10 Reasons Why Atheism Makes No Sense

A Note From The Author: I have been personally troubled by the discourse of both Christians and Atheists in their exchanges of ideas. Frequently I have observed rude comments and behavior exhibited from both sides that are both unnecessary and regrettable. We are all human beings and whatever it is that we hold as truth—in regards to our faith or non faith in God—we deserve kindness, gentleness, and a measure of humility when we discuss ideas together.

The 2012 U.S. Census, calculated that the number of people living in the United States is: 313.9 million.[1]

A 2012 survey by Pew Research Center, revealed that 2.4% of Americans define themselves as an “atheist.”[2] This places the number of those who describe themselves in this manner, at approximately 1 million, 307 thousand. Of these, 5% state that they are absolutely certain that God does not exist.[3]

According to the 2012 Merriam-Webster dictionary, the literal definition of an “atheist” is: “A person who believes that God does not exist.” This definition does not hold true amongst atheists themselves.[4]

The term “atheist” is difficult to properly define. Even amongst those who describe themselves by this term, 14% state that they do believe in God or some form of a universal spirit.[5] Amongst those surveyed, 5% said they are “absolutely certain” about the existence of God or a universal spirit. Alternatively, there are many people who fit the dictionary definition of “atheist” but do not call themselves atheists.

In the same 2012 survey, Americans revealed that the number of people who define themselves as atheists has been rising slightly, while a slightly larger number (5%) of Americans have departed the Christian church.

SIDEBAR: The above survey explains why a large number of people who become atheists, originate from Christianity. It has been a colossal failure of the Christian church in teaching the word of God to the people during the past 60 years. Those who attend Christian churches today do not know what the Bible teaches, because pastors themselves do not know what it says. As a result, the knowledge of God has suffered greatly in the general population—replaced with the religions of men and their abhorrent doctrines. This famine of the word of God has further spawned a large number of people who inhabit the buildings of Christian churches, but are not saved. They carry a resemblance of religion, while lacking the Spirit of God—being incapable of exhibiting the true attributes of love, kindness, grace, and mercy—which Jesus imparts to those who come into a true saving relationship with Him. The example that the pretend believer displays to the world—is not the example that Jesus revealed to the world. It is no wonder that 5% of those who become atheists, have come out of Christian churches. Having been hurt, offended, and witnessing the hypocrisy of those who claim to believe in God—they leave in disgust.

In 2007, 1.6% of Americans surveyed, defined themselves as an atheist. The same survey conducted in 2012, defined 2.4% of Americans as calling themselves an atheist. A July, 2013, CNN report states that atheism around the world is in decline. In 1970, more than 4.5% of the world’s population defined themselves as an atheist. Michael Chapman in “Global study: atheists in decline,” projected a drop in atheism around the world, below 1.8% by 2020.[5a]

While America remained a largely Christian nation until the late 50’s, Europe, Asia, and Russia have lived under a prevalence of atheism during the same period of time. Today, Americans are moving increasingly towards an unbelief in God, while other nations of the world, having found the futility of atheism for hundreds of years, are experiencing a renewed interest in the Bible, and the truth concerning Jesus Christ.

Many of those who refer to themselves as an atheist simply claim this title because they have seen no evidence that supports the proposition that God exists, and will remain an atheists until such time that they can observe and agree the evidence is sufficient to believe. A very narrow category of atheists state that regardless of the evidence presented, they will never concede that God exists.

Not surprising, most atheists are male: 67%, to 38% female. The primary age group of most atheists is 18-29, and 43% have earned a college degree—compared to 29% of the general population of Americans.

Many atheists see no contradiction between atheism and spirituality—49%, define themselves as “spiritual,” in some regard. A surprising 3% of American atheists say that they are “religious people.”

Four out of ten atheists admit that they think often about the meaning and purpose of their life.

It is certain, that if God does in fact exist—He is incomprehensible to man. Eternally existent with unlimited power and knowledge, no human being could understand anything about such a Being—unless He chose to reveal Himself. It is certain that whatever means He might chose to communicate with the human species, it would not be anything close to what we might expect.

