The Usefulness Of Weakness:

Have you noticed that some people just can’t believe that I am real? Many times, these are people who are very wise in the world but unable to discern Me. This is because I have chosen things that the world considers foolish to confound the wise. I use people whom the world thinks are without talent or ability. I call men and women to follow Me, who are despised and nothing in this world. Do you know why?

People who know that they are weak and incapable are also humble people. They understand that when I do magnificent things in their life, it was not because they were so smart or talented. They give Me glory for the things I do instead of taking credit themselves.

Examine all the people, in the Bible, whom I used to do great things. You will notice one common attribute: They knew that they didn’t have the power to do any of the things I did through them.

If you think that you are without the ability to serve Me, then you just might be perfect to do the great things I want to accomplish in this world. This will depend upon how committed you really are and how much you will let Me use you. If you are not afraid to let Me do everything I can do through you, then you will have the most exciting and fulfilling life imaginable.

Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world’s eyes or powerful or wealthy when God called you. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence. ~1 Corinthians 1:26-29

Jesus prayed this prayer: “O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike and humble. Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way!” ~Matthew 11:25-26 (RCR)

If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom…But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. ~James 3:13,17 (NLT)

I have met many people, Lord, who claim to be wise, and yet they don’t know You. I see that the people whom You reveal Yourself to and use to reach many with Your Gospel are the humble, modest, and simple people of this world.

How is it possible to obtain a Ph.D., and yet miss the obvious. Everything that exists came by Your love and care for us, and not by accident.

How thankful I am that though I am often weak, and doubt my own abilities, You choose people like me to do great things. Use me, Lord, in whatever ways You choose. I am available to You, Jesus, and want to be able to accomplish the plans that You have for me to reach this world with Your love.
