Incomparable Wisdom

The wisdom of this world is foolishness to Me. I have intentionally chosen what the world considers foolish as the very means by which I reveal My will. My cross was viewed by many as a failure. Even the rulers of principalities and powers in the spirit realm did not understand what I would accomplish by My death. It was not until afterwards, when the graves in Jerusalem opened and those who died trusting in My salvation were also raised, that the wisdom of the cross was understood. When I burst forth in radiant light on the third day, all powers knew that I had defeated death and hell forever.

I will make you wiser than the Ph.D.’s of this world. I will give you wisdom beyond the greatest minds, that is revealed in My word. The world does not seek Me, nor do they understand who I am. You will know Me by My Spirit that comes to dwell in your heart.

If you live for Me and choose a life that is set apart from sin and the lusts of this world, I will give you insights into the mysteries of My word and fill your mind and heart with all My truths.

I will teach you and instruct you in the way you should go, and no good thing will I withhold from those who trust in Me and seek to know My word.

Mem

Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day. You, through Your commandments, make me wiser than my enemies; for they are ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers, for Your testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the ancients, because I keep Your precepts. I have restrained my feet from every evil way, that I may keep Your word. I have not departed from Your judgments, for You Yourself have taught me. How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through Your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way.  ~Psalms 119:97-104

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.” Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?  ~1 Corinthians 1:18-20

And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many. ~Matthew 27:50-53

You have shown me, Lord, that You only reveal the deep and mysterious precepts of Your word to those who diligently seek You. The callous and uninterested can never find the unfathomable things of Your Spirit.

My relationship with You depends upon my obedience to what You have said. I am saved because I believe in the One whom God sent. I have relationship with You by my obedience in living the way You lived.

Lord, help me to not go through my life with only a casual interest in Your word. Give me a desire to study and meditate upon all You said and do these things in my own life.

I know that it is not enough to know things about You. Salvation comes from a personal and intimate knowledge of living for You. This requires a different way of living that does not imitate how people in the world live their lives.

Help me to understand that Your word is a banquet for life, not a buffet where I can pick and choose what I like and ignore what I don’t.