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. —Isaiah 55:8-9

“Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding. —Job 38:4

I present to you, my own observations for why the atheistic view makes no sense:

1. The atheistic position that there is ‘no God’ is illogical.

In order to know that there is no God, without a doubt, a person would have to examine every piece of evidence that is available. Since no person has ever examined all of the evidence in the world for the existence of God, they really do not know whether or not He exists. Therefore, the most that anyone can honestly say is ‘I don’t know if there is a God.’ This is an Agnostic, not an atheist. A true atheist is someone who has examined all of the available evidence and concluded that ‘there is no proof for God.’ Since no one could possibly examine all of the evidence for God, by definition, being a true atheist is not possible.”

Of course, the above definition can only correctly be applied to those who have categorically stated that they are certain that God does not exist. For others with a different view of their atheism, this point may or may not be applicable.

The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” —Psalms 14:1

2. The universe itself invalidates the atheistic position that God does not exist.

Science confirms that the universe exists by a narrow set of laws. These laws control and determine the existence of the universe. Where did these laws come from, since not even time, space, or matter existed prior to the beginning of the universe?

How God Created The Universe: Science And The Bible In Symmetry

Today, scientists confirm that the universe had a sudden beginning. After an eternity past, instantaneously all matter and energy that exists in the universe, came into being. There is no example anywhere in the universe where anything of a technical nature, came into existence from nothing and without some form of intervention by an intelligent being.

Theoretical Physicists, Stephen Hawking described the impossibility of a universe existing at all, as a supernatural event—apart from a naturalistic cause.

“The odds against a universe like ours emerging out of something like the Big Bang are enormous. I think there are clearly religious implications.” [6]

In the first picosecond (one trillionth of a second) of the universe, the precise balance between gravitational force and the expansion of energy were precisely calibrated within extremely narrow limits that were necessary for life to exist on earth, 13 billion years later. The big question is why they were calibrated at all since the models that scientists have developed for how the universe should have expanded, reveal a universe drastically different from what actually occurred.

Stephen Hawking describes the models that scientists have developed for a universe which began under the conditions that were present at the moment of the Big Bang:

“Why did the universe start out with so nearly the critical rate of expansion that separates models that recollapse from those that go on expanding forever, that even now, 10 thousand million years later, it is still expanding at nearly the critical rate? If the rate of expansion one second after the Big Bang had been smaller by even one part in 100 thousand million million, the universe would have recollapsed before it ever reached its present size.”[7]

In fact, during the first trillionth of a second of the universe, during the initial expansion of gases, there were many essential elements and that were required—if life would be possible on the earth, some 9 billions years later. If, for example, the ratio of electromagnetism to gravity was either increased or decreased by 10 to the 40th power, we would have the wrong type of stars in the universe that would make life impossible on any planet.[8]

These facts and hundreds more, are empirical and without question—sufficient evidence to conclude that the universe exists because of the engineering of an intelligence, not as a product of chance.

“The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world.” —Psalm 19:1 (NLT)

3. To the present day, no scientists can sufficiently explain how life began.

Life does not simply consist of matter. In order for living cells to know how to assemble themselves into a living and functional being, instructions must be given to matter. Within the cells of the human body, some 750 Trillion, there exists an intricate digital code that conveys specific instructions to the cells—how to make an arm, a leg, a blue eye, and a heart. Without this information—there would be no life. As all software designers are aware, a computer is completely useless unless it possesses the digital code of a software designer—which tells the hardware how to operate.

Who engineered the software which tells the cells in a human body how to operate? The designer.

The theory of evolution is useful in explaining how some species are able to adapt to their environment, and make small changes over time. Evolution has not, however, shown conclusively how one species has evolved into a completely different species. More important: science has never demonstrated by any scientific process, to explain how life began in the first place.

Every attempt by science at explaining the origin of life has failed. In a desperate endeavor, the scientific community has resorted to an extra-terrestrial explanation for life on earth. Having failed to demonstrate how life could have begun as a single cell on the earth, scientists now offer an explanation that is out of this world: An asteroid crashed into the earth millions of years ago and brought with it, the first simple cell that evolved into every species that is present on earth today.

