The problem of controlling general superintelligence is not solvable. If we build it, we cannot control it.

It is impossible to have a system that, no matter how much it improves itself, modifies, learns, and interacts with malevolent actors, it never makes a single mistake.

Right now we can still put up guardrails for AI models we have today. These models are still at a subhuman level in many ways. They are primarily tools.

We are about to cross a barrier where there is no stopping General Super Intelligence.

When current AI models cross the human intelligence barrier, we will have superintelligence.

That’s where traditional AI safety mechanisms will not operate. AI that is thousands of millions of times smarter than us.

If we allow AI to reach that level of intelligence, it will destroy all human life.

In Genesis chapter 6, when God determined that the people of Earth had reached a level of sin that could no longer be allowed to continue, God destroyed the world. It was not just general sin as we might think, but an advancement in knowledge that led to an increase in perversity intolerable to God.

There are some expositors who postulate that the “Sons of God” (angels) cohabitated with human women and produced a superspecies of giants. The text of Genesis describes these events, though many today debate who these beings were and what behavior they were conducting.

I am not saying that the creation of General Superintelligence is equal to what was happening on Earth during the time of Noah and the Flood, but it does appear that certain advancements in human ability may contribute to an increased speed of God’s judgment.

We do know from Scripture that during the time of the seven-year Tribulation, the antichrist, who is empowered by satan, will exhibit supernatural power that will cause the world to be deceived and worship him.

We are certainly living in the last of the Last Days, just before Jesus returns for His church. It would not be surprising that the creation of AI and our rapid movement towards General Superintelligence may play a significant role in these final events before Jesus returns.
