Light And Life

How well do you see? Is your path full of light, or are there days when the darkness overtakes your steps? It is not difficult in this life to get off the right path. It happens quite unexpectedly when you are busy just trying to survive. Without a guide, it is not possible to navigate this life; much less, arrive at a place of peace.

In case you forget, I have written a book. I didn’t give My word to the world to sit upon a table or collect dust on your shelf. I sent My word to you so that you could find your way and direct all your steps into a good life.

You have an enemy who is bent upon destroying you. He will get your mind focused upon useless things. He will cause your anger to be focused on battles you never should have fought. He will discourage you with obstacles, difficult people, and problems that overwhelm you.

If you take time to read each day, just open the pages of My book and begin to think about the words I placed on these pages, everything will begin to make sense. You will find answers to all your problems and encouragement in many difficult days.

Incline your ear to hear, and I will speak to you. In the noise of the day or the stress of a moment, all the words you have placed into your mind will come back and remind you what is really important and what is not. I know it sounds too simple to be true, but this is how I made things to work. Me speaking to you, and you listening and finding the answers you need for your life.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. I have sworn and confirmed that I will keep Your righteous judgments. I am afflicted very much; revive me, O Lord, according to Your word. Accept, I pray, the freewill offerings of my mouth, O Lord, and teach me Your judgments. My life is continually in my hand, yet I do not forget Your law. The wicked have laid a snare for me, yet I have not strayed from Your precepts. Your testimonies I have taken as a heritage forever, For they are the rejoicing of my heart. I have inclined my heart to perform Your statutes forever, to the very end.  ~Psalms 119:105-112

Help me, Lord, to rely upon Your word and to seek You daily by devoting myself to study. There are many wonderful books in the world, but only one promises and keeps the hope of eternal life. You gave me Your words so that I could live my life and be blessed.

Teach me, as I study Your words, how to treat other people, how to love and honor You, and the way of justice, mercy, and peace.

There is no way of success apart from Your good word. Every nation and people who have prospered and survived began by being devoted to You and a desire to honor Your word.

My life and my family cannot succeed or survive in this perilous world, unless we live by and honor Your word.

Help me to live by Your words, and not by the words and philosophy of this world that only brings confusion and death.