According to the theory of “Paspermia,” meteorites are responsible for depositing simple life forms on earth.[9] Somehow, these life forms survived the atmosphere of earth and evolved into every life form that is present on earth today. Scientists have discovered amino acids, the building blocks of life on comets, however, these molecules which are required for life, have only rarely been found in quantities sufficient to create the proper chemical reaction that would allow the most basic of cells to exist. This theory is impossible to test scientifically, and therefore, impossible to conclude that it is a viable answer for how life began on earth.

The director of NSASA, Specialized Center of Research, Jeffrey Bada, determined that meteorites would become too hot during their entry into earth’s atmosphere, to allow amino acids to survive–exposing these life forms to temperatures in excess of 1,200 degrees, centigrade—hot enough to destroy almost all organic materials. In experiments conducted by Dr. Bada, the only amino acids which could survive this heat were glycine.[10]

SIDEBAR: How did the microorganisms from an asteroid, evolve from a simple life form—into an advance life form; such as man? in laboratory experiments where conditions were optimal, in seeking to recreate the conditions scientists determined were present at the beginning of life on earth, no life has ever resulted from these scientific experiments.

Only one answer rationally explains the origin of life: an intelligent being (God) designed and engineered the cells and information in those cells, to become living, intelligent beings. Instead of considering God as some impatient and angry old man with a white beard—up in the sky; imagine Him as the ultimate extra-terrestrial, who has unlimited knowledge and power, who determined that He would create a universe where life could exist, specifically, for man.

It requires less faith to accept that life exists by the acts of an intelligent being, rather than coincidence or chance.

There is no conclusive evidence that any advanced life form, such as man, could evolve from inanimate matter and possess a mind, conscience and moral law—written on his heart, by any naturalistic process.

“Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness…” —Genesis 1:26

4. The human mind.

Man is unique amongst all other animals on the earth, in that he possesses a mind, or soul. Science has yet to explain the existence of the mind, except as a secondary product of the brain. The problem is that the mind of man, is independent of the brain, although it functions through the brain. Animals do not possess this capacity to reason, feel guilt, understand good and evil, and seek meaning and purpose in life. Only man, who possesses a soul—apart from the material part of man, thinks and contemplates his own existence. Science confirms that the mind could not be present in man by the process of evolution—it exists independent of the body where it houses the emotions, the psyche and our conscious awareness of the physical world.

The atheist position is that upon death, all of our feelings, emotions, love, joy, and thousands of experiences of life—cease to exist. The Bible claims that the soul is eternal. All of our love, emotions, and the inner person that we are—continues to live on, forever.

Forgetting the debate over the existence of God, do you personally feel in your “soul, “ that someday you will cease to exist? Or do you sense within your innermost being that you must go on, somewhere, somehow?

“For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand…” —Psalms 139:13-17

5. Man possesses an inner knowledge that God exists.

The denial that God exists is completely unnatural for man. Human beings are hardwired with a knowledge that God must exist*. This is a universal and undeniable part of man’s conscience, character, and nature. Examples of man’s knowledge of God are observed in ancient paintings and carvings, all over the earth—through every phase of man’s history and development. Man knows that God exists because he came from God and is like him in many ways. The desire for liberty, purpose, creativity, the need for love and the desire to direct his own destiny, are examples of traits that God built into man, which came from God’s own nature.

Even those who claim to not believe in God have not been totally honest in their claims. It can be found that many former atheists admit much later that their claims were false. All the while they vehemently denied the existence of God, in their hearts they knew that He must exist. It was their inability to comprehend such a transcendent being, and the failures and faults of those who claimed to know Him, that most often caused an individual to make the claim that God must not exist.

