An Example Of Atheist Logic

One of the consistent principles that I see repeatedly amongst atheists, is their recurring attempts at presenting logic that backfires and proves that they are not really as intelligent as they assert.

About a month ago, I began producing videos for a new YouTube channel in an effort to start a dialogue with persons of similar interests. To my surprise, the largest response that I received, was from atheists.

Without exception, atheists really believe that they are more highly educated and smarter than people who believe in God. I have had these words spoken to me on several occasions. It is their idea that an education makes them better able to navigate false ideas from truth.

I happen to agree that education is critical, only differing on the source of the education. Gaining the letters Ph.D. after a persons name, does not grant them greater intellectual capacity when it concerns the things of God.

These individuals think that it does, but in reality and actual practice, it is never true. The precepts and principles of the Bible have their origin in a source that is transcendent of earth, time, space, and matter. God has always been alive and His wisdom and perfection are unlimited and beyond compare.

The things that God has said to us in the Bible, are not the wisdom of man. In fact, very often, they are completely in opposition to what men hold to be true.

In the book of 1 Corinthians, Paul writes that “the wisdom of men is foolishness to God.” For this reason, God chose the cross of Jesus as the method to save us, specifically because it drives the intellectual people of this world crazy.

The Cross makes no sense to people who don’t know God, nor understand His word.

It is a fact that God hides Himself from those who believe that they are far too intelligent to believe that God exists.

The following screen capture is from a comment made by an atheist who visited a video that I posted last week. In this video I challenge all atheists to give me their best explanation for their particular atheism and state that I can refute all of their arguments against the idea that God does not exist.

In this brief exchange, you will be able to observe, that the thinking process of the atheist is always lacking in reality. The very comments that this person made to me, are exactly what he and every other atheists does each time they seek to argue that God does not exist.

  1. The possibility of resurrection is a delusion. Everything dies. Humans are not a special species that has been given protection against eternal death. Since there is no possibility of the realization of this dream, there is no need for God or Heaven. Delusion abounds! GROG

    • Thank you for your comments. I appreciate your opinion in this matter.

Unfortunately, you are misinformed. I have spend the past 44 years researching the actual evidence for the resurrection and I know that it is a historical certainty.

I encounter this problem with many atheists; their gross lack of knowledge in facts they assert. I think the problem is that many of you only read the opinions of other atheists but not the facts from the other side of the issue. This is to be expected as human nature is to believe things we want to believe, but rarely do we search for evidence in anything that would contradict our ideals.

I began as one who never went to church, and knew nothing about God or religion. I spent many years researching both sides of the issue for God’s existence, before the evidence led me to conclude that He must exist. If at any time in the past 44 years I had ever found evidence that would lead me to believe that God does not exist, nor that Jesus died and rose from the dead, I would not believe these facts today.

So when Jesus came, He found that he had already been dead in the tomb four days. Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two miles away. And many of the Jews had joined the women around Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.

Now Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met Him, but Mary was sitting in the house. Now Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. But even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You.”

Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” Martha said to Him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.” ~John 11:17-27

And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves, and raise you from your graves ~Ezekiel 37:13

      • Rob, you say the atheist’s thinking process is lacking in reality. Wow! That is a good one. Reality is that everything dies, the body decomposes. Every creature has but one life and it is delusional and against common sense that there are two. Those who believe in resurrection have been scammed, and for 2000 years. Greatest Scam On Earth. I say: I agree everything does die that is flesh. We as humans in the flesh are not given protection against this. However, our spirit and soul is given this protection if we believe in Christ. You see the results of wind but you cannot see the wind. Faith tells you that the wind is there. So my faith in Christ also tells me he is there for my soul and my spirit when my human flesh dies. He will give me a new body upon his second coming. Your human flesh body came about once also, wouldn’t you want another one some day that is free from this sinful world ? As a choice you can choose (1) the world as you see it now filled with hate and despair or (2) one that is free from all the trouble we see in the world now. If I am going to choose why not take the second, seems to me that would be the better choice.

