365 Prophecies: Prophecy 56
The kingdom of the Messiah will be established under David and will continue forever.
Old Testament Prediction:
1 Chronicles 17:12 “He shall build Me a house, and I will establish his throne forever.”
New Testament Fulfillment:
Luke 1:33 “And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”
Hebrews 1:8 But to the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever…”
Revelation 5:13 And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: “Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!”
The kingdom of the Messiah will last forever because it is a righteous kingdom directed by a Good King. It has always been the intention of the Lord that people would allow Him to bless their lives by being their only King. There is no other person who has a greater interest in you than the Lord. Throughout the Bible, God is constantly speaking of His love for all people and His desire to bring us into His presence once He has dealt with our sins by Jesus’ sacrifice.
It grieves and breaks the heart of God that all people will not come to Him and fall beneath the shelter of salvation that He has provided for us. Though He loves us immensely, His patience will not last forever. There is a time which is quickly approaching, when it will be too late and no man can be saved.
Genesis 6:3 And the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever…”
It is the purpose of God that those who have received the salvation He offers through Jesus Christ should also participate in the reign of the Messiah during His one thousand-year rule over the earth. Believers who surrender their lives to Jesus Christ before the Rapture occurs will be designated as kings and priests alongside Jesus, with oversight of His kingdom in various places around the earth.
The basis for rulership
Depending on the faithfulness of a person during this present age, Jesus will appoint all those who have served Him with sincerity, to different degrees of responsibility, depneding on what they did with the resources they were given while alive on the earth.
Luke 19:17 And he said to him, “Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.”
Revelation 20:6 … but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.
The work that we will do together with Jesus in His new kingdom will be the most satisfying and fulfilling experiences of our life. Having received our new glorified bodies at the Rapture, we will never tire, grow old, become sick, or discouraged. We will have the mind of Christ that will enable us to make judgements according to His wisdom and knowledge.
1 Corinthians 2:16 For “who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
The people who survive the horrors of the seven year Tribulation will go into the one thousand-year kingdom of Jesus as mortals. They will have jobs, raise families, and live long and productive lives. When they have need of help or counsel in any matter, they will come to us who co-rule with the Lord. No matter how difficult their question, problem or need, we will quickly be able to discern exactly what is required. We will have the Lord’s authority and be able to provide the things necessary for every requirement that is presented to us.
One of the greatest joys in this present life is the privilege of being able to help people and make a difference in their lives. Imagine during the one thousand-year reign of the Messiah, that you will help perhaps millions of people by wisdom that comes directly from the Lord. As people walk away stunned and amazed at the wise and righteous judgement you provided for them, you will experience a deep sense of joy, satisfaction and thankfulness that the Lord has allowed you to make such an important difference in the lives of people.
This is the promise of this 56th Old Testament prophecy of the Messiah which will be fulfilled in the one thousand-year reign of Jesus Christ.