I believe that every person knows that God exists, whether they are willing to admit it or not. How do I know this for certain? God said it was so:

“For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks.” —Romans, chapter 1

…*He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end. —Ecclesiastes 3:11

6. Man has an intense desire to worship God.

All human beings have the desire to worship. This yearning exists from the first year of life and continues until our final breath. Ancient peoples and cultures of the world have been found to worship some type of “god” as a part of their social community, since the beginning of man. The Aborigines of Australia, departed Africa some 75,000 years ago in their migration across Europe and Asia, on their way to Australia, where they have been worshipping their gods for over 50,000 years. [12]

“Studying his DNA, the researchers found that the ancestors of Australian Aboriginals had split from the first modern human populations to leave Africa, 64,000 to 75,000 years ago.”[13]

“This new DNA study powerfully confirms that Aboriginal Australians are one of the oldest living populations in the world, certainly the oldest outside of Africa,” agrees evolutionary biologist Professor Darren Curnoe of UNSW.”[14]

Even more compelling, this study confirms that the Aborigines may have brought their gods with them in their migration–from from where they originally worshipped gods as the oldest beings on earth, the Neanderthals.

“Examining DNA from a finger, researchers from the Harvard Medical School in the US and the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Germany concluded that the Denisovans – a primitive group of humans descended from Neanderthals – migrated from Siberia to tropical parts of Asia. They contributed DNA to Aborigines along with present-day New Guineans and an indigenous tribe in the Philippines known as Mamanwa.”[15]

These Aboriginal people, who can trace their ancestry back 75,000 years, describe the “Creation Period,” when God made the world.

“Similar to other religions, there was a time in Aboriginal belief when things were created….All aspects of Aboriginal culture are full of legends and beings associated with this Creation Period, or Dreamtime. Each tribe has many stories, often with a lesson to be learned or a moral tale, about the Creation Period deities, animals, plants, and other beings.”[16]

This empirical evidence confirms that man has been worshipping God in one form or another, since he first existed on the earth.

Upon a thorough examination of man on the earth, there was not likely a people or nation during the entire history of the world that has not worshipped some type of God. Man is inherently a religious being.

If God does not exist—why do we find the universal worship of God—dating back to the beginning of man on the earth, including the story of Creation?

If a man will not worship the one true God, he can be found to worship many other things.

“For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever- living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles.” —Romans 1:20-23

Even the atheist worships himself, his work, his pleasure and his possessions. The term “worship” originated from the idea of placing worth into something that consumes our thoughts, time, and passion. Man is compelled to direct himself towards something of worth, he cannot help himself. Man was made to worship the One True God, but he will worship nearly anything else, if he does not worship the Eternal God.

This is compelling evidence that God exists and the certainty that He created man with the need to worship Him, the One True God.

“As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?” —Psalms 42:1-2

7. Things which do not exist are not a consuming part of our life.

A puzzling question that one might ask the atheist is “why do you spend so much time, passion, resources, and effort, trying to disprove something that you claim doesn’t exist anyway?

Do any other persons on the earth devote massive amounts of time to try and disprove anything that they do not believe exists?

It is a fact of human nature that we often are not able to perceive our own heart. We believe that we know ourselves, but we do not.[17]

If we have suffered a traumatic and hurtful experience from people, it is really very easy for a person to deny they are hurt and try to act as if nothing has happened. Many of those who claim to not believe in God, were not always non believers. They can trace a moment in their life where a person who claimed to be follower of Jesus or a member of a particular church, greatly hurt or offended them. A noted atheist recently informed me that many people who are now atheists, were once Christians. This is actually quite believable. Most people make important decision in their life, not based on facts, or what is best for them—but due to their emotions. We are a fragile race of beings–easily hurt and offended. A common reason that many people have rejected God is due to the treatment they received from a person who claimed to be a believer in God.

What is seldom realized is that God is not like those who often misrepresent Him. If we examine the life of Jesus as He conducted Himself during the 33 1/2 years of His life on earth—we see a man who was perfect in every way. If we will give ourselves fully into the trust of Jesus, we will never be disappointed. If, however, we place our trust in people, we will always be disappointed.

Excuses

Man is an expert at excuses. We can find a rational reason for anything that we want to do. Whether anyone else agrees with us or not, if we want to do something, we will rationalize our actions and find a way to do it.

I believe that I have read nearly every reason for why the atheist refuses to believe in God. Honestly, there has not been one valid point that would genuinely prevent any person from trusting in God—if these misunderstandings could be cleared up.

There are no intellectual barriers to a faith in God, only barriers of the will, and an unwillingness to believe.

