Battle Of The Mind:
What you think about, what you dwell on, what you allow to consume your thoughts will determine your life. It is possible to train your thinking so that it remains on the good things I have prepared for you. It is possible to overcome despair, depression, and doubts by keeping your mind steady upon My word.
Today your thoughts will venture into fear over things you have no control over. I am asking you now, before this happens, what good will this do? Whatever it is that you imagine will happen, I already know the result. Anything that comes along today or tomorrow, I have power over all these things. Didn’t I promise to use everything together for good to those who love Me? What part of “all things” didn’t you understand? Instead of spending time on worry and doubts, meditate upon My word and all of My promises.
What I really want you to think about today is how glorious it’s going to be on that first day you arrive in heaven. You and I are going to walk on streets of Gold and see things so wonderful, that your mind cannot conceive of them now. That first day in heaven will be the best day of your life, and it will never end.
This life will be over before you know it and then everything you have thought so much about, while on earth, will seem like a distant memory.
Dwell on heaven and the perfection of your life at that time. Think about all the good things to come and let these ideas sink down into your heart. Let your imagination run wild and overflow your mind with joy over what is ahead and a peace that no one can take away.
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned…Then the God of peace will be with you. ~Philippians 4:8-9 (NLT)
You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. ~Isaiah 26:3 (RCR)
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is —his good, pleasing and perfect will. ~Romans 12:2 (NIV)
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. ~2 Corinthians 10:3-5
I, yes I, am the one who comforts you. So why are you afraid of mere humans, who wither like the grass and disappear? Yet you have forgotten the Lord, your Creator, the one who stretched out the sky like a canopy and laid the foundations of the earth. Will you remain in constant dread of human oppressors? Will you continue to fear the anger of your enemies? Where is their fury and anger now? It is gone! ~Isaiah 51:12-13 (NLT)
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. ~Philippians 4:6 (NLT)
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. ~Romans 8:38 (NLT)
Jesus, today is likely to be a battle for me. Every week I face problems, difficulties, and obstacles that I must overcome. Sometimes I dwell on these things, and my mind is filled with fear and anxiety. Remind me to pray about these things and then trust You to work them out for me.
I know I have an enemy who wants to discourage and paralyze me with fear and doubts. Help me today to resist the feelings that make me feel helpless and want to give up.
I know that when I dwell on the promises of Your word, my mind is freed from these doubts and fears, and I feel renewed and able to continue. Be with me, dear Lord, on this day and every day.
