See Me
If you could see Me for who I am, it would change everything in your life. When Moses came to Mount Sinai, he saw a mountain of fire, with blackness and tempest, and heard the sound of a trumpet and the voice of words speaking, which he could not understand. I spoke to him out of the burning bush, which was not consumed. It was there that I made Myself known to him as I AM, who lives forever.
Paul was stoned to death and saw a door opened in heaven, where there were no human words to describe the things he beheld. Isaiah saw Me high and lifted up, with the train of My robe filling the temple. David saw Me robed in honor and majesty and clothed in light.
I want you to see Me. I want you to behold My glory. If you can perceive My nature and understand My Holiness, then your life and purpose will come into view. You don’t have to wait for heaven to see Me for who I am. I will reveal Myself to you today if you will draw near with a sincere heart. I am ready to show you; just surrender all you are, and I will show you all I AM.
For you have not come to the mountain that may be touched and that burned with fire, and to blackness and darkness and tempest, and the sound of a trumpet and the voice of words, so that those who heard it begged that the word should not be spoken to them anymore. ~Hebrews 12:18-19
Moses led them out from the camp to meet with God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain. All of Mount Sinai was covered with smoke because the Lord had descended on it in the form of fire. The smoke billowed into the sky like smoke from a brick kiln, and the whole mountain shook violently. ~Exodus 19:17-18 (NLT)
And the Angel of the Lord appeared to Moses in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush…God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!…Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God. ~Exodus 3:2-6
Let all that I am praise the Lord. O Lord my God, how great you are! You are robed with honor and majesty. You are dressed in a robe of light. ~Psalms 104:1-2 (NLT)
Our Lord Jesus Christ…who is the blessed and only Almighty God, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light… ~1 Timothy 6:14-16
Jesus said: “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” ~John 17:24
Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For our God is a consuming fire. ~Hebrews 12:28-29
Oh Lord, how magnificent You are! When I see You for the first time, I know that the light of Your glory will be so intense, that it will go right through me. How much I want to see You as You are. Cover me with Your precious salvation so that I might stand before You and not be consumed.
I am in awe over Your kindness, that You would think of me and consider my life important, though You are infinitely greater than I.
Reveal Yourself to me so that I might see Your glory in its full intensity someday. Help me to live a holy life now so I might be able to walk with You on that day and see Your unquenchable light.
Moses and the people trembled at Your mountain when You shook the ground and smoke bellowed up from amongst them. You showed us the terror of Your glory there for those who try to approach You without the covering of Your precious sacrifice. Let me understand who You truly are. Help me to understand that were it not for Your love, patience, and kindness, I would have been consumed in Your presence. I stand in awe of You, Lord!