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” —Matthew 11:28-29

“But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.” —John 5:40

8. The reality of sin.

There is only one document in existence which properly explains why human beings exist in their present form. The Bible is brutally honest in representing the true character and nature of man. Created perfect in the beginning, all people today posses a moral defect which prevents them from conducting themselves perfectly during their lives. Moreover, every person knows that they should be better than they are, but continue to be frustrated by their own inability to make lasting or permanent changes.

How is it that a person can be so kind, gracious, generous, merciful, and loving—minutes later: angry and vengeful—capable of expressing graphic, filthy, language, and inflicting physical pain, or even death?

This is the nature of man and the plague which ruins every part of life on the earth. We cannot change ourselves, and we cannot embrace the presence of evil as right or acceptable. Many people blame God, or use the presence of evil as an excuse to deny the existence of God—when in fact, it is the acts of evil men who cause all of the heartache and suffering on earth, not God.

Some people deny the existence of God because He has not taken action to remove the presence of sin from human life. The facts is, God has done something; He sent His Son into the world to die for the evil acts of all men, and redeem us back to a state of perfection.

The problem is that many people are unwilling to accept the fact that they are themselves, “sinners,” and in need of a Savior. Being unwilling to humble themselves and come to God for the forgiveness of their sins, God is unable to remove the presence of sin and evil from the earth completely.

This is of course, until Jesus returns to earth again. At that time, the Bible describes a moment when all evil will be banished from the earth and no one will hurt or kill anyone, ever again. Peace and righteousness will cover the earth, as the waters cover the seas and every person will know God and love Him.[18]

The presence of sin in the lives of human beings is not natural, nor is it desirable. God did not create us to live under this plague and He has been working in the lives of human beings, since our creation, to remove sin and destroy death forever.

The fact that sin exists, is compelling proof that God must also exist. The Bible describes sin as an unnatural product of human life, and God who has taken drastic steps—even the giving of His own Son—will remove this scourge, forever.

9. The human conscience.

Man alone possesses a conscience that allows him to understand the difference between right and wrong, even without being trained or taught any moral laws. Man possesses the ability to feel guilt when he violates his own conscience. Man is aware that a temporal life is irrational, and is hardwired with a sense that death is unnatural and all human beings should not die.

The Bible describes the human conscience as preeminent evidence that God exists. He hardwired mankind with an ability that no other creature on earth possesses—the capacity to perceive good and evil and a conscience which convicts him when he speaks or acts wrongfully.

No person, apart from a sociopath,[19] has the ability to conduct themselves in any negative manner—without the emotion of guilt, after an expression of negative words or actions.

If man evolved from apes, who have no conscience, how is it that man is so encompassed by His conscience? We cannot say an unkind word, express rage, or take a paperclip that does not belong to us—without feeling guilt, why?

Evolution does not require a conscience. In fact, from the vantage point of a simply material being, a conscience is a nuisance and a unnecessary attribute of man. If man evolved from a lower species, he would not have developed a characteristic which does not benefit his species. The entire concept of adaptability—denies any attribute which would undermine the development of a species as it moves towards improvement.

The only reason that a conscience could exist, is for the purpose of reminding man that he does not exist by simply naturalistic processes. The conscience is code in the software of man’s spirit—which tells him that he has a Creator. As a software designer will often place code within the software he creates to give him a “back door” into his software, God has placed the conscience into man as a backdoor to reach his intellect and reason.

10. God has revealed Himself.

Jesus said that God can be understood by considering the element of wind: we cannot see it, but we see what it has done.[20] There is no clearer proof for the existence of God than the things which He has created.[21] The atheist will define the material world by naturalistic causes, but this answer is insufficient. How do we explain the fact that a universe exists at all? There is no reason that the universe came into existence suddenly of its own. For an eternity past, there was nothing; no space, no matter, no time, no laws to govern the universe—nothing. Yet the Bible describes God as existing for eternity, before the universe—as the source of the universe. This really makes perfect sense to the intellect of man.

Human beings understand everything which exists, by the fact that they have a beginning.

This is why so many people find it difficult to accept the Biblical concept of God—who is defined as having no beginning and existing for eternity.

Man demands answers that define how God came into being—while not being able to explain how the universe came into being, from nothing.

