why do I not get the benefit of the Holy Spirit as my helper too? How can I be saved if the Holy Spirit is not indwelled in me? Why has the Bible lied to me about the Holy Spirit? How can John 14:26 be true concerning me if what you say is true? For the Holy Spirit most definitely continues to teach us whether you think so or not. It is you who is misinformed.
And one year ago I was here participating in those conversations between you and him as he was pointing out clear details concerning the Feast of the Trumpets while you completely misunderstood by trying to insinuate that WE were setting a date which we clearly explained we were not.
It is my fear for you that you are one of the five virgins who did not procure enough oil for the Holy Spirit is not with you given YOUR current thinking.
Maybe you should take your own advice and go back and reread those as well.
I will pray for you get a better understanding of these things you clearly do not understand. And if you refuse then may the Lord rebuke you.