    • Terry M. We humans are very special, because we are here. The development of the human brain and how it works is “miraculous”, but we can be fooled. We think we are smart enough and know enough not to be fooled, but it still happens. That ‘self’ or ‘soul’ that exists inside the mind is a mental construct, and to convince oneself that it is eternal, is delusional, magical thinking. Sorry, but I believe that the monotheists of the God of Abraham have been and still are, being scammed. GROG

      • What you have not explained is why we are exponentially greater than all other animals on earth and how it is that we have been endowed with a mind of near infinite capacity. Everything about us reveals that we are not only special, but extraordinary to the degree that evolution could not possibly produce us.

This is what the scientific evidence proves, and it it further supported by our current knowledge of genetics.

Just as there is no possibility that our universe came into existence by any natural process and exists by purposeful acts of intelligence, so also do human beings exist as the product of a masterful mind who designed and created us.

      • All I can say is FAITH in Christ is my saving grace. I as a child of GOD know deep down in my heart that my flesh will die because Christ says so, however my soul and spirit will rise again and I will be given a new body. I would rather live that life and believe in my savior, than to think that when my flesh dies it all stops. GOD has all the answers. Now what is the question. He will answer any question you have if you will only ask and pray with a open heart and mind

      • Rob, All I can say is, delusion abounds! Do you really believe that the universe was created just for humans.? And in 6 days?!? Humans are just another species which has had the good fortune of developing a large brain and the ability to write. It seems you know very little about science or just choose not to believe it.

      • The facts of science today have concluded that the chance any other planet, anywhere in the universe, could support beings like us, is immensely small. There are over 200 of these constants that are necessary for beings like us to exist, which are fine-tuned to precise parameters. There is virtually no chance that this same rarity exits anywhere else in the universe.

God stated that His entire purpose for creating the universe was to display to us that He exists and has the power to do all that He claims in His word. There is no indication anywhere in scripture that there are any other planets with life like ours, although this is possible.

Based upon the science of the universe and the physical constants that exist to make our lives possible on earth, the evidence we have currently, proves that we are the only advanced beings on any planet. There was a time when many scientists believed that there must be life on other planets, but as our knowledge has increased over the past few years about our own universe, this posit has been greatly diminished. Because of the immense impossibility that we could find the physical constants that exist in our part of the universe to make life possible on earth, the conclusions today are that this likely could not have happened anywhere else.

The Bible does not state that God created the universe in 6 days; it states: “in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” We don’t know when this occurred. There is no difficulty with a universe that is billions of years old, fitting the Biblical timeline. The 6 days are the period of time in which God restored the earth and made it ready for man and the animals that dwell with us. There is some evidence in the Bible that there were beings on earth for many millions of years before us and that they were destroyed, as well as earth, before God restored earth for us during the six days mentioned. This idea is quite controversial, but based upon a body of scriptures, I think it does have some merit.

Regarding science, I have written two books about the origin of the universe and have studied and published on this subject many times over the past 40 years. The scientific community today generally agrees that the universe exists only because of intelligent actions that took place, beginning at -430th of a second, and continuing throughout the entire 14 billion years of its history.

It does not appear that you are familiar with these facts, for you continually refer to dated atheistic assumptions that have no relevance to current science.

The universe and human life are all the proof that any intelligent person needs to prove that God exists. Neither were possible by any natural or accidental process.

History also records that God came to earth in the person of Jesus Christ, and showed us visible proofs that He is God. These events are matters of the historical record and they serve as further proofs for the existence of God.

In my experience, by interviewing and debating atheists for nearly 44 years, I have learned that a majority of atheists have never objectively investigated these proofs, nor do they know or understand these proofs.

What is clear by conversing with atheists is that they do not have an intellectual basis for their atheism but simply chose not to believe in God for their own personal reasons, but not for lack of evidence.

      • The historical narrative of Jesus as God, resurrected from the dead, is not “all made up.” It exists as eyewitness testimony by men who saw Jesus crucified, and risen from the dead three days later. There is no evidence to impeach the testimony of the New Testament which states these certainties.

      • Well, if there is no evidence then it can’t be found. Archeology for example. There is no evidence for the trek out of Egypt. DNA is another stickler. The Mormons have a bit of a problem with this as well as lack of archeological evidence for all of their destroyed cites. So many scams, the Jews, the Christians, the Muslims, all praying for the end of the world. Maybe another look as the psychology of delusion might be in order. GROG