God as the source of all things, is much more logical than happenstance as the source of all things. Why is it that an atheists demands that God must have a beginning, but accepts the fact that the universe caused itself?

One might ask: “where did God come from?” or “who created God?’ These questions neglect the obvious: something which exists before all other things, must be uncreated and exist by its own will. God has no beginning, He has always existed.

We cannot understand this concept by the reasoning of the human mind. It is a fact which cannot be perceived by a temporal being who knows nothing of eternity. All that man knows is that anything which exists—must have a beginning. The fact is—God did not come into existence at some point in the past, nor was He created by any other being before Him. In order to understand this, we must first accept that God has always existed and has no beginning—before we can progress any further in our understanding of God, and the universe which He created.

There are examples of things which exist—apart from science understanding where they came from, or how they operate. No scientist understands where gravity came from or specifically how it works, they simply understand what it does. Science accepts the fact that gravity exists, though they do not understand how it came into existence in the first place.

The reasonable explanation for the existence of the universe and mankind upon the earth, is God. An intelligent being who does not exist in material form, but as Spirit. This, of course, was true until Jesus arrived on the earth. At Bethlehem, God took the body of a human being and became one of us. This is the point of Paul’s narrative in his letter to the Hebrew Christians living in Jerusalem:

“God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds… ~Hebrews 1:1-2

Before Jesus came to earth, He existed as God in Spirit only. He is the source of the universe and the engineer who put all the elements together to make life possible on earth. God spoke to the people of earth in antiquity, by the words of the prophets who are described in the Old Testament scriptures. This is the manner in which He chose to reveal Himself to mankind in the past.

Then Paul says: “in these last days, (God) has spoken to us by His Son…”

If we want to understand whether God exists, what He is like, and what He has to say—all we must do is examine the words and actions of His Son, Jesus—the Messiah.

The conclusive proof that God exists is observed by the break in human linear time—when the Son of God came into the world, to reveal the existence of God once and for all; what He is like and what He wants to communicate to every human being.

Closing Observations:

If a person truly wants to find sufficient evidence for the existence of God, it is really very easy. There are an overwhelming number of compelling and definitive points which would convince any reasonable person that God must exist. It is interesting that the 2.5 percent of the world’s population who are atheists, think that we; the 77 percent, who believe, are ignorant and grossly misinformed. It seems obvious that the opposite is true. Those who have chosen of their own free will—to not believe, have done so, with almost no diligence or serious investigation. In the minds of the atheists that I have had dialogue with, they speak to me as if I were a child who is greatly misinformed, uneducated, and blind to the truth that God could possibly exist.

They accuse Christians of being “pompous” and “arrogant,” while they themselves consistently exhibit these character faults themselves. When someone comes to reason with these men, for no other purpose other than concern for their souls, the unbeliever ridicules, disrespects, and mocks them in return.

Bob Seidensticker told me on his web site: “Patheos,” that my observations were “crap,” and then continued to belittle me as an ignorant and foolish man. Mr. Seidensticker told me that the people who frequent his web site; “Patheos,” are “highly educated atheists.” As if the God of the universe could be known or perceived by the wisdom of men.[22] In reality, Jesus came to Bethlehem to a poor family and lived the first 30 years of His life in obscurity. If God wanted to reveal Himself by intellect, He would have sent Jesus to the leaders of Jerusalem as an academic, or great and powerful political leader. Instead, Jesus came in deep humility and laid down His life for all human beings. He never resisted evil men, their false accusations, nor their desire to put Him to death. Jesus willingly offered up His life because there was no other way that man could be saved. The evidence of this great need is observed by the people of the world who ignore, diminish, scorn, and ridicule Jesus today—the very people whom Jesus suffered so greatly, and died upon the cross for.

I feel a deep sense of sadness for the atheist; they are missing so much. These dear people have no idea—presently, where their unbelief will lead them. An eternal gamble on an unfounded belief that is totally unsupported by any fact of evidence. For the sake of the atheists, I hope that they are right and I am wrong. For if they are wrong, they will lose all. If I am wrong, I have lost nothing, except the time and effort of my life—in seeking to reason with the lost.
